I love BTS, I'm attracted to RM's brain. Weather he's a Rap Monster or Real Me, he just built different. He's a lyricist so everything he says, sing or rap.. there's a deep meaning behind it. Namjoon is a deep thinker and a poet, his music will always make you think...this song was heartbreaking because he was finally speaking about how he's struggled over the years... Everything goes, Seoul and Tokyo are really good!..still life with Anderson Paak, lonely..ALSO if you're going to read the lyrics i highly recommend you find them off a doolset because she does a deep translation with the cultural references that normal websites don't

RM's voice is naturally very deep but he changes it to a higher pitch to make it more clear. There are videos of him explaining/showing this. Either way I love him.

RM is the pillar, cornerstone, and poet of BTS. I highly recommend his most recent solo album, . This masterpiece, which includes , consists of ten tracks each in a different genre with dynamic composition, and lyrics filled with his sincerity. You will love it. Thank you for this reaction!! : )
First thing to aware about RM..
1. His lyrics are everything.
Look up information about Korean fireworks (flower works) ~ you'll find it so interesting as those are the fireworks he's standing underneath (with his feet in the stream). These are set up on ropes across a stream or river, with technicians in punt boats lighting off twisted fibres containing magnesium and gunpowder from below. the sparks fall downwards, reflecting in the water.
This song brings tears to my eyes as I think of all RM went through being the leader of the group, even though he was the 3rd oldest. He is an incredible lyricist, having over 100 credits to his name. His line, "Memories of holding onto dawn's edge and spitting things out" makes me think of all the pressure he was under all the time to write and produce for the group, while trying to learn the choreography (which was hard for him) and maintain order in the group while being a good example. He was the one everyone counted on to interpret for them as he was the only one who spoke English. The only time we see RM break down and say what he was feeling in his heart and soul was during their final Fiesta 2022, where they revealed they were going to take a break from group activities and concerts and each was going to produce something on their own, before going to the military. They stressed that they would reconvene in 2025 to celebrate a special anniversary event in Busan, Korea. It was at this point that RM broke down in tears as he expressed his wish to take time to get to know who he was and what he could do once more on his own and with other artists.
In this song, he is expressing his desire to have more of an ordinary life, focussing on his own interests, like art collecting, philosophy and reading. He loves nature, as you can see. Anyway, I hope you take the opportunity to delve deeper into RM's album, Indigo. He pairs up with a number of artists from different genres. All stars in their own rights. Our humble leader has such a complex but interesting and intriguing way with words. Not to mention his ability to express them in his lyrics that sometimes makes you think and other times brings out feelings and memories long buried. Argh he’s a rare talent to be honest.

I love RM. RM is s poet and his songs are true art. His indigo and Mono albums are just top notch.
Well, I cried when I first heard this and you HAVE to know the lyrics in RM's songs. Can I suggest you look up the lyrics First if you can't read them while the song is playing, and then react to the song. In the lyrics, RM says one thing that has saved him all along is that he is a Poet and he IS. He's a literal genius and master at word play (in Korean anyway). NAS was who he actually looked up to. Same suggestion for most of BTS stuff and other solos from BTS as well. Jung Kook is the only one who did an all-English album that was produced mostly in the U.S. as well.

RM is a lyrical genius. I know a lot of people are recommending Joke. But I would like to recommend Persona. That song does not get the love that it deserves. I would love for you to check it out. One of the things I love about RMs INDIGO album is every track is a different genre. In INDIGO he gets unexpected people to collaborate. Youjeen is the lead singer of Cherry Filter who does not say yes to collaborating with much younger artists. In fact she doesn't hardly ever say yes to any collaborations. Same with ERYKAH BADU. Yet both agreed because they were highly impressed with RM. By using all these different artists and producers to collaborate RM has produced something new with the album as a whole. Though each track in isolation is a recognisable genre as a whole RM has produced an album much loved by artists and musicians.

Namjoon is a literal genius. (IQ 148). He is very introspective. He's our deep thinker. There is always more than just the words. He is a true rapper. Poet. Storyteller. And his speaking voice is very deep. He is for the mindful. Namjoon has all the Rizz. I think the biggest compliment is you NOT wanting to read the lyrics. It means you are engaged without them. But please do read them. He puts a lot of effort into his lyrics. (Namjoon's fav artist is Nas. ) And he selected the perfect female artist for the song. (She's a rock star.)

Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. RM wrecked us bad. I cried reading the lyrics my 1st read through. Damn, RM! It hurts that he felt this way. Dang it. This brings me back to what he said at Festa Dinner 2022. Youjeen was perfect. Don't know her but she sounded great. I look forward to learning more about her. She is a 46 yo rock singer. She is part of a band. They are legends in Korea. RM is a fan of theirs. By the way he did a live on Weverse too. Not the live i was expecting. 😅Hope u can react to that as well. U can watch it here they posted it. He also did an interview which explains each song. This is my fav song. I've heard a few and they were not catchy to me at 1st. Now i like them all. =0] Hope u check out the full album. Lots of connections with older songs. We shouldn't forget what Namjoon said : INDIGO is his diary of his 20's (of those 4 years). When I watched the Festa dinner I felt this break was more for RM . The whole group needs it to find themselves but I felt RM needed more and to go back to being Kim Nam-Joon then he can come back to being RM with a renewed energy . I think he saying he lost his identity people only think of him as RM , he had to only think of RM and BTS but that not the only part of him he is Kim Nam-Joon as well, he can be both people. That's what I got from it. I could be way off though. It's a beautiful and powerful song. So proud of him.

On his MV 3:03 that's what you call "Nakhwanori" or Traditional Korean Firework festival. Joon wants to pay tribute to the Traditional Koreans who still does this. The 'Nakhwa nori' festival is a traditional fireworks display that is held in May to pray for the well-being and good year of the people. Joon clarified that is not CGI, he has to close his eyes most of the time because it's dangerous for the eyes. Hope you see this comment.

I thought it was brilliant the way he was able to capture the fact that "flower" and "firework" are the same/similar in Korean by inventing the English word "flowerwork" ... and just the whole theme of Fireworks (high in the sky, burning brightly but brief) vs wildflowers (on the ground, blooming repeatedly, able to survive harsh conditions) was brilliantly done. Youjeen's voice is AMAZING, she's the lead vocal on a Korean rock band called Cherry Filter - and those rock vocals are so well used here. It's such an emotional song.

I think if you check our "OUTRO: TEAR" from the rap line, I can't describe the raw passion they have in this song, you have to watch it yourself. This is a live performance as there is no MV. You've gotta check out "Do You" for a showcase of younger RM's skill and swag (as Rap Monster). The video elevates the song, for sure, but it stands on it's own.
In order to truly value this song, you have to know his journey. You are absolutely correct, RM has a different unique perspective on life, and most of his songs take you on an intellectual world perspective. This song was made after BTS took over the world, and RM was going back to basics, his real self. This is a masterpiece of work, and I'm happy that you could feel that without knowing the ins and outs of RM. ❤

I love your reaction to this video. If you want to get to know a little bit more about RM; you need to check out the song "Joke" when he was going by Rap Monster. In this song he was freestyling. RM is so very talented. The way he uses his words to create imagery and his cadence is fire. The rap line for the group (RM, Suga & J-hope) has a Cypher series that is worth listening to. I fully understand where you are coming from in regards to trying to read the words and watch the video at the same time. Another member of BTS that you might want to check out is Suga aka AgustD. He has a self titled song "Agust D" and "Give it to me" that are awesome; along with his trilogy Daechwita, Haegaum and Amygdala. There is such a long list of good songs from all of the members as a group or solo artists that it is hard to narrow it down.

Re subtitles; if you aren't very used to them, try watching things in your own language with them on so you can get faster. if the words on screen match the sounds, you won't need to decode two different things and can just concentrate on the art of reading while watching something. My daughter started doing it with Spongebob when she was 7 or 8 and by the time she got into anime a bit later she was already a pro.
Again, enjoy your reaction and perspective. I want to recommend that you could watch it through for the visual and vibe then rewatch to get the lyrics. We don't mind a long video but we want to see your reaction to the lyrics too. That's too important in 99% of BTS songs. He is such a lyricist and somehow a rapping poet. I think BTS is not for everyone hahaha I don’t want to offend anyone but to understand most of their songs you must be a person who loves to read and investigate . It’s not only reading the lyrics you have to go beyond that, there are a lot of explanation videos. Honestly I can read and listen to the song at the same time but obviously I do listen to the song several times to try to catch the message.
