This was an excellent video because you highlighted it’s more than just the method. I know how a piano is played but that doesn’t stop me appreciating a great piano performance which is more than just an exhibition of manual dexterity. The best magic performances are great performances even if you know how the trick is done
@@hotshothr5949 I still struggle with it more. it's like the card doesn't want to go out it wants to stick to other cards to take them out too and shit.
Great tricks - and your explanations about the phases of magic tricks...doesn't the design encompasses what and how you actually want the effect to reveal, and of course the method you use to achieve any switch ?
All of your videos are fun and entertaining. I'm also impressed that you can have become so skilled while still being a serious student (not of magic).
Haha thought the same, but to be fair he was demonstrating the effect first(which doesn't change), and after spoke about the method, saying it could be done in many ways...choosing to expose a second deal is better than a DL as DL are such a vital part of card magic that you would want to rather expose a gambling move that would be difficult to copy and not used as much in magic? Perhaps implying that the initial effect was done using the method he explained was a bit sneaky but doesn't change anything to a layman watching. Only magicians would notice. :)
He's really good, obviously, but his DL could be better. Specifically, there's a method that looks more like what people actually do to deal the top card.
Either you were showing off a completely separate trick at the end while pretending to whiff the trick this video was about, or you were showing off the number 1 rule of showbiz, that the show must go on.

Very smooth presentation. You have excellent communication skills. Thanks for the big picture of how a magic trick works.

I watched a routine you did at the magic castle, insane stuff, keep up the great work
Ace of clubs to ace of hearts was so cooooool
Gotta love that perpetual smirk in the eyes, from the one who knows! ;)
I know what's about to happen and I'm still supper impressed nice job dude!
clear, concise, and illuminating. thanks, daniel :^)
Wow! 👏He's not only a great magician but a great teacher too... Thanks so much for this! 😊❤️
Great Exploration, thx for this. And by the way...cool T-Shirt.
Great job Daniel. 👏
Excellent presentation, DR, but the whole time I was wondering where I could get one of those shirts!
Congrats on your success. Well earned!
What an amazingly articulate presentation backed up with solid skills. Subscribed. Thank you.
That was very nice, enjoyed the video 😍
7:12 you are a genius
Beautifully done
For your age, and your advanced card technique, you are more than gifted man. Superb
Simply amazing
Love this! 🔥
My god I feel like you must have spent hundreds or thousands of hours working on the second deal. It is so freaking smooth!
Great job my friend keep it up 😍😍😍😍
Thank you for the video. Nicely explained.
Just amazing great video and I did enjoy it
I was expecting a double lift but damn i gotta go learn that second deal.
it's easier than a double lift tbh
@@hotshothr5949 I still struggle with it more. it's like the card doesn't want to go out it wants to stick to other cards to take them out too and shit.
thats a problem with your deck then. if your deck is old, the cards tend to stick with one another. you should buy a new deck if you want to learn it.
@@hotshothr5949 No, I have lots of new decks and it happens to them too, new decks what I tried practicing with :(
hmmm, ive never heard anything like that
nice performance
1:25 i thought Ur muscels exposed the Pinky Break, watching more from the Video i am confused know, was it a pinky break or the gambler trick?
Its double lift
Frodo doing card tricks. What a world
I thought it was Harry Potter! Thanks for clarifying. 😂
LOL
@@DanielRoyMagic in any case a compliment
Enjoyed the tutorial
Good stuff.
Cool.

Do you do tutorial
Damn ur broke that shit down like some work
Even in slow motion, I can't detect the second deal
That's why no-one should play cards for money..
Asking the wrong question. This is how deception and self-deception work in every area of life.
All of your videos are fun and entertaining. I'm also impressed that you can have become so skilled while still being a serious student (not of magic).
If you don't think that studying magic is as serious as studying anything else then you are absolutely wrong.
You're Richard Turner but with a hard science background, my man.
and with less skill
not hating this but like this isnt even close to the skill of richard turner
The prestige
You are wrong!! There are 3 elements of magic tricks: the Pledge, the Turn, and the Prestige! (I'm joking)
Why would you do a DL and say it was a second deal? That's clearly what was done.
Good question, that's what I thought aswell.

Temporal distance is really bad because it induces lack of attention.

Penn explains it better by just saying it's professional lying
