We live in a post-pandemic high inflation semi-recession economy. There are still worker (labor) shortages, supply chain disruptions, and low supply of semiconductor chips at an overly high demand for everything electronic and on 4 wheels.
Do you think Acura intentionally priced it like that? I don't even think they wanted to price it like that. I'm sure they wanted to start off between $46,000-$47,000 starting. As long as worker labor is short, everything is high, and semiconductor chips are low and demand for everything is high, this is what the end result gives us.
I'm not saying I agree with the pricing either, but there are cars that are way worse for the price, less reliable, and everything in between. If you haven't noticed around you, this is what a post-pandemic high inflation semi-recession world looks like. Unless worker labor rises up (to where people are properly paid what they should be getting to meet the cost of goods and cost of living), until supply chains get on a rebound, and until demand and supply meet in the middle or there is more than enough supply to meet demand, this is the end result we are left with as a society. In the end, it is not Acura's fault that the Integra Type S had to be priced this way.
