    Nice video and a great looking bike! I'm having problems with my fuel petcock. I was wondering rather than totally removing the tank, whether I could just slide it back a bit to address my issue? Thank you!

      if you have a petcock value issue only, you do not need to remove or even slide the tank around.
      petcock valve is clearly accessible on the side.

    Great video!!! Thanks. Do you have any videos on fairing installs upper and lower fairing? I can’t find any videos for VTX 1300.

    Could you tell where the hose that you took out from behind the tank is connected to? I washed my tank but that hose came out by itself now that I put the tank in there is no gas I have that problem..

    About to do this for a rejet. Will gas pour out if the tank is almost full? If so how do you prevent it?

    • @footprintsinconc
      @footprintsinconc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, as long as the tank lid is on and closed.
      The petcock valve should be turned off.
      No issues of gas pouring out...just easier when it's empty.

    Nice bike! Is “flushing” bike fuel tank the same thing as “sealing” a bike fuel tank?

    • @footprintsinconc
      @footprintsinconc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      no, is the tank leaking? you can rinse it out yourself, should not be an issue.

    Hi, 2 questions, the overflow that is plugged into the tank goes where, is it just a free line at thee other end? Also, if you want to drain the tank what would be the easiect way? TY again

    • @footprintsinconc
      @footprintsinconc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      the over flow just hangs down below...so doesn't go into anything.
      easiest way to empty is remove the petcock valve for complete empty beside turning it upside down :)

    • @Frogtalkin
      @Frogtalkin ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@footprintsinconc No! the easiest way is attach a hand vacuum pump to the petcock on smaller left hole. This makes the fuel flow out the other side, use a peice of tubing to guide gas into gas.

    Im about to re jet my carburetor vance & hines no air box modification and k&m air filter what are your thoughts

    • @footprintsinconc
      @footprintsinconc  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi. Honestly, i'd have to pull out some really old notes and start from there...I'll look into it a little later
      But in the mean time, i'd check this out:
      www.vtxcafe.com/threads/lean-rich-carburetor-adjustments.12511/
      they have a tone of stuff that you can read there. Im sure there is a thread on there that talks about the different setups that people have and the setting they are using.
      let me know here what you found, tried and what you settled on?
      look, you setup will have a more free flowing exhuast and more air pull in,
      so you might get away with pulling you needle up with out chaning out the slow jet.
      you will need to bump up the main jet thought...

    • @terryharper731
      @terryharper731 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @footprintsinconc yeah, I'll definitely let you know what I came up with the person who had the bike before me had already put one shem but didn't change the slow jet or the Maine jet thanks for your info 👍

    My 04 vtx1300r is leaking oil and fuel from carb. What could it be??? It has 42k miles

    • @footprintsinconc
      @footprintsinconc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i assume you mean you have oil and fuel in the air box...not coming from the carb itself. oil can't come from the carb.
      the vtx has air filter box has a crankcase breather outlet. you could be getting pretty severe blow by from combustion in one or both you cylinders to push oil into the air box...i haven't heard of that.
      as for fuel in the air box...i would remove the carb and clean it out and put it back...could be many reasons. this would ensure its all clean. then you would have to follow instructions on turning the carb so that the bike does not run lean or too rich.

      @@footprintsinconc how hard or how easy is it to remove the carburetor for a rebuild?

    • @footprintsinconc
      @footprintsinconc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lstruggy here is the video i did on it
      it's a bit of time consuming the first time around, quite a few parts, but you know it's done right.
      it only gets easier. i would not hesitate to start it yourself right now...it's winter, so the bike is most likely parked right now?

      @@footprintsinconc yes it’s inside a rental storage 10x10 here in Vegas.Tnx for the reply 🙏🏽 I inherited the bike recently 06 vtx1300r good condition but it might need a fuel tank reseal has little rust inside I was told by Honda dealership and found a local bike shop that would rebuild carb for $200 plus carb rebuild kit. I’m a total motorcycle noob and via TH-cam and forums im learning and soaking informations atm the plan is to sel her after some tlc had Honda bike dealership did the oil change, radiator flush, new fuel lines and brake fluid flush so far
