Don't need to buy property or Vietnamese passport. I have a friend (swiss nationality) and former UN Interpreter. He has been living in Saigon for 4 years. Since the US and Vietnam has a treaty that allows for avoidance of double taxation, as a retiree in Vietnam if I keep up with my US tax filings, do I pay ANY tax to the Vietnam government? Note that I will have no earned income at all (not working in Vietnam in retirement).
What about the change coming that limits stays in Vietnam to only 30 days at a time? Has this changed or is there a way around doing a visa run every 30 days?
We will have to wait for the worldwide pandemic to halt and international tourism to resume. However, it depends on the type of visa you are and the passport you hold as well.
Hi Ken, Thanks for the information. Is health insurance available for a foreigner (with a long term visa) buy insurance after the age of 75? When I was living in VIetnam, the visa could be solved but could never find coverage after age 75. Thus, you are living in VIetnam uninsured (self insuring the risk with your cash). Didn’t sound like a logical solution for me. Is this correct or is there coverage available now for purchase?
Here’s my issue that maybe you can help with. I’m retired, married to a Vietnamese citizen. Bought a condo in DaNang. I have a 5 year visa. We also live in Seattle. You can drive with an international driving license. If you are married to a Vietnamese citizen, you can apply for a Vietnam passport. Please browse our channel, as we made several videos about the Vietnam passport.
What are the restrictions on the cambodian side, like quarantines vaccinations, mask, etc, and is it gauranteed re-entry into Vn. on a visa run to renew a visa. Weren’t they planning on going to 30 days instead of every 90 days? I was really interested in staying in Vietnam and I heard that so looking into Thailand.
tube1848 there are many US and other international companies that provide health insurance in Vietnam, such as AIA, Generali, Manulife and others. The insurance can be used in Vietnam and internationally.
From Nha Trang it takes 32 hours to do a visa run , every 3 months . Obviously not this year but that’s what we have to do normally . You can get a 3 month visa extension but the price is way to expensive now .

what is the minimum amount for required investment in company or own business..says cafe or restaurant or retail to get business visa? i am not interested in work visa or working for company in Vietnam; however, i really like the option of business visa. Second, I was told many time, buying a land or home properties is impossible in Vietnam but apartment or condo during my fourth visits there last Feb; however, you have mentioned that buying a land is possible for 50 years lease and optional to renew one time. This is a new thing I've ever heard. I have been to most of the places in Vietnam. My first and second choices are Da Nang and Da Lat. Is it possible to purchase the land there to build a dream home?
WoW Factor the minimum investment for business visa is $129,000 USD. YES, the law changed in July 2017 to allow for foreigners certain ownership rights with many restrictions. We have teams to help clients buy land and build homes in Vietnam. If you need help, please leave us your email. Thank you.
Make Money By Investing in Stocks not likely, however, as all land is constructive owned by the government, they could take it back with justification.
The law in Vietnam is not so stable. The diplomatic relation between America and Vietnam is better compared to 10 years ago. Things can change a few years in the future. There is a little American government can do if your property is confiscated for some reason. Look at China, American government does very little when it comes to intellectual property doing business in China. Buying property is a long term commitment. If you don’t have Vietnamese citizenship, you can only lease the land. You can own the house you live. Max term of land lease is 100 years.

Yes, we will cover that in future videos. Please subscribe to our channel so that you don't miss it. In the meantime, you can watch our latest video about Vietnam's response to the pandemic to give you a glimpse of the importance of healthcare in Vietnam. th-cam.com/video/KimyOZgNwx8/w-d-xo.html
Easier access to health care is one of the key benefits about living outside the US.
Thanks for the advice, brother! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Hi Sir, thank you for sharing your professional knowledge! I'm a retired US Air Force Combat Veteran, my only source of income is from my military retirement. Long story short, I'm originally from Vietnam, and I just recently gotten married to a Vietnamese woman in Dong Thap, April 24th, 2022.. I currently have a 5 year visa, and a 10 year passport. I wanted to know if I can use your services in accompanying me legitimately to live in Vietnam long term, without risking my US Citizenship being revoked.. Please advise! Thank you Sir..

Great bit of information. I plan on both building a business in Vietnam and retire there as a Viet Kieu and take advantages of the low cost and high energy of the Saigon. I would like to get more information as to you company's services and I move forward with creating a new manufacturing company.
Rob Lowry we sent you an email. Please check.
Rob Lowry we have sent you quite a few emails, did you get it?
@@duongglobalbusinessconsulting Yes. I did receive the information and am contemplating on dual citizenship for the sake of my business. I am currently trying to locate and communicate with some Vietnamese manufacturers.

Wow...can’t believe I didn’t find this channel sooner. Definitely subscribing. We made enough in the US (through real estate, consulting, entrepreneurship, etc) to start planning the transition to semi-retiring in VN. We’ll definitely have to connect and strategy on how we can help each other. Looking forward to seeing more of you videos. Keep it up.

Great info. Never thought about the tax implications. I would like to know about cell phone service and Dish networks in English.
A. J. Savage cell phone has 4g and 5g in a few years. Prices are reasonable between $10-25$ per month.
There is NETFLIX and also you can subscribe to DISH and other cable networks as well, as SMART TVs are abundant and available.
Lots of changes in Vietnam in coming years so we hope in entry policy or retirement or even buying a property is more simple than we are dealing now. I’m Vietnamese too. We would look forward to retiring in mother country 🙏🙏❤️🇨🇦💯
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Good video. Very good information on tax liability for expats. Everyone else provides calculation on what it will cost to live 'here' or 'there' you are the first to mention the taxes.
Thanks for watching! We are glad it was informative. We will be uploading more content about taxes for expats. If you want to get to know more about the topic, please consider subscribing. It's tax free!

Hi Ken,
Can a Vietnam_born boat person that left with parents during the war apply for Vietnamese citizenship 40 years later as an adult?
Hello David, thanks for your comment. Yes, you might. Please send us an email at contact@duongbusinessconsulting.com explaining your case and we can determine whether you can get it.
Since the US and Vietnam has a treaty that allows for avoidance of double taxation, as a retiree in Vietnam if I keep up with my US tax filings, do I pay ANY tax to the Vietnam government?
Note that I will have no earned income at all (not working in Vietnam in retirement).
No.
you should look into the Canadian market too.
Thanks Mr ken talking about living in Vietnam

What about the change coming that limits stays in Vietnam to only 30 days at a time? Has this changed or is there a way around doing a visa run every 30 days?
Yes. Any replies ?
We will have to wait for the worldwide pandemic to halt and international tourism to resume. However, it depends on the type of visa you are and the passport you hold as well.

Hi Ken,
Thanks for the information.
I cannot seem to get a drivers license or a residency card. I am told that because I do not work, I cannot get a residency card. Without a residency card, I cannot get a drivers license.
You can drive with an international driving license. If you are married to a Vietnamese citizen, you can apply for a Vietnam passport. Please browse our channel, as we made several videos about the Vietnam passport.
Thanks for uploading this wonderful video. Question is as a professional how can I get work permit for Vietnam
Saibal Chakraborty you just need to work for a company and have a labor contract.
What are the restrictions on the cambodian side, like quarantines vaccinations, mask, etc, and is it gauranteed re-entry into Vn. on a visa run to renew a visa.
And are there flights to Thailand and return flights to Vn. with guaranteed re-entry to Vn at the airport.
Would I have to take my suitcase on a visa run, just in case Im denied re-entry. 😂😂
I hope you dont mind all the questions
I m looking at retirement in a few years. Is Vietnam stock marker open to foreigners? I m from Canada but was born in Saigon.
Not me. I'm retired and staying in Huntington Beach California USA.
Hi Ken, what about an annual visa 1yr? Do you still have to exit the country every 90 days? Can you fly to Bangkok and do your visa work there or must it be a land border crossing? Thanks for the great intel. Out.
Eric Everson yes even with 1 year visa you still need to exit every 90 days, but you can go to any border outside of Vietnam. Thailand is a quick and easy destination. Also there is the Cambodia visa run.
Great video
Thanks for the visit

Are you saying that Vietnam will tax your retirement income from the U.S. after you've filed and paid your taxes in the U.S.?
Perhaps I'm outdated asking this question, but can you (still) get a multi-entry 1 year BUSINESS visa which allows you to stay without having to leave the country every 3 months? If so, can you detail that here please? I'm an American coming from America, btw.
So if I apply for a business visa 5 year, can I open a bank account there? Can I get a local post paid sim card?

Great video but you missed one point: Health Insurance
How the healthcare system works in Vietnam?
tube1848 there are many US and other international companies that provide health insurance in Vietnam, such as AIA, Generali, Manulife and others. The insurance can be used in Vietnam and internationally.
From Nha Trang it takes 32 hours to do a visa run , every 3 months . Obviously not this year but that’s what we have to do normally . You can get a 3 month visa extension but the price is way to expensive now .
32 hours LOL
Is it true, that Vietnam doesn’t allow duo passports? I was born and left Vietnam when I was young. I would like to become a Vietnamese citizen again to live and invest there, but I don’t want to denounce my Canadians citizenship yet. Your video gives me hope. Thank you.
You can be Canadian/American AND having citizenship & passport of Vietnam. Totally legal to have dual Citizenship.
As a viet kieu, this is a great video...but can you do a video about sponsoring a viet wife over to the usa?

it is definitely down to Vietnam or Thailand.

what is the minimum amount for required investment in company or own business..says cafe or restaurant or retail to get business visa? i am not interested in work visa or working for company in Vietnam; however, i really like the option of business visa.
Thank you.
If one is born in VN, can one obtain dual citizenship from the US?

Mr Duong, can my property be taken away by the government if they want it to?

Yes. Communist unstable government. You never know.
