E-SPACE Productions: I recently finished watching the entire series. Well worth it! It was incredible all of the time and effort they put into this fan series. And I loved the twist ending.
Doctor Puppet This series is amazing. A series with barely any dialogue. Kind of reminds me of Wall-E. But I want to learn how you did the intro. Can you help me out?
How do you get a story about a girl fighting a shape shifting demon form a different world who lives in the walls of an old house to a show about a face changing alien who lives in a time traveling police box?
Brilliant!!! We are ardent DW fans in England from Jon Pertwee times. I've only heard of this from watching NEW DOCTOR WHO, Earth Conquest, tonight but so glad I saw it. You've got brilliant puppets, great story lines and the right moments (who can resist a jelly baby?!) to make us laugh! Sharing on FB
Well, lots of things! They are stop motion puppets shot using a digital SLR camera and Dragonframe software. Everything is composited using After Effects.
I used "Mars" in this, simply because at the time of composition, I wasn't aware of the Glise references. I decided to use the 5/4 ostinato to hint at the red planet! Well spotted! :D In terms of other musical 'call-outs', I havn't really been able to include any. There's a snippet of "I Am The Doctor" in the christmas special, but that's it.
Oh my gosh that was awesome! Tell me there is a continuation of this!!! Wow girl it was really good, congratulation it's just brilliant!Very, VERY well done, you have so much talent and creativity it's wonderful to see.
JellicleKat: The 8th and final episode of this fan series was released a couple of months ago. Trust me, the series is great all the way through, and the twist ending was amazing.
This is amazing. The style, for me, is very reminiscent of Pat and Mat, a children's series of two bumbling neighbors. This gets all of my Less Than Three.
Haha. I'm surprised this has inspired such a discussion about the sonic screwdriver! The way I figured, he scanned the QR code. He scans things with the sonic all the time, so why not a QR code? I bet it would work.
I am a big Doctor WHO fan, and I just watched one of the special features discs in my collection, it was all about fan art. I just subscribed to your site, and am glad to watch Doctor Puppet movies until Series eleven comes along. (even then I will stay tuned to this channel. I have I think almost every FunkoPoP Doctor WHO item, your puppets would make cool collectables :D although I don't think you can sell them; but they are very cool, and I am glad you take the time to make these puppet shows!
lol. Yes, composers pay tribute and use interesting melodic motifs that they like from other composers. I would think John Williams would be more infamous for stealing from himself. He uses a lot of little phrases of his own and just changes the rhythm. Like the Jurassic Park theme is almost exactly the same as the notes from "Harry's Wonderous World".
I can not wait to get home and show this to my 8 year old boy. He loves Doctor Who! This can hold us over till tomorrow night for Doctor Who, Orphan Black, and most important of all people "THE NERDIST"
I'm very glad that you appreciate my music. But I must say, with the exception of the title sequence, there are no references to any existing Doctor Who scores. I'd love to hear where you draw the similarities though! Who knows where things might have slipped through? :P
Thanks! Yes, it's stop motion animation. Glad you like the music! Check out my channel for more episodes including behind-the-scenes videos about the animation, puppets, and music!
Thanks everyone! Be sure to watch Episode 2 and subscribe over on my channel! :)
I love the detail of the puppets. You can only tell by the movement which doctor it is!
It all started as a mild curiosity on TH-cam...and now it's turn into quite a...quite a great spirit of adventure, don't you think?
E-SPACE Productions: I recently finished watching the entire series. Well worth it! It was incredible all of the time and effort they put into this fan series. And I loved the twist ending.
Charming. You capture the kindness and curiosity of our beloved Doctor. Please keep it up.
HE DIDN'T MAKE THIS
We need a rose Tyler puppet

Glad you spotted that, when I wrote the score I didn't think anyone would get it :)
Well, lots of things! They are stop motion puppets shot using a digital SLR camera and Dragonframe software. Everything is composited using After Effects.
Thank-you!
I'm glad you like it, I figured River should sound quite sassy! :)
Thanks!
Omg his face and the music when he thinks it's River Song is PRICELESS. And the ending, I AM SO INTRIGUED!
I used "Mars" in this, simply because at the time of composition, I wasn't aware of the Glise references. I decided to use the 5/4 ostinato to hint at the red planet!
Well spotted! :D

Great work this should be on the DVDs Poor Clara, still can't get those soufflés done right
Considering the 50th anniversary special, you're surprisingly accurate with this...

A little yes, but primarily Gershwins Rhapsody In Blue.
When it was sent to me a lot of the temp score was Elfman :)
Haha really? True, it is hard to top UK animation in terms of originality. I'm crazy jealous of you guys!
Never thought 10 & 11 could possibly get anymore adorable. Keep it coming!
I just love how at the end David is like SUP!
Haha well thanks for watching anyway! It's a fun show. You should give it a shot. :)
Great to hear! :)
This realy remind me of old kids tv shows i used to watch when i was younger. I love it!
Thank-you so much! We will. :)
One of sweetest series on TH-cam!
That's awesome! Thanks!
Well put!
Sounds like a marvelous idea to me. :)
The puppet style seems to be a reference to something I might be able to put my finger on if I'd grown up with the CBBC.
very nice animation!
Guess i've found what I'm going to be watching and replaying endlessly until the 50th anniversary special!
All lovely suggestions. :)
Thank you Radio Free Skaro for telling me about Doctor Puppet, this is awesome!
Yup, that's the star system he goes to!
Oh my gosh that was awesome! Tell me there is a continuation of this!!! Wow girl it was really good, congratulation it's just brilliant!Very, VERY well done, you have so much talent and creativity it's wonderful to see.

Wow! Such a great job! Especially on the screwdriver!
Oh my goodness, this is simply precious.
This is so charming in a Rankin Bass kind of way! I love Doctor who!
Yes, Puppet Clara! No particular version though. Maybe she's version 4?

That was sooo adorable! It looked amazing, and Tenny still looks hot, even as a puppet!
Puppets are cool!
Haha. I'm surprised this has inspired such a discussion about the sonic screwdriver! The way I figured, he scanned the QR code. He scans things with the sonic all the time, so why not a QR code? I bet it would work.

I never knew Doctor Who could be SO ADORABLE.
I love the burlesque music that plays when he thinks of River!!
Claymation, just like the Christmas shows of the 60's! Cool man.
Love it!!! I showed this to my sister and the first thing she said is "that's exactly what I pictured David tennant as a puppet"

Indeed! :)
I thought of the QR code more as an "activator," controlling on the TARDIS and revealing the message.
Yup. Why not? He had to go some place.
i love how he immediately thinks of river when he finds the note
I saw you guys holding this puppet at the Laika event @ the Academy Animation Series yesterday, and I fangirled a bit! Awesome stuff!
