    Omg. I just want to say, after two days of struggling to connect my HDMI ARC cable from the sound bar to the tv, I got to 1:53 and saw I could connect my Xbox to the sound bar… so I tried hooking up the optical while the hdmi arc was still connected to the tv, and BAM IT WORKED! I don’t seem to even need the hdmi arc connected to the tv at all anyways?! Soooo, thank you. You made my family soooo happy!!!!

    • @abtelectronics
      @abtelectronics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi gerry macpherson. It depends on the TV, but a lot of them allow you to use the TV speakers with the soundbar. It doesn't always sound great doing that though. But Samsung, for example, has a technology called Q-Symphony on some of their TVs and soundbars that is designed to specifically use everything together. Good afternoon Abt. I have an RCA RLDEDV3255-A-E LED TV/DVD Combo and have purchased a LG SN7R Soundbar. Firstly, I can’t see where on my TV that I might choose “External Speakers”. The TV is older but does have 3 regular HDMI ports. It does not have an Optic port. I hooked the HDMI to the TV and to the HDMI Input on the soundbar but can’t seem to get to work. I’m sure it’s just a setting but I’ve downloaded and read all of the manuals and still can’t seem to get the Soundbar to work. Just wondering if you can provide some guidance as I’m getting frustrated.

    Thanks for the video. One thing always bugged me. If you are connecting a soundbar to a TV, it means you want to listen to TV audio through soundbar and NOT soundbar audio through TV speaker. If that is the case, shouldn't the TV have HDMI ARC Out and soundbar have HDMI ARC IN considering you are basically outputting TV audio and inputting it to soundbar? But all soundbars have only HDMI ARC Out. Why is that?

    • @abtelectronics
      @abtelectronics  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Naveen Naushad. The ARC is on the output of the soundbar so you can plug a source into the soundbar's HDMI input. It makes it so that you aren't losing an HDMI input on the TV when you use one for your soundbar. The audio of the source you have plugged into the soundbar's input will come straight out of the soundbar, but the audio from anything plugged directly into the TV will come back to the soundbar through the ARC. I hope this helps.
      Thanks for watching!

    So I have a HDMI wire going from the Directv receiver going into the IN port on the Sony soundbar, and a HDMI wire going from the OUT on the soundbar to the TV. Getting sound out of the soundbar while watching programs on Directv, my question is, how do I get sound out of the soundbar while using the TH-cam app on the tv? As this isn't happening. Thank You, Rob

    I have a Comcast Xfinity X1 cable box ----> Vizio 5.1 sound Bar --- > TV . When I go tot bed at night, I power down the TV and soundbar. During the night when I am sleeping, Comcast sends daily updates to the cable box, which in return sends a signal to the soundbar, which automatically powers on the soundbar and starts sending TV audio to the soundbar , and the TV is still powered off. Is there a way to stop sending audio to the soundbar from Comcast Xfinity cable box during the middle of the night ?

    Love my RSB-11 soundbar, but it recently stopped working with the remote. So I can’t control any of the Klipsch remote functions to it. I even had it programmed to where the Directv remote was able to control the volume, but that stopped working too. I did a “reset” on the soundbar and it reset the subwoofer volume, but didn’t fix the issue. Now I can’t increase the Klipsch subwoofer volume to get that awesome “bass” sound because the remote functions still don’t work. Any ideas, suggestions or recommendations? Please help! Question, I have a set top cable box and an Xbox one that I want to output sound to my new soundbar. Given there is only 1 HDMI In on the Soundbar I am purchasing how do I go about making sure my sound bar is getting audio from both sources? Can I just plug the 2 devices directly into the back of the TV as I do now and plug in an HDMI between the TV(ARC) and Soundbar (ARC) Will this send the audio from both to the soundbar?

    • @abtelectronics
      @abtelectronics  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ovanite33. For your setup I would suggest plugging both into the TV and then run an optical cable from the "audio out" on the TV to the "audio in" on the soundbar. You can try to use the HDMI ARC, but it doesn't always work like it's supposed to when you set it up this way. I hope this helps and thanks for watching! -Carl

    • @Ovanite33
      @Ovanite33 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok, thank you for the help. My soundbar comes with an optical cable and I have an extra HDMI laying around; so if the HDMI doesn't work I'll just use the optical. The soundbar offers HDMI Control so that I can control it using my TV Remote if I connect the 2 via HDMI; so that is the preferred choice. If that doesn't work I'll just use the optical cable.

    • @Ovanite33
      @Ovanite33 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Got my soundbar and set up was as easy as it gets. I was able to just use the HDMI ARC. I purchased the Yahama ATS-1060 which from what I have gathered is the same as the YAS-106. As soon as I plugged in the HDMI between the 2 ARC ports the TV immediately recognized it and assigned the soundbar to be the audio source. Using the ARC also ties the ON/OFF and UP/Down volume controls to tv so no need to use the included soundbar remote outside of fine tuning and bluetooth because I can just use my cable or tv remote as I did before adding the soundbar. Works great!

  • @Val_kyriee

    Why do you assume that all TVs have ARC? How does one connect a HDMI ARC enabled Soundbar to a TV that only has normal HDMI? Assuming that one does not want to use the available 3.5 mm headphone jack/aux cable as that will not give 5.1/3.1 sound?

    I have a 2015 RCA TV ,42" it came with a ROKU stick built in the back. Anyway I just bought an RCA SOUNDBAR , I tried connecting with RED/WHITE Audio plugs from soundbar, and plugging into the Red/white In the back of the TV , NO GO, NO sound nothing. The Tv does not have the Digital audio plug option.
    I end up trying my DIRECTV box with the Audio red/white Plugs and sounds comes through fine.
    My issue though is Since I use a FIRESTICK a lot When I change the input to FIRESTICK to use The sound from that wont come through the soundbar.
    I even turned the bluetooth on at the soundbar, then bluetooth on my cell phone, But on my phone it gave me no option to choose the soundbar to connect and push music through(I was just testing that)
    What Could be the issue?
    I think I am going to buy the Red/white audio plugs on 1 end and a Headphone jack plug on other end, connect it to the TV that way.
    bEFORE I bought this sound bar I was using a High quality set of computer speakers on the TV, And had to Plug into the Headphone jack on the TV to output sound through them. Which worked great for everything.
    Like I said ATM I am only getting my DirecTV Box audio.
    Do U have any idea what could be the issue connecting direct to the TV? It works fine as said with Direc Tv box.
    Any info would be great.. Thanks.

    I have an Aukey HDMI Splitter connected to a Projector, neither of which support ARC. If I wanted to introduce a sound bar, or a 5.1 Surround system, what's the best way to get started?

    • @abtelectronics
      @abtelectronics  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Christopher. You mention there's a splitter hooked up. Is that sending video to two different sources or did you mean an HDMI switcher? If it's a switcher that allows you to select from multiple HDMI sources to go to the projector then you'd want to make sure the soundbar you select has enough HDMI inputs to accommodate all your sources. Typically receivers have at least 3 HDMI inputs, but it's harder to find that on a soundbar. Either one would take the place of the switcher. As for which one to choose, it depends on what kind of experience you want. The soundbar is easy to set up, but doesn't generally provide as good a soundstage. A good 5.1 system would be much more immersive, but can cost quite a bit more in some cases. I hope this helps. Make sure to check them all out at www.abt.com Thanks for watching! -Carl

    what hdmi cable is suitable for the soundbar?

    Hey mate, I'm a little confused. I have a playstaion and cable tv in my room and will be putting a sound bar in soon. my question is does the tv have to be on my hdmi arc input for the soundbar to work ?

    • @abtelectronics
      @abtelectronics  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Josh. It's supposed to work whether you're on that input or not, but each TV is different. If it's possible with your soundbar, the best way to hook everything up and use the ARC would be to plug your components into the soundbar's inputs then run an HDMI cable from the soundbar's ARC to the ARC on the TV. That way you'll definitely get sound through the soundbar for all the components plugged into it, plus any smart features you're using on the TV should play through the soundbar as well. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching! -Carl

      Abt Electronics Hi I was looking at two soundbars with 4k passthrough. The Sony NT-HT5 and Yamaha YSP 2700. Do you know if these soundbars pass Dolby Vision through??

    I have a 2011 50" LG Plasma with HDMI (not Arc) and an Apple TV (4th Gen). Should I hook the Apple TV to the soundbar HDMI then soundbar to my TV?

    • @abtelectronics
      @abtelectronics  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi 77dris. Yes, that would be a good way of setting them up. You can still hook the Apple TV up to the TV first and then run an optical audio cable back to the soundbar if you wanted, but the HDMI route would be an easier setup I think. Thanks for watching! -Carl

    TV does not have: optical or HDMI (ARC)
    TV has: 3 HDMI ports and AUX
    Sound Bar has: 1 HDMI and 1 HDMI (ARC)
    I would like to connect my TV, XBOX, and Blue Ray to the sound bar through HDMI, so would an HDMI extractor be a good option?
    Thanks!

    • @abtelectronics
      @abtelectronics  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi C Johnson. It sounds like you might need an HDMI switcher that has a few inputs. You can plug in your XBOX, Blue Ray player and Cable Box into that first and from there run an HDMI to your soundbar. Then an HDMI from your soundbar to your TV. If your TV doesn't have an optical output or an HDMI ARC there won't be any way for you to get sound from the TV to the soundbar. You'll have to go from the soundbar to the TV. I hope this helps and thanks for watching! -Carl

    All my HDMI ports are filled on my Samsung One Connect Box but it has optical as does my new soundbar. Will I be able to default the audio from the optical connection to all my HDMI’s or will I have to manually change it in settings every time I switch from say HDMI2 to HDMI4?

    *experts says audio converter output is not good quality.
    *i'm planning to buy iBELL 265SB sound bar having only HDMI(no hdmi arc). will it Hook with tv to produce digital sound quality ?

      ARC "backfeeds" whatever you hear from the TV, as you move among the TV's "Source/Input" selections. If you pay for TV and have their set-top box, simply "loop though/ hook in-line" the soundbar, and setTop box repeats out of the soundbar...

    Hello, Abt, I have a minor issue and I hope you can help. My sound bar and TV each only have a single HDMI port. The TV's is not ARC. Is it impossible to make this work? I went to Best Buy and asked the gentleman there if I needed a splitter so that the sound bar could piggyback off the TV's HDMI input but he said I cannot do this. Any ideas? -Joe

    • @abtelectronics
      @abtelectronics  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi joebro391. If your TV doesn't have an HDMI port with ARC it makes it difficult. I'm not familiar with any soundbars that have a single HDMI port as their only source. Typically there would be an optical or analog input as well. Have you checked to make sure there isn't another connection hidden somewhere on the soundbar? -Carl

    • @joebro391
      @joebro391 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well the soundbar (Sony CT390) has a HDMI port and an optical port, as well as in analog IN. The TV does not have an optical port to connect with, just the HDMI (which is where all my video inputs come from) and a bunch of analog audio outs. I could splice the analog audio outs to a male analog in connector, but I imagine the sound quality would not have nearly the resolution.

    NEED HELP! When mine gets plugged in HDMI ARC it pops up as RECEIVER HDMI and then quickly changes over to AV Soundbar. I had it under RECEIVER HDMI last night and it performed perfectly with Dolby digital on all devices. When it stays as AV it's horrible....and won't perform with Dolby digital on everything. Any help?

    • @abtelectronics
      @abtelectronics  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Stephanie. If your TV doesn't have an analog output then you'll have to use an optical cable. It's a better signal than analog anyways, so that's not a bad thing, but you'll need to invest in an optical cable if you don't already have one. Make sure to double check the accessories that came with your soundbar as a lot of manufacturers provide an optical cable with the speaker. We also carry them if you need: www.abt.com/product/103442/AudioQuest-Pearl-Series-0.75-Meter-2.5-Feet-Digital-Optical-Cable-OPTPEARLPOINT75M.html This would work well if your speaker is right under the TV. Thanks for watching! -Carl

    • @hellodontkillme9273
      @hellodontkillme9273 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think some soundbars have extra HDMI ports so you can plug in those systems into the soundbar and then plug it into the TV. But there are also soundbars that don’t use HDMI so that might be a better option if you’re considering it
