The guys, especially RM have been struggling for a while. Their level of fame turned then into ambassadors for Korea basically. RM as the leader and English speaker has been thrust into speaking, basically for all of Korea, the company and the other members. They just wanted to do music and they feel like they've lost sight of that. Honestly, I'm shocked they've been able to hold it all together this long.

RM is ridiculously talented as a song writer having I think 209 writing credits now. He worked on this song since he got the idea in 2016. He worked with Docskim, who has been a producer with BTS since the early days he helped produce Lie and Outro Tear and is the keyboardist with the live band who goes on tour with BTS. Docskim intended this to be his last song and lost his passion for music but the process of working on this song gave him back him love for music. RM inspires even those closest to him. The whole album is amazing.

About the end, I feel that the scene switches between stage and flower field is like he is finally figuring out how to balance those two. He has realized that he also needs the calm and peace like he is just chilling in the field, so that he then can also then manage to be on the front stage and perform and enjoy that also. The song is his journey that then in the end comes to him finding a balance or knowing what he needs to be happy 💜

His other solo work is also just as lyrical but different feel. Consider that RM was 17 when he started BTS, he had to deal with a lot backlash that most kids his age didn't have to deal with, since he is the leader. So he dealt with it through his music, so he always inspiration through all that. My favorite of his solos are Seoul, Do You, Joke, Moonchild, and Change with Wale. 😁

I’ve taught Lit & poetry for a dozen years and Kim Namjoon is my favorite POET. His songs are layered filled with imagery, symbolism & metaphor. Yet all his songs go hard. I think blew out my car speakers yesterday listening to Indigo on loop. The thing is RM is also a beautiful human. Oh man there is just to much to tell you! First of all BTS is not Kpop. The Korean artists that RM features are the REAL Korean artists. Kpop is a manufactured industry.
I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THIS ALBUM. No my friend you NEVER can go too deep with RM or BTS.
The few Hate comments you get are from Kpoppies who have been jealous of BTS for ten years. Just ignore them. 💜 I followed you just to see where this goes. You really had good insight into Wildflower even as you say without any context. ❤️‍🔥

I think you’re spot on with your interpretation! This year they put out a video for their 9 year anniversary “Festa Dinner”. Basically they were expressing to their fans all of their thoughts and worries about their future as a band. Fame definitely shackled them and they didn’t feel like themselves anymore. They were the first to really break through the American music market and I think the general public and the music industry labeled them, put them in a box and tried to make them something they really weren’t. To me, it felt like for them to be recognized and be played on American radio, receive a Grammy was if they sung their songs in entirely English. It was so disheartening to see them get snubbed by the Recording Academy for two years. 😔 So many layers to this but yeah there was too much pressure from the world. I think RM is saying he just wants to put his feet on the ground as an individual, find himself, find peace and be calm while staying true to himself.
Thank you for your reaction!! Ignore all the haters and antis 💜

I'm sorry you had some bad experiences with Army. The rest of us are quite embarrassed that these people exist in our fandom and try to spread love and knowledge that will hopefully combat the few delulus. We tend to be very protective of BTS after years of watching them face so many struggles with haters and racists. They made it despite the K-Pop industry, not because of it. However, they were lucky that their label wanted them to write their own music and tell their own stories. RM had the weight of the group on his shoulders. It couldn't have been easy. He has always had a good head on his shoulders and was determined to show the best of himself and the group. We watched him doubt himself and beat himself up for quite a while until he finally realized that he was just going to be himself. Despite that he still struggled to really understand who that was and you can see that in the progression of songs. His song Intro: Persona is kind of a precursor to this song. And, yes, most of the time he's a pretty deep guy and so are his lyrics. He's a literal genius with an IQ of 148 so you know the smart ones often are big thinkers and he is definitely a thinker, philosopher, poet, lyricist and badass rapper (you'll see). And your friend was right, they actually all have to enter the military for about 2 years. Jin will go in a few weeks and I think RM will go after he promotes this album. The album is straight fire! I highly recommend you give it a listen. Also Doolset is a great place to get the most accurate lyrical translations. Borahae 💜

Indigo is a deep album. Rm is a deep minded person. It describes RM his struggle with the hate and fame they got over the years.
Heading from a concert to the next one, every time on the road, no break for recovery. Between the concerts, rehears, practice, interviews, practice, sport and diat, song writing, and that for 9 years. No time for them to find them self. There is no time for meeting family and friends or having a good time around things you like. What normal young people do. And this in this young age. In this business, it isn't allowed to make any mistakes. Immediately, you get hatred. Just working, not being a human.
And while he speaks and understands English, he was the translator for the group and held the most hate from overseas away from the group.
RM is a smart guy with a good soul, and I hope this Solo way gives him a bit more peace and freedom, what he long time not have. And give him power for the Militar.
With this album, he shows how he felt and struggled with all the years. And in the ende of what I wrote, I have to say Youjeens voice fit so well to this Song. She's amazing.

rm is the leader of bts, the biggest group on the planet. they started in june 2013 and have topped the beatles and michael jackson in the music industry. they have over 700 awards plus diplomatic status. rm is telling us about his feelings, inner struggle[identity] and overwhelming pressure in general to remain 'himself'. being in the spotlight 24/7, with the music industry, korean government and western politicians all pulling in many directions, he has to fight to stay himself, the poet, the musician. he was and is just a rapper in the group bts. ego, vanity and all the things that come with ultimate fame is not him. the other members jhope and jin have put their feeling out over the last 3 months also. they are all very humble and pure human beings living in a dog eat dog world and to add racism and discrimination to the mix is heavy. watch bts by taylor and the rise of bangtan to understand them and their lyrical writings and music. welcome to the bts rabbit hole you are about to be amazed with artistic greatness from 7 young men.

Also, when he says he'll never be like them. I think he's talking about the people who are willing to sell their souls to the industry to make money. He doesn't care about that. He instead chooses to possibly have a smaller audience but make the music that's in his soul.

  • @ljp2
    @ljp2 ปีที่แล้ว +22

Here is what I took from the song:
In the very first verse, he talks about how he wished for a “beautiful fall” where he could applaud and smile. To me this means, when it was BTS’s time to hang it up, they would bow out gracefully.
However he then says how fame shackled him. This part in particular I feel is referring to the success of “Dynamite” and how it unexpectedly turned them in to mega global superstars. Originally BTS were going to take their hiatus in 2020 after their Map of the Soul tour but it was cancelled due to the pandemic. So instead they made a fun light hearted song to lift everyone’s mood but it ended up being the song that both skyrocketed them to superstardom and also “shackled” them. Because after this success, their intended break could not continue as the demands from the label, media as well as millions of new fans wanting more and more from the group. Suddenly, they were putting out music that was inauthentic to themselves (Butter, Permission to Dance); tracks that were written by other producers and songwriters in order for them to win a Grammy. Making all sorts of content from shows to video games, etc in just a short time. just doing literally everything and anything. And on top of that then their own country’s government took advantage of their fame and started using BTS as ambassadors for many government sponsored projects. They suddenly had been giving so much more responsibility than they had ever anticipated.
They were already tired. They were ready to take their break after working for the 7 years but they had to delay it because of all the pressure to deliver more.
The line where he says , “society is all for the loudest voices and here i am still speaking silence” i believe is a direct correlation from what he spoke about in their last Festa. He was in tears. BTS has one of the biggest voices and influence in the world right now. But there are many things behind the scenes he cannot speak about and has to put on his persona of “RM” to be happy for the fans and most likely for the labels demands also. Jimin from BTS also mentioned during the Festa that they wish they could tell us everything that’s going on with them but they can’t.
RM being on stage alone is symbolic of his persona of “RM of BTS” whereas him in the peaceful nature is his true self as Kim Namjoon. You can see in the video there’s contrasting imagery of him going back and forth from him being in peaceful field and then the darkness and chaos of the storm. Namjoon is a huge nature enthusiast and you can see from his instagram he enjoys being outdoors.
and these the lines, “Flower field is where I’m at, open field is where I’m at. No name is what I have. No shame I’m on my grave.” really speak to that core part of him. When he’s out in nature, he doesn’t have a name. Nobody knows him. And when he says he’s on his grave meaning this is where he is peaceful. Death is usually symbolic of finally having peace.
If you get an opportunity, please also check out “Interlude: Shadow” by SUGA. Another rapper from BTS. He also shares similar sentiments about the dark side of fame that came with being apart of BTS. How as the spotlight grows, so does his shadow. He shares the same conflicting feelings about how these are things he wanted but at the same time the higher he goes it scares him.
anyway thanks for your video! hope to see you reacting to shadow soon!

I agree with nearly all of this. During that same Festa dinner, I remember RM saying he felt he had his finger on the pulse of who BTS was until MOTS, but has felt lost since then. And of course Dynamite is what came next. I know a lot of ARMY won't like me saying this, but I get the feeling RM felt like a sellout with Dynamite. It was 100% written and produced be Americans, and for THAT song to be the one that made them reach new heights must have been devastating for him. It sent the message that with RM at the helm, leading their music, he was the "cause" of them not being able to break the ceiling. And what really breaks my heart is that ARMY pushed that song so hard not because it was ARMYs fav song ever, but they saw the potential for it to get the general public's attention and they thought that would be a good thing. And of course in many ways it was, but really I think it made BTS think ARMY liked the Dynamite sound and image best of all, which is so not true. It's all so complex. It just makes me sad when I think of the role ARMY unknowingly played it causing some pressure and hurt to our beloved 7.
Anyway the one thing I don't totally agree with is that the Korean government or their label took advantage of their fame. They may have, but I also think they made certain decisions out of pride and also out of the pressure they put on themselves.

@@luvBTS7 The reason I believe that is because the way the South Korean government gave them so many responsibilities in becoming the face of South Korea. Everything from becoming ambassadors to South Korea’s tourism to becoming presidential envoys and awarded diplomatic passports. The whole debate of will they be exempted from the military even with the government officials giving out polls to Korean residents if they believe they should be exempted or not. I personally think BTS may have felt like they were being tossed around which is why when Jin abruptly announced his voluntary military enlistment they government was shocked.

BTS as a group have a massive discography and of those hundreds of songs, I would say RM is credited as a songwriter in almost all of them with Suga and then JHope just behind. The other members all have writing credits as well, but not as many as the rapline. They do also have collaborations with other songwriters or with in house writers and producers. PDogg is their main producer. Although Suga is also a fire producer in his own right.

I think the Guide to the members of Bangtan by Taylor Nakamoto will answer a lot of the questions you have. But all 7 members of BTS have written and produced songs for the group or solo songs or subunit songs that feature just a few members but not the whole group. RM has written the most songs for the group out of any of them members. And not just the whole group or just the rap line, but he wrote Singularity as a solo for V (if you watch the MV for that make sure to also watch the Bookish Theories explanation video because that song is deep, like Mariana Trench deep) he also wrote Zero O’clock for the vocal line. Another deep song. Are you seeing a pattern yet? RM has a profound introspection and then writes the songs of his inner self. But Big Hit also has in house song writers and producers that work on some BTS songs, and BTS’ 3 English songs were all written and produced by others.

Yes, RM wrote the song. It is one of 10 songs off his new solo album called Indigo. He did have assistance with Producing his songs but that is different than writing the lyrics and composing. He likely had help in Composing the music to go with the lyrics, especially for his collaborators. RM is truly a genius lyrically. He is involved in writing many of BTS' songs as well. He, and the others, have been having some difficulty with the Fame now that they are Sooo big. They've become political figures, and they also own part of their company and really are the ones that made the company as big it is, so it's a lot of pressure to keep up the fame and the income for the company. Right now, as of mid-2022, the group is on hiatus as far as group music, and each are working on solo works while they one-by-one enlist in South Korea's mandatory military. Jin, the oldest "hyung" (older brother) of the group was the first to enlist in mid-December. We aren't exactly positive who will be next. J-Hope was first with his solo album "Jack in the Box", then RM with "Indigo", and Jin did a solo single "The Astronaut" performed in Coldplay. Jimin is next with his 6-song album coming out in March 2023 and called "Face". Suga/Agust D is doing a solo tour in April/May, including several shows in the U.S. in smaller venues than a BTS concert would be (always stadiums). We don't know if we're getting a tour with existing music or if there will be an album also. The two left are "V" and "Jungkook" - the 2 youngest of the group. Jungkook recently said he hasn't been working on his solo album. V was just in a television show filmed in South America, but I don't know the status of his solo album. They have all been doing other non-music group activities, and other solo activities as well.

Thank you for your reaction!!! It's always a pleasure to see someone being honest on their opinions about them and making the effort to understand where they are coming from :) My fellow Army have already left pretty amazing comments explaining in depth but Id like to just point out that the best way to understand BTS is letting their music and lyrics speak for themselves and asking questions. So in that sense, Id love if you react to BTS Room live to check out some snippets of their discography. We will guide you through it and recommend other tracks later :) It's okay if you dont like everything too, as long as it's expressed respectfully (we have had some bad experiences with that throughout the years lol). Just have fun discovering them and talking to us!:)

Namjoon is a hell of a poet. That's where it starts for him. Folks have explained the song already, but I couldn't resist saying this. Yeah, his songs are often this deep. Not always, but Indigo is full of meaningful things, and so are most BTS songs. RM's lyrics got me interested in learning Korean so I can maybe someday understand his poetry better.
I love this song so much. Youjeen's vocal cuts through to my heart. The whole thing is just raw emotion... I want Namjoon to find the kind of beauty he needs. To be a flowerwork... Wildflowers are just as beautiful as fireworks, if you think to look at them. And they last. I hope he finds a way to create art that lets him stay with the wildflowers. The song after this on the album answers it, actually, and it's really hopeful and sweet.
And BTS as a whole - they have 3 songs they didn't have a hand in writing, out of 300ish. RM is one of the main writers. They do have a whole creative team at HYBE, so they're not the only ones doing the songwriting, but they drive the music. Each of them has also created songs and mixtapes that are entirely self-produced as well - usually SoundCloud releases - which is an interesting way to get a sense of them as individuals.
I love how much you dug into the lyrics... I think there's a lot you'll enjoy in the BTS discography. And asking sincere questions is great.
I'm sorry you've gotten hit by the haters. They're not a large percentage of the fan base in my experience, but they're loud. It's not anything you're doing or saying - there's no way to say things perfectly to make them happy. I had one yell at me for a couple of days once because I said Jin sounded particularly good in a performance and this person decided that meant I hated JK. (Seriously. It's really something.)
So since those folks aren't worth trying to please, I can speak for the rest of us and say that if you look into their work with a sincere and open mind, you're doing fine. You're not going to upset us by asking if they write their own music. Or by getting their names wrong, or not liking certain songs... or whatever. You're a respectful person. 💜

BTSs and rms music is always deep man.
All of them talk about their own lives in their music.
In btss music they talk about universal themes and feelinf which is still based on their own life.
In their solo works they talk about themselves and their own personal feelings.
Indigo by rm is about himself and how he explored his 20s.
Jack in the box by jhope was about his greed for doing more music.
Astronaut by jin was his farewell before going to the military.
So yeah bts always talk about themselves man.

All seven members are in a point nowadays that they are more in tune with what they want and who they are as artists. All of this whole sharing with the fans trough their artistry. 💜💜 They are humans beings first. 💜💜💜

I think you’re right on track. Since RM is the leader of BTS and the only fluent English speaker, he’s got additional pressure to deliver and behave to certain expectations, even more than your average famous person since they’re a global phenomenon and he’s spoken at the UN General Assembly 3 times, as well as the White House. He started just as a kid who loved hip hop, and has grown into this. They all are required to go into the military very soon so I think they wanted to take this time to reflect and release solo work to reflect on their identities as individuals before they become soldiers in the military.

They have an in house production team that's been with bts since the beginning. Each bts members has been credited at some part of the production in almost every song. Sometimes during solo works, they seek guidance from each other as well (in song writing, etc.) When it comes to collaborations, there songs that's already been produced from one artist that's shared to the other but the boys often manage to incorporate their own voices/lyrics into it. You'll learn this along the way 😊

BTS write and produce their own music. RM is the main songwriter, but all three of the rap line are main songwriters for the group. All seven members have experience with writing, composing, and producing for the group and for their solo projects. Of course they do collaborations with other artists and even accept songs occasionally, but they work very closely with their procuction team. PDOGG is their main producer, and out of the BTS members, I would say SUGA produces the most for the group. You will get a breakdown of what each member does in the Taylor Guide. I like that you are curious and asking questions. Right now all seven of them are working on their solo projects before they have to enlist in the military. JIN is the oldest and the first one. He will be going soon, this month, I hear by Dec 13. Today is JIN's Birthday, and he turns 30 years old Global age.
They talked about their hardships they were going through at their ninth anniversary dinner. It's been tough, they couldn't tell us that they were going into the military for a long time, and it was hard on them. According to their company, they will all be enlisted by mid 2023, after they all finish their solo promotions. All seven of them will serve 18 months. So far J-Hope, JIN, and RM, have dropped their solo projects. I'm expecting SUGA or Jimin to be next. But their are still four members to drop their solo work. Their agency also said they will be coming back together as a group sometime in 2025, I'm unsure of what RM meant by the "Because I will never be like them." lyric. I also don't know what he means by his poetry has protected him so far. There are things that we as fans don't know, because they are bound by their agency on some things. But I have noticed that there was something going on behind the scenes, we won't know unless they tell us or it comes out somehow. i also remember a comment about they have gone through heart break this year. It can't be a romantic heartbreak, becuas they said "They" as in the group. so that is all I know. Just that they really are going through a lot. I know J-Hope has touched on it as well. Anyway, I've commented a book now. So thanks for the reaction. I left another song link for a song from his album, you might want to bookmark the youtuber 'Enjoy BTS More' she's amazing at adding subtitles to BTS videos, and she researches and adds information. Thanks,

Just wanted to point out that although we cant be sure, the line "I Will never be like them" could be related to their change in music with the English releases. They have always pushed boundaries and they are different to almost any other group in the Kpop industry So they had to fight that first and then the American industry trying to pigeonhole them. RM mentioned that he has felt he lost the music direction of the group since Dynamite and he doesn't like that now they are all mainly known for these releases. This time focusing on the sólo projects is meant to give them the opportunity to explore their artistry without all the expectations they carry as BTS and to get them back to their roots. Also yeah, military is around the corner and they have always been pretty clear that BTS as a group is all 7 of them or nothing

A lot of the 'bad' fans aren't ARMY just so you're aware they might not even be a fan at all. It's not actually unusual for non fans to try and make ARMY look bad, it's very sad but true. Also some of them are just kids and they don't really know anything yet or have respect for others but hopefully they'll learn.
Most true ARMYs are respectful but honest if we think you've take a wrong turn we'll let you know.
RM's is quite happy for us to take what we want or need from his lyrics and song however he does have a video explaining the album and each song which you can look at if you're going to review the album (which i very highly recommend).
I'm sure others have told you but all of BTS have to do military service there is no one in the group that is exempt.
BTS do have a few songs they didn't write but not that many, they're highly involved in their music.

Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. RM wrecked us bad. I cried reading the lyrics my 1st read through. Damn, RM! It hurts that he felt this way. Dang it. This brings me back to what he said at Festa Dinner. Youjeen was perfect. Don't know her but she sounded great. I look forward to learning more about her. She is a 45yo rock singer. She is part of a band. They are legends in Korea. By the way he did a live on Weverse too. Not the live i was expecting. 😅Hope u can react to that as well. U can watch it here they posted it. He also did an interview and I'll bet we will get behind the scenes so u can watch that and find out more info. This is my fav song. I've heard a few and they are not catchy to me. I need to hear the full album still. Lots of connections with older songs.
I suggest watching the explanation video from Bookish Theories. Great channel to follow. This song is how RM felt when he wrote it. It's a really hard life. Things move at a fast pace and he has no time to think about his feelings. Yes, he is very tired. Military (18 months) will give him a break. He will get what he yearns for here a rest but he might also regret that wish after the fact. We will see how he feels in 2025. RM is our poet and philosopher. All his stuff is deep. Yes, they write a lot of their music. They also have in house writers that help them. Because this is RMs solo work he writes all the songs on his album with assistance. doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com/?s=wild+flower Pls check out doolset lyrics of the korean songs. Produced by DOCSKIM and
Written by RM, DOCSKIM. Through this track, RM expresses his desire and struggle to live like humble, tranquil wildflowers rather than a flame that quickly blows out. RM has mentioned the theme of wildflowers throughout the years. For example, in a 2015 interview (as part of HYYH On Stage Epilogue Program Book), when asked what role he would want to take on if he joined the cast of a young adult movie, he answered, “I’d be fine just being a wildflower bloomed on the side of the street.” In an April 2017 post “들꽃놀이,” the Korean title of “Wild Flower,” he said, “Perhaps in our lives, we need wildflowers [들꽃; pronounced deulkkot]-rather than flames [불꽃; pronounced bulkkot] or cherry blossoms [벚꽃; pronounced beotkkot]-in bloom, tranquilly” after going out to see cherry blossoms with his parents and hearing about his mother’s love for wildflowers that are in bloom tranquilly.
The Korean word for fireworks is 불꽃놀이 (pronounced bulkkotnori), which is a composite word of 불꽃 (pronounced bulkkot; flame) and 놀이 (pronounced nori; play, amusement, or recreation). 불꽃 itself is also a composite word of 불 (pronounced bul; fire) and 꽃 (pronounced kkot; flower), making it the flower of fire. To highlight the rhyme, I’ll stick to the deconstructed version, flower of fire, in my translation. The Korean title of this track “들꽃놀이,” pronounced deulkkotnori, is therefore a wordplay of 불꽃놀이 (pronounced bulkkotnori) with 들꽃 (wildflower, flower of the field) replacing 불꽃 (flower of fire).
All BTS members have to go to the military. It's mandatory. RM, JHope and Suga will go in the next 3 months. They are finishing up their work. They are not allowed to record songs while they are in the military. All members have to go before 30 yo. Jin who is 30 now is doing basic training for a month and than will be moved to the frontlines. We all praying for his health and waiting for him to come back to us in 2024. BTS will return as a group in 2025. It will be wild! In the meantime army will vote for them and stream their albums as much as possible. Our work is just beginning. Fighting! Excited to hear ur thoughts on mor songs. Borahae. -NY USA 2019 Army💟
We shouldn't forget what Namjoon said : INDIGO is his diary of his 20's (of those 4 years)He said this album is born from his feelings at that time. 😭 This ALBUM gives us an insight on HOW namjoon felt during those years.

When I watched the Festa dinner I felt this break was more for RM . The whole group needs it to find themselves but I felt RM needed more and to go back to being Kim Nam-Joon then he can come back to being RM with a renewed energy . I think he saying he lost his identity people only think of him as RM , he had to only think of RM and BTS but that not the only part of him he is Kim Nam-Joon as well, he can be both people. That's what I got from it. I could be way off though. It's a beautiful and powerful song. So proud of him.

On his MV 3:03 that's what you call "Nakhwanori" or Traditional Korean Firework festival. Joon wants to pay tribute to the Traditional Koreans who still does this. The 'Nakhwa nori' festival is a traditional fireworks display that is held in May to pray for the well-being and good year of the people. Joon clarified that is not CGI, he has to close his eyes most of the time because it's dangerous for the eyes. Hope you see this comment.
    Alix DriftwoodDragons said on 12/3/22
I thought it was brilliant the way he was able to capture the fact that "flower" and "firework" are the same/similar in Korean by inventing the English word "flowerwork" ... and just the whole theme of Fireworks (high in the sky, burning brightly but brief) vs wildflowers (on the ground, blooming repeatedly, able to survive harsh conditions) was brilliantly done. Youjeen's voice is AMAZING, she's the lead vocal on a Korean rock band called Cherry Filter - and those rock vocals are so well used here. It's such an emotional song.

RM did say in Festa 2022 that the kpop industry doesn't give you time to mature, you have to put out certain kinds of music. Yes they had more freedom as far as creativity is concerned but they still had to put out music at an exhausting pace...

Fun fact: Before BTS began doing it, it wasn't normal at all for Korean idol groups to release songs with deeper meanings, discuss serious topics in their songs, acknowledge issues of vulnerability like burnout, depression or mental illness. It wasn't normal for idols to open up about their personal troubles at all. In fact, doing so got some idols thrown out of their companies. It was also not normal or common to have a running storyline/theme that is carried through multiple albums and/or MVs and songs. But BTS did it all so successfully, and broke those stigmas, to the point that now many other Korean idol groups have started trying to do those things, with varying degrees of sincerity and success.

Definitely here to support your journey learning about BTS and its members! There's no wrong way to approach the journey, because we all took different paths to get here, and there's so much to see, learn, and really digest. The majority of songs in the group and solo catalogues have depth, and from what I understand, the group always intended that their music reflect their own stories while having messages that any human can relate to, as well. I know when I started really listening to the group in 2020, after Dynamite, I was familiar with a handful of their hit songs, but had never analyzed lyrics, had never listened to livestreams and interviews or seen their documentaries. I learned really quickly how deep and genuine everyone in the group is, and I think the size and passion of ARMY is a testament to that. I hope your journey is filled with a lot of joy and positive vibes!

This is worded perfectly. I feel their pain and daily struggles. It’s not all glamorous. These guys have fought battles to be where they are and had to be what society and Korean culture said they had to be. They just want time now to be their individual selves, but of course when that starts happening for them then they have to pause yet again for mandatory military. They have to be exhausted yet want so bad to keep Army happy and want army to love them just as Much as individuals as we do OT7. Great Reaction D, you are really taking in the lyrics & learning to understand our Tannies. This is a very important album for Joon, Namjoon has always struggled with who he is whether he is a Rapper, a Politician or an Idol or who is Kim Namjoon the civil servant, this song is so beautiful & deep & a true reflection of honesty and a message to ARMYs to explain what he is dealing with mentally atm & that is why we all adore & love him so so much, Joon being my Ultimate bias since 2015 it has been a pleasure to watch him grow as an artist & see his struggles to find his “Real Me”,
the Indigo album is an absolute masterpiece, every track gives you more of an insight into Kim Namjoon, you may also want to check out his other 2 mixtapes RM & Mono. J-Hope & Yoongi also have Mixtapes & solo albums that let you understand who they are as artists. All members write their own lyrics & Namjoon, J-Hope & Yoongi have always self produced their own albums but they do have producers at Big Hit/Hybe that they work closely with as well like Supreme Boi & PDogg.

It’s okay you can pause & talk in between, after all it is a reaction video. Your suspicion was correct. Wild Flower is a sharing of his personal struggles, identity crisis, the pressure/intensity & the loneliness he felt. The lyrics are raw, emotional and heart wrenching that even just as a listener I empathise to him. Wild flower brought us along his roller coaster ride of his 20s (where he climbed to become the biggest band in the world, bringing near bankrupt company to billion $$ company and what it feel like being on top) - the storm, fireworks, barren land, calm flower field. Very deep and personal song. RM has been the groups spokesperson, the main face/shield of BTS and been in the industry for more than a decade - this album Indigo is the last archive of his 20s and rather than living a short lasted fame he want to glow beautify and peacefully like a wildflower.

    6. Butterfly epilogue
    7. Spring day
    8. Blood sweat and tears
    9. You never walk alone
    10. Epilogue: Young forever
I think with this songs you will understand BTS, if you pay attention to their lyrics. In Yet to come, there are references to all those songs, and with that you an see their grow and journey, to end the first chapter of their lives, their youth.
This year they even released a song For Youth, dedicated to them( their youth), to Army, their family, friends, and all the people that were with them.
They have some songs just dedicated to Army too.

I think you are getting the core of the message. Ultimately RM is the only one who knows for sure, but their music has always always been what I trust the most in terms of their communication so I say go with what you got out of the song

Loved how you paused to read all the lyrics. The supportive / real army are kind & respectful and we do not mind how many you pause, how long the video is. The only thing we want is for people to listen and enjoy BTS’s artistry and be respectful. If the person doesn’t like the music, that’s fine. Thank you for a wonderful reaction.

Great reaction. Please don't feel like you can't ask questions at any time. Many of us like watching reactions because it's like seeing the content for the first time again. Part of seeing something for the first time is wondering what's going on and what things mean. Your reaction was thoughtful and insightful. Don't let the haters get you down.

RM Best leader and poet. he is our comfort. I really appreciate your curiosity. the whole album is written by him and it's about his 20s. with the album Indigo he is closing the chapter of his 20s. he will soon turn 30 and enlist in the military. for Koreans, it's kind of like a milestone. becoming a man so to say. Sorry for the extremist. there are Army and then there are solos and Antis. there are also some that claim to be Army but are really not they just do it to make the fandom look crazy and extreme. RM has addressed it several times to ignore, block, and move on from negativity and the real Army follows that motto (orders are orders) that is the best way to differentiate the fandom. in this video alone I saw that you seem to understand RM well. when you have time, I hope you can do a reaction to and see your take on his interview with Pharrell on his Album and journey to fame. . From musician to musician

If you are interested in RM process and thoughts behind each of his songs on his Album Indigo, I recommend watching “RM Indigo Album Magazine Film”. He talks about each song and what it meant to him. RM struggled between his identity between RM and Kim Namjoon. “RM” is the name that he is known by whether it’s for BTS, his music, and as an Artist. “Kim Namjoon” is his real name. In the video I recommended, he talks that this album is something that is truly his and represents who he is as Kim Namjoon.

Yes and he is the main songwriter of BTS in general (although all members especially the rappers contribute) but they also have songwriters jumping in sometimes. But this project is highly personal and it's him, he started as a poet and then turned to rap when he was 13.
I'd highly recommend his solo npr tiny desk

I haven't heard anyone elses take yet but my theory on this video is as follows - At the start he's on high ground and he is surrounded by incredible fireworks in the sky. I think that this refers to the attention and love given to the tannies. The vid gets dark and barren and forboding followed by a storm. Maybe this is the backlash he/they get, maybe making him feel stripped of creativity. I think that the parts which are nature and serene is what he is looking for - what he needs in order to cope with the previous stuff and feel artistically fulfilled. He doesn't want fireworks because they burn bright but burn themselves out, instead he's looking for the peace and serenity of 'flowerworks' ie nature. I too think that the stage and the field comparison is about him understanding the need for balance. There's loads more of course but these are my first thoughts.

First, Thank you for reaction RM's new solo album. 🙏💜RM started rapping at the age of 13 and spent 10 years on stage with BTS.
Hopefully you've already heard the "Yet To Come". RM honestly talked about his feelings in this song. BTS wants to share their happy moments, sad, and hard times with ARMY. They want to share stories as people and people, not stars and fans. This song also conveys what RM thinks and feels at this moment in a song. that gives me comfort again. thank you 💜 감사합니다 💜

Right now all 7 members are doing solo gigs. They are all getting ready for their military mandatory inlistment. So they will all be together again as BTS in 2025. So again this is a perfect time to work on their solo albums or projects. Jin the eldest is already serving his time he will ne finish with military duty June or July 2024. Yes, all of BTS music have very deep messages. 💜
