First time hearing this I had tears in my eyes and I dont know why. I'm just so happy Phoenix' Music is in my life for over 15 years since I'm 10 years old. Thank you for existing guys ❤ You made my life a better one.
Many years ago around 2006 I was in a pawn shop and bought a DVD of Lost in translation starring Bill Murray and Scarlett johansson. Somewhere in that movie You hear too Young by Phoenix play. That's where the journey started for me LOL
I agree, this song reminds me of a song that should be part of it’s never been like that/ bankrupt albumI’m glad that they still keep their original sound.
Fell in love with this song the moment I heard it. It is also the kind of song my brother would have loved. He passed 5 years ago and I still can't get over it. I don't think I ever will.
I'm almost 58. I've been listening to Phoenix from their inseption. l love them because they remind me of the times, in my young life, when music was played on the RADIO. They has a nostalgic power pop sound that is incredibly infectious.
Im 32 years old heard them the first time in graphic design class in highschool by one of the "cool" kids hahaha been listening ever since and they still move me
Alpha Zulu is an incredible album! What a gift. I agree with other that this is one of the best songs. I love that I am able to listen to the album from start to finish without skipping a single song! Just like the last 3 albums! Thank you for the consistency, Phoenix! ❤M
I honestly didn't identify that much with the album Ti Amo (2017), although I followed and listened to everything. Alpha Zulu reiterated that Phoenix will never stop being good, there are moments that remind me of It's Never Been Like That, after Alphabetical and United. Thank you, I am very moved by the feeling that this album causes me, beyond all, happiness.❤
I was on an edible when I saw them for the first time in 2017 in DC and definitely got emotional during Lovelife. This would be the same! Melancholy bliss
Thank you for visiting Chile, it was an intimate concert where we were able to play Thomas, what he does is too beautiful, I hope you come back soon because I will be there,
Funky Squaredance by Phoenix. Look it up. Such an under appreciated song. God that song was my life for over a decade it feels like. A 3 part, 3 genre sonata-esque masterpiece that was so incredibly ahead of its time Happy to hear new music from Phoenix. Always happy to hear new jams from old friends.
LYRICS (Johann Sebastian Phoenix) Somewhere, somewhere, somewhere to go Many years ago Would you allow? Could you allow? That's what they're like Did you look? Did you look? Heavenly, heavenly sort of sounds adolescent Well, I told you not, not to look from the start? When the sun is almost gone it's way too much Enough said Enough sense It's unconventional When the sun is almost gone it's not enough Suddenly, finally without a yell I'll listen That's what we're like in broad daylight Soon you'll realize It's after midnight My memories, souvenirs, some originals High up in the rows Idolized, canonized That morning rise I told you not I told you not No veneer behind the mirror Did you call from a distance? Well, I told you not, not to look from this side When the sun is almost gone it's way too much Enough said Enough sense It's unconditional When the sun is almost gone it's not enough Suddenly, finally without a yell I'll listen That's what we're like in broad daylight Soon you'll realize It's after midnight Listen, it's illicit Listen, listen, it's illicit Listen, listen, it's illicit Listen, listen, listen Listen, it's illicit Listen, listen, it's illicit Listen, listen, it's illicit Listen, listen, listen That's what we're like in broad daylight Soon you'll realize It's after midnight
Le groupe Phoenix est vraiment un bonheur. La vidéo est sophistiqué à foison et ne parlons pas du son qui est juste pro . C'est fantastique. Le groupe semble tellement avoir de bonnes influences musicales . Ils sont forts. Bravo.
This is the first/only song by Phoenix I've heard (to my knowledge) thanks to @alexrainbirdMusic. I appreciate the 80's style drums (I think it creates the "nostalgic" feeling another user mentioned) combined with the modern vocal engineering. Excellent song, folks. I'll definitely look up more of your stuff.
The fact that this song can still sound nostalgic even when it’s first released… amazes me😳
100%
It's called an analogue synthesizer. It's what gives you that fuzzy nostalgia.
Damn so that’s the feeling.. wow
Genius
80s vibe, that's why feels nostalgic

everlasting buzzing. ❤️🦚
I cry too, but si for this song is a peacefull
True, true
No greater truth than this. I'm also truly grateful for their music
The chorus need to be put on repeat… the song is criminally too short !!! ❤
Definitely the best song of the album to me.. it has all that right kind of vibes from Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix and Bankrupt mixed together
Yes!! 🎉
And with a video that recalls It’s Never Been Like That.
Yeah! This song defines perfectly the sound of Phoenix.
I don’t know how Phoenix keeps doing it this good after all this time.
Phoenix's consistency is amazing
for me it's the best song on the album so far. on repeat since the release.
I agree, this song reminds me of a song that should be part of it’s never been like that/ bankrupt albumI’m glad that they still keep their original sound.

This song just slapped me in the face. BEAUTIFUL 🤩
One of the best off Alpha Zulu, stunning music video; fits the song perfectly.
Yes, a lot of energy. Very 80's.
Phoenix is my favourite band of all times!! Thanks for your music guys, today is a day of joy!! Please come back to Perú 🇵🇪 on 2023!!

Dear godddd this is incredible. Feels so nostalgic. I’m in love.
My god,I cannot wait 'til tomorrow....

I don’t normally get this amped from a song but I don’t remember the last time I heard a song this good.
this video deserves 1+ million views, i cant stress that enough

Ese concierto estará alucinante!!
Five months late but damn!!! Thank you, Phoenix! Love seeing this evolution.
i heard this song at work & i instantly fell in love
Hell yeah another pheonix song to listen to over and over, I must have played alpha Zulu 500 times by now!
It really was a great music video and perfectly matched this equally amazing song. Gonna go listen to the album on loop now!
I lived in Tokyo for 5 years and I can say this is a pretty accurate representation of how it feels
2:28 slays me again and again
love from Japan.
we've waiting for you guys!!
maybe their best song i fear and they have a lot of those
One of the best, period. Beautiful stuff.
I just know I'll cry my eyes out when I hear them playing this song live.

Wow I love the visuals

This might sound efortlees and yet it's a banger. Phoenix still got it.
Honestly, the new album is really growing on me.
A simple video but it's so perfect for this song.
Este tema deberia tener miles de millones de vistas, insolito
In the good moments, in the bad moments, Phoenix.
Bing bop goes the sound of this jingle-jangle
Ive rediscovered Phoenix and this track makes me wonder why I drifted away from them. Absolute tune. Gonna have to check out their new album.
Never thought I’d be seeing AE86s in a Phoenix MV! Coupe and Hatch loveeeeee
Phoenix did it again this is awesome
This song is great
I was in concert march 18th 🥲, and was amazing. Thank you guys for being the best live. Greetings from Chile

Twenty years since I first became aware of Phoenix through Lost in Translation, it’s great to see them back in Japan
That’s when I discovered them too. Great minds think alike. Love and respect from San Diego
This song makes me feel like I'm flying. It makes me feel so freeeeee
Que gran tema 🔥 lo escuché en radio doble nueve 😁 saludos desde Lima Perú 🇵🇪⭐
Doble 9 la mejor en nuevas canciones.
This is by far the best song of the Alpha Zulu album! Agree? 🤘
Totally agree

Literally everything they do is ahead of it’s time… haha 🥹🙏
I listen to this masterpiece everyday just to feel something
Sound like interpretation of Hard to Explain by Strokes. Love it.
wtf thats my favorite strokes song. maybe that's why i like this song so much...

Gotta be one of my favorites from this album so far
I'm leaving this comment here so after a month or a year when someone likes it, I get reminded of this song ❤
You're welcome haha
It's good to know they're back. They are one of my favorite bands ⚜️

Phoenix music video of an AE86 in Japan... didn't expect it but I'm all for it!

Their music always make me happy. Thank you phoenix
Ooooohhhh! That's what we're like!
One of those videos where I check the credits for directing just after a couple of seconds. Perfect capture of Tokyo.
Bankrupt vibeeee!
i love u guys with all my heart
Phoenix ❤️
I actually prefer the live version of this song now. That’s how talented Phoenix are.
The aesthetic of the video reminds me of the traffic scene of Solaris and also Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation
Because it was clearly recorded on the streets of Tokyo
His wife is Sophia Coppola
