I’m eagerly awaiting delivery of my Air 3S so watching all these informative and well presented videos of the drone in action is giving me confidence for my first flight. Thank you from BC🇨🇦😄
@@timothystravels8492 It definitely is, but it may seem that a couple of updates are required before it becomes perfect (had a test of ActiveTrack compared to the Mini 4Pro - published today - that shows it is not quite there yet. 🙂
Nice comparison, both did a good job. Air3s has the advantage of the 70mm telephoto lens. My suggestion: Avoid games with branches and wires cause you're gonna crash! To test the max speed you have to unlock 🔓 it first and then fly higher of the trees 🎄
@@FinntheNorwegian-rm2vk hello there. I've seen others go 77km/h. Just go into “Gain and Expo” settings choose Sport mode and move horizontal speed all the way up. DJI says that with tailwind it can reach 97.2km/h!!!
Liked the comparison. Very detailed. 1) In your opinion, is the image quality significantly better or only marginally? 2) if you were to get only one, which would you get?
The image quality is better on the Air 3S, and especially if you compare the 70mm lens on the Air 3S with 3 x zoom on the Mini 4 Pro, then it is significantly better. Nowadays it is not ideal filming situations due to the special light this late in the year, but I have been happy with the Mini 4 pro until now (and still is). It produces very good pictures, but to me, it is no doubt that the Air 3S is better, and then especially in low light situations. Please also bear in mind that I have done nothing special adjustments in this video other than using the different LUT's to the D-LOG M footage. I will most likely get even better results with the footage from the Air 3S (knowing what I can do with the footage from the Mini 4 Pro). I am glad I have the Mini 4 Pro, because it is small, makes less noise, but the Air 3S fly so smooth that it is a delight. I brought it up in wind gusts up to 14 m/s today, got warnings, but still handles well (but it was just a short flight, just to check the pipe at my daughters house. Normally I will not fly in so strong wind. I have the pilot exam (as required for the C1 category - which the Air 3S is), and with the experience I have gotten with the Mini 4 Pro, it was less daunting flying a drone 3 times heavier. With my current experience, I would chosen the Air 3S today if I only should have one drone, but limited experience, I am still glad I chose the Mini 4 pro as my first drone. It is also an amazing drone thinking about it's size. I was going back an forth deciding if I should buy the Air 3S or not, wondering if it was so much better that the Mini 4 Pro that is was worth adding to my fleet. My conclusion is; Yes it was! If you are only buing one drone, looking at the prices, the difference is definitely worth it buying the Air 3S. Good luck in deciding.
@FinntheNorwegian-rm2vk thanks for the response. Have a mavic 2 pro and upgrading. Flight registration and restrictions are the main concern. But image quality is the biggest priority. Will get the 3s and go through registration etc then.
@@wanderlustyarla6525 The restriction isn't really a lot of different from the C0 category. The only difference is really that you are not allowed intentionally to fly over uninvolved persons. What you do get extra is that you can go pass the 120m limit from the takeoff point which is useful if you are hiking uphill and have the drone following you (because you are allowed to fly 120m above the ground - irrespective of where you took off). On the C0 drones you have a limitation of 120m from the takeoff point that cannot be changed to anything higher (unless you land the drone and take off from the new location). You also really have to register any drone with a camera (for a very low amount a year. In addition to this the drone certification training and the certification itself are both free - you do both easy in a few hours). I almost forgot. Another feature I like with the Air 3S is that is has an internal fan, so it do not get warm when turning on without starting. I have been out testing more today and am getting more and more fond of the Air 3S. I hope you will get the same joy of your Air 3S when you get it.
Agreed, just wait for the Mavic 4 Pro to be released, but wait, maybe the Mavic 5 Pro will be much better. Hold on… I’m sure the Mavic 6 Pro will definitely be better, but it won’t be better than the Mavic 7 Pro.
@@AD-yc5cb I was actually thinking in the path of waiting until the Air 4, but then again, it would be an endless game of waiting, as a new version will come every year. The downside of the Mavic Pro (apart from the double price) is that it requires an additional certification and that there is more restrictions flying it due to it being class C2. 🙂
@@harleydavidsonroadking9648 That was my thought as well. An endless waiting game for the next new and better version. I can say that I do not regret, as the Air 3S is defenitely a different class of drone anyway 🙂.
@FinntheNorwegian-rm2vk right, the damn high prices they have, I've heard it may come with the 8k res I mean, I might be wrong, but that would be great to have a drone the size of Mavic with the highest res. I would save a ton to buy it. In my case I don't need any certification to fly any size of drones, just need to ask permission and that's it. I'll wait to see any real strong update about the mavic 4 pro just to be sure.
Loved this video.... But lets be honest, comparing a mini drone to a normal drone isnt a fair test. Better compare the Air 3 S with the Mavic 3 pro. About the same size😊. But once again the video was great to watch. Just not a fair comparison 😅😅
Still I was unsure before buying it if the difference was big enough to buy an additional drone (looking at other videos of the Air 3S). I do agree that it might not be a fair comparison, but the Mini 4 did good I think. Of course when just feeling the weight, looking at the quality, feeling the smoothness when flying; it is definitely a class up. I can't wait to test more (did some Active track testing as well - not published yet - and so far, I am not sure it is fully developed in Air 3S).
If I had bought mine from EU or UK, this would also have been held in customs for a while, and then I would have been issued a handling fee and VAT for the value of the drone. This would actually made it more expensive than if I bought it here in Norway. Where do you live?

Thank you, and the same thing for me, but doing the flights now when I have it, is even more enjoyable. It is really a smooth flyer.
You will not be disappointed...it's a wonderful drone! 😊

Great video and very informative, enjoyed the comparison, I’ll give you a sub 😊
