Great one! Absolutely spot-on! I told Mary at Dan's that you are one of the best promoters they have! They know it! True hard was on my bucket list....but I got sidetracked when Mary told me that she had talked to the production manager and they had an 8X3X1 Washita.....and I nailed it. I've had good luck with getting Dan's stones from Taylor Tool Works ....I've got Amazon Prime and saved some $$$....I got a 6X2X1 soft/hard combo for the shelf over the sideboard for touching up paring knives and such....it's super. But, I noticed when tracking shipment, that Taylor has ditched Amazon Prime....just thought I'd put that out there. And Amazon has been monkeying with USPS tracking...making themselves look good for their "guaranteed delivery". So: Better to order directly from Dan's! I just dumped a bunch of subscriptions...you know who one of them was...but I enjoy Mike....down to earth and basic (where I am!LOL!). And, you are absolutely right about downsizing and listening to your stones talk to you. I've got a Dan's 8X2X1/2 hard that's my security blanket.....it tells me where I've screwed up.....by feel and sound. Yes
If I had a dollar for every time this guy has cleared his throat in a video I would be able to buy a new car!
Sooo what's your point?
So it’s true harden and you haven’t used it yet.
I've used several true hards and I've owned many true hards. But at this point in time I had not used the stone yet for anything serious
You ever bought some Arkansas from sharpeningsupplies.com ?
No, I only buy from Dans
You the only guy on TH-cam with solid information about Arkansas stones. After watching several of your videos I decided to get a soft Arkansas to finish my chef knives for work and I'm impressed on how the edge on the knives comes out. Anybody that dislike this video is a winnie
@@diegomunoz8097 Thank you very much. And if you are impressed with a soft you should give a translucent a shot.
I actually did last night, my friend at work bought a dans translucent & he let me borrow it to Sharpen my 6 in victorinox boning knife and I was like "damn that's fucking sharp". We're both cooks at a casino in southern california & we both agree that Arkansas are a different feeling and experience than waterstones
@@diegomunoz8097 They are completely different. And surpass any edge of any water stone available. If you want to take you're edges even further lap the Arkansas stones. They cut slower, but the edge will be incredible.
