We had a fire alarm go off at our school once because a kid pulled it to summon help when he realized he was having an allergic reaction to something and was having trouble breathing. He couldn't talk and was getting dizzy, so he yanked the fire alarm, knowing that he was close to one of the exits that was often used in drills. Sure enough, a teacher with their class came down that way, found him, and brought him outside and paramedics were able to treat him and he was okay. Still, quick thinking on his part.

I knew a kid that had a very unstable home life, he tried talking to teachers about it as it got progressively worse but they wouldn't listen to him. One day he came to school with a black eye and the teachers dismissed him again.
The kid pulled the fire alarm, when the police showed up he begged them to help him.
It always stuck with me that the teachers were so inept, so dismissive of this kid that the only way he could see out of his situation was that.
Dude that's seriously sad I hope he managed to get the help he needed!
Stories like that are why mandatory reporting laws are now a thing. Which have problems all their own but you do the best you can in an imperfect world.
@@martynix4277 Yep and you could lose your teaching license/permissions in the states if you do not notify the proper authorities of suspected child abuse. At least so long as the superintendents aren't dumb as bricks.

@@nave712 They did, both his parents went to prison for abusing him.and his two sisters. All three of them went to live with some family a few hours away. Last I heard he's married with a kid on the way.

We had 2 gyms one with tennis and badminton courts drawn on amd another one that lead straight to the changing rooms for those takeing sports for there gcses cuz it had a whiteboard in there too

Considering false alarms aren't jokes or pranks they are dangerous the principal was acting like it was just another day at school minus a little bit inconvenience I would be pissed too not at the child i would be pissed at the principal who seemed determined that a false alarm is just a minor problem vs this could cause a delay in response to a real emergency.

The little kid did it because he was new to the school because his father wanted the best education for him so he transfered him to a private school. The kid pulled multiple false alarms hoping the school would get shut down and he would be able to return back to his friends.

I pulled the fire alarm on accident in kindergarten, it was placed right beside the cubbyholes and I being the smallest always had to stand on the cubby bench to reach the top, one day since mine was the last one I toppeded over and reached to grab something and well, I pulled the alarm, teacher saw it was a accident so I didn’t get in trouble

I remember in college, my school had apartment style dorms with a kitchen in each unit. the fire alarms would go off all the time, not because students were smoking their dorms, but inept college students not knowing how to cook and burn their food enough to trigger the fire alarms which would bring out the firefighters. Honestly, I know Atleast three people who burn their ramen or hot pocket and trigger the fire alarms 🤦♀️
The whole time I was trying to guess who it was. That was a pretty good twist at the end.

In Jr high school we had alarm pulls almost weekly until they put deterrents up to stop the alarms
Some kids can be really stupid, and sometimes it's because of the pressure they have of going to school.
Literally happened so many times at my school that in my last two years camera’s were installed everywhere there was a fire alarm and everyone was informed that pulling it deliberately without just cause would lead to immediate expulsion. I think a one or two people got the boot and the incidents went down drastically.
It was pulled at least 10 times over the course of exam season, at the end of every term when people were leaving, several times at the start of the day & etc...
Though sometimes it was caused by the kitchen burning something (usually the start of the day, making the break time snacks; bacon butty’s, toast and such)

I was at school once and my class and I saw a lot of smoke and said miss we think there is a fire. She said there wasn’t cause the fire alarm was not going off. A little after that we looked out the window and saw another class assembling outside their classroom and then saw their teacher lead them away. A few moments after that we heard the alarm.
So she's an idiot.
Every year, sometimes more than once, somebody always pulls the fire alarm. It's always right before we get to go home or when it's down pouring. It sucks

When they found that baby I was so pissed that he had to resort to pulling the fire alarm because he was afraid. Our kids need to be protected and parents need to be a lil more vigilant. Giving the child what we think is best sometimes causes more harm

My lunch aide in 5th grade accidentally tripped the fire alarm in front of us. She was taking us back to class when someone started talking. She stopped us to yell at us and her purse hit the plastic cover and it tripped the alarm. She tried to pin it on a kid in my class and say he pulled it. They believed her. The kid was suspended for some unknown amount of days. When I found out I had the brains (and I watched too many crime shows) to tell my dad (who was chief of police at the time) to check the cameras. He went to the school and told them to check. When they saw the footage they ended the kids suspension and our aide got in trouble. I’m not sure if she was fired but we never saw her again.

I remember back in my Sophomore year of high school it was about 5 minutes before my last class was supposed to end and we could all go home for a 3 day weekend, guess somebody decided they wanted to go home earlier cause the fire alarm got pulled. We all had to March outside and wait for like 20 minutes while the fire department made sure it was safe, and they just let everybody go home. Don’t know if they ever found who pulled it.

someone trigger the fire alarm during our final test for GCSE, had to wait outside for 30 minutes.
Now I really want to see the full episode! They put deterrent things on the fire alarms at my former high school so you couldn't pull the alarm!
My elementary school put dye packs on them and that dye is not the easiest thing to get off, one time a kid had pulled the one next to the cafeteria and standard procedure at the time was single file walk to designated spots, my walk was right past the cafeteria and past the pull tab alarm despite there being a closer exit (stupid decision, i know).
And as i walked past it i noticed dye pack paint spread across the unit, which is highly unusual because the way they were designed was so the dye would go around the finger/fingers when triggered and it wasnt easy to trip by accident.
Come to find out, the kid was desperate to meet the fire chief to thank him for getting him off a large tree.
Wholesome but definitely not the best way to go about meeting him

I remember someone setting fire to the toilet roll in one of the toilets in high school. We were bored in class looking out the window and saw smoke. Let's just say when it says break glass to access the alarm it wouldn't break. I had to use an impulse spray can on it to get the glass to break it was so thick!

1:01 I slightly saw the kid running on the top left of the camera footage! The principal or teachers didn't do anything to help the new kid. The principal should not only be thinking about the older students, but to the new, younger ones more often.

In my school regularly 12 alarms would go off bc of highschoolers in their cooking class or someone just presses the alarm beside the light switch or someone does it on purpose.
Some kids in my school have pulled the fire alarm multiple times but since we have it so first 2 times it's short and 3rd time is long so teachers knew if it was fake or not

One time at my school someone pulled the alarm because it was during a French test and he hates French when we got back inside French was over but then tomorrow we had to finish the test sooo really wasn’t a good idea to make us stand outside during winter 🥶
Honestly, I found this episode to be a bit lackluster. I expected there to be something dark hidden in the school and that's the headmaster wouldn't help. But that's just my opinion.
That also would’ve been a predictable way to go though. Every other episode of any show that involves a private school always leads to something dark and as usual, the headmaster doesn’t do a thing until it becomes public.
I liked the episode, a story that needed to be told as false alarms caused by kids are a common problem, but I thought the promo was hilariously misleading!

I we had someone turn on the light fixtures in the auditorium and set the curtains on fire at my school Rondout Valley High School and we had to stay outside in the cold and we had 5 fire departments arrive stone ridge and krumville and rose dale fire department
Word of advice: Don't piss off Chief Boden.
One of my freind always taps the fire alarm button but doesn't trigger it and once he tapped it to hard and it triggered during a gcse exam and they had to wait outside 10 minutes and they got no extra time
First years kept pulling a fire alarm so I was sent to the school to keep an eye out as it was getting extremely annoying for the school and students and junior cert and leaving cert was going on at the time as well as well as my cousins fire team HAHA I BUSTED THOSE KIDS I scared the crap out of them to but the school lost almost 30,000€....over the course of three weeks cause every time there’s no planned fire alarm the school has to pay the firebrigade €60

I watched this episode today on HULU
One of my classmates leaned against the wall by a fire alarm which by chance his shirt got stuck without him knowing and the next thing we knew the alarm went off. This was around the time our school was having bomb threat issues as well as a year after the Columbine shooting so it was chaos. The cameras picked up that it was a mishap however that person was not well liked for a week as since we had to leave the school and head to the bus garage in the middle of winter (The snow in this show is very much the same as were I live since it is only a few hours drive to Chicago to where I live as well as being close Lake Michigan so you get how cold it was (my school is very small as in 60 is a huge class to have graduated) in the middle of winter without our coats. Then be shipped to the fire station to wait for parents to pick the kids up. I lived close by so i and 2 friends could walk home after doing the proper instructions. Nothing really bad happened to the person other than no one really talked to him for a week and would let him lean against the wall for a while. We all knew it was a mishap but again we were not gonna forgive them for making us freeze out butts off and some got really bad colds.

Pulling the alarm is NOT A JOKE, DO NO DO THIS AS A FUNNY JOKE. If you pull the alarm your wasting time for the fire fighter and if the firefighters had 2 calls they might respond with more fighters to a school because it’s a school. So just don’t do it as a joke .

Not a fire alarm, but back in the day, my great granny became the first woman principal. Of course, everyone gave her a tough time because they thought she couldn’t be tough enough to handle her students.
One day, she got a call of a bomb threat in her school, so she had the whole building evacuated and had the police and firefighters do a sweep of the school. Since it was near the end of the day and it was going to be awhile before the sweep was done, all the students were dismissed from school. She would stay until the first responders let her know there was no bomb. Good.
However, it happened again! Someone calls with a bomb threat, evacuation, first responders show up and do a sweep while the school is dismissed only for there to still be no bomb!
Well Great Granny started thinking. Two calls about a bomb threat in the same week and it was before the second to last period of the day, so everyone would be dismissed home a few hours early. This was during a time when caller ID wasn’t a thing yet, but she was without a doubt certain it was a student.
The next time they called, she was ready.
They call, the school is evacuated, and first responders sweep the building. However, instead of everyone going home, they were forced to stay. And when the sweep was done with no danger, Great Granny told everyone to go back in and they would be staying an extra few hours to make up for the time they spent outside waiting instead of learning. The students were not happy.
There were no more bomb threat calls after that.
Rather a fire alarm than bomb threat, one year in high-school we had a couple dozen threats that were all fake. Some freshy(which that this school was actually 10th grade) didn't want to go to class, stole a phone and kept calling in fake threats. 😒
