It blends well with a soccer game. One of the songs that was on nhl 22 I added to an mlb 22 the show type music playlist before finding out it was also on mlb the show 22
To me, it has the joy of "It's Never Been Like That" mixed with the pop sensibility of "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix" and the daring of "Bankrupt!" This is a masterclass in indie-pop songwriting.

It's interesting how the pre-chorus section has 6 measure phrases: "I played all the games / and lost almost everything / now I talk to myself and it's quite surprising", while the chorus & verses use a regular 4 measure phrase. I love the back and forth between vocalists too - great duet 😁

I bought every fifa game since fifa14 and i must say that fifa23 got one of the best if not the best soundtrack of every fifa game we have seen in the last decade. This is purely personnal but i cant compliment enough the mix of old golden hits pairing with the new fresh and diverse hits, its a marvelous soundtrack. This song is one of my top 3, glad i've got to know Pheonix in 2023.

Phoenix is my favorite modern day band. I first discovered them through Wolfgang and 1901 while in college and it blew me away. I met a great person, we fell in love and she introduced me to "It's Never Been Like That." I had an amazing summer which was accompanied to "Bankrupt!" Now I hear this song and it feels like Phoenix again will be a partner to my life and that makes me very happy. I think of how this band and their music has had such a positive influence on my life and it makes me want to cry - it's why we love and cherish the bands and music we do. -

I have been a fan since reading a Daft Punk interview in 2001 when they were asked what there favourite album was and they said it was Phoenix United - I promptly went out and purchased it so good as I had just ended a five year relationship & I felt half the tracks were written for me , that was 22 years ago and they still sound fantastic

Sometimes, that's what it takes, some processing at odd hours to help me pay attention to what I'm feeling, with the least amount of distraction possible. Anyways, I'm in love with this track a lot more than Alpa Zulu.
