Personally I think one of the smartest things this car has, is the hood opening latch. Don't have to spend 5 minutes trying to dig around to find it and which way it goes. Just pops out and pull up on it. SWEET!!!!

I have a 2006 Lincoln town car signature limited 4.6L flex motor. When the seat starts going back if you just tap the forward button lightly, it will stop where it is and stay there. I find it has adequate storage inside. Not only do you have the glove compartment/consoles/bottom of door bin/little compartments on the door/+ giant pockets on the back of each seat. Not to mention the giant trunk, which by the way these were used for limousines mostly or commonly and this is why you need a huge trunk because people have a lot of luggage and why they had air suspension so it would adjust according to the weight in the trunk and the people in the backseat. Apparently not that many people had problem with legroom where they wouldn’t like so much for limousines.

It kicks the blower motor on high because it's trying to achieve your selected cabin temperature of 90 quickly.

True, BUT the HVAC should ideally turn on to the last settings you had, unless you start it by hitting the AUTO button. Otherwise, there is no point to the AUTO button, since EVERY setting button will start up using an AUTO aspect to it, using the computer to decide fan speed and circulation mode.

You can disable easy entry exit feature by tapping into the DSM module which controls the seats and the seat memory. I did it myself using a FORSCAN program. I even wrote on ford online forums on how to do it. Totally agree that feature is annoying.
Google “disable easy entry exit towncar”, you will find the post and screenshots for instructions.
Let me know if you need more info.
Btw ford dealership told me they could cut the wires to disable it. :) took me a while ro figure out the brains of the machine.

Thanks for the comment! I know there are ways, but for such a commonly used feature, wouldn't it make sense to have a OFF switch for those who don't need it? It's like having heated seats that would always be on... :D

Crown Victorias were known to kill a few cops. Steering would fail to work during deceleration. So, cops on highways in high-speed pursuits who would suddenly need to decelerate and turn sharply would find their steering wasn't working. For example, hitting off-ramps at high speed and jamming on the brakes would suddenly result in an inability to turn. They cops would fail to keep on the road and crash at high speed. RIP.

The two worst aspects are poor gas mileage-- avg.17mpg--which was a surprise since both our Merc Marquis' get 25-26 mpg; and the &$#! window regulators that fail due to faulty part.

Hi. I have 2006 designer series. Love it.
Your climate control works as designed. This is how I see the logic in it:
When you select "screen", the computer thinks you have a problem, like windscreen fogging (because you are in "off -mode). Setting the fan full, it wants to eliminate fog as soon as possible. Why would you otherwise push the button? Wery clever thinking.
Point is: it is trying to solve your problem. Not only changing the blowing direction.
I hope you can see how I think it works.

The sunroof motor access panel shows this car’s fleet intentions. Ugly, but, if it breaks, it can be fixed and swapped out quickly, for a few bucks. No headliner removal and refitting needed.

Tell me any other car from 2006/300k mileage that still has completely undamaged leather interior, including the driver seat! And obviously if you have your car on climate control and it’s warm it’s running on low when you get out it’s gonna have to run on night to get back up to that temperature when you get in again. You can also diagnose your air conditioning system, using the buttons, the sad thing is you have to tear out the dash to fix it. I have mental many little things wrong with mine, including air conditioner actuators which don’t really cost that much but the pool the dash is a huge job

In regards to your climate control. Did you know if you press OFF and FLOOR at the same time while pressing AUTO it will give you the codes to which vent actuators aren't working correctly or failing? Then after it gives you the codes, you can then press front DEFROST button to clear the codes.

As a ltc owner. You have to keep in mind these cars were designed to be luxurious for the passengers more than the owner unfortunately. The company designed these for chauffeur services. That's why there's no overhead light. It's more imitate for the passengers but not disruptive to the driver. And why there's excessive trunk space? It's for picking people travelers with luggage. I know this because the mechanic I go to specializes on ltc's and has multiple contracts with limo companies. They stopped making these more than ten years ago but limo companies still prefer this model. It's the last of the luxury vehicles. That's why I love mine I grew up in what my dad called "boats" and it's the last of them

@@LaLaLucky7777 On the 2003 watch the rear axle bearings. If they go you will need to get an entire axle assemble from an 04 or 05 and swap it out. About $600 with labor. Replacing the bearings and the axles wont work for long. There was a recall on these for fleet cars but not personal vehicles. Personal vehicles got a TSB. The axles were not hardened properly. I have a 2003 Cartier that my wife wanted since it was the last year for Cartier. I swapped the bearings and axles several times at $600-$800 each time at a couple of different shops. I finally had my shop mechanic swap the whole axle. Don't tell the tax guy I used an employee for "personal stuff" lol. No more issues! Other than that it has been a great car. I have even used it for a couple of weddings where they wanted a silver car that matched the limo for the parents to ride in. Simply turn off the memory seat function. It stops that 'click' and it also disables that seat from moving back and forth. My 2004 Lincoln Town Car Ultimate has the memory seat function. I don't program it. I simply leave it alone. That makes too much wear and tear on the seat motors and the battery. It's also extremely annoying!
I have a 1993 Lincoln MARK VIII that moves the front seats forward when the seat back is moved forward for easy entry and egress to the rear seat compartment but it drives me crazy. There's a little button that shuts this off. I call these 'idiot gadgets' and I leave them alone!
Ford is notorious for making such suicide-inducing accessories and features. Take my 1979 Lincoln Continental with the Town Car option. It is fully equipped with everything except moon roof and it also has the opera window-delete option which makes the rear sail panels look a lot classier.
However, those front mini-vent windows are a nightmare! Some unlucky owners found out the hard way...using those dinky little windows too often wears them out - so - you hit the down button for the front windows...those little windows operate first, but, they DROP DOWN INTO THE FRONT DOORS! To have them repaired - is to DIE for! When you are given your estimate, they should have a little waiting room where one may go for a little violent, uncontrolled, weeping and sobbing at the cost!
When I drive this 1979 Lincoln...I DARE ANYONE TO TOUCH THE WINDOW BUTTONS even though I have them locked out! This car is strictly for show anyway because it gets NO miles to the gallon with its dinky little 400-CID 2-bbl V8 engine. I am going to swap a 460 4-bbl V8 under the hood. It has a better power-to-weight ratio and uses less fuel than the 400 2-banger.
