The only thing I would prefer to see a different behavior, is that it's just a renaming of parameters, so if you change values afterwards you have to favorite them upfront because it will be a nightmare to find them in the model parameters entities later
Welcome back Lars. Your videos are gold. Great pacing, you don't skip or go too fast over important steps and best of all your enthusiasm and cheerful disposition. It is obvious you enjoy doing this. Thanks so much.
I hope you will go back and do another constraint video. I have been using fusion a lot now for a couple of years and still don’t understand them or the sequence they are used. I would also like to see the measurement function improved it works really poorly trying to select the actual point I’m trying to measure. Really glad your back look forward to seeing more.
I started using Fusion some 5 years ago and I had never used a 3D CAD package before and it was your videos that got me on the correct path. I liked your expression " power user" as I can say I am clearly not one because recently I have got a bit overwhelmed with all the features in Fusion and how and when to use them. So glad your back to give all us lesser individuals clarity.
Lars, I knew I was missing you and your guidance, I realize now just how much! Thanks for returning to the channel. You teach the way I learn, so cool. So good to have you back.
I'm a hobbyist newbie to Fusion 360 and this video is a revelation; super useful and so well presented. Gonna make life so much easier for me. Looking forward to the next one. Cheers!! 😀
Lars, my business has reached an entirely different level thanks to your videos on Fusion 360. I knew very little when I started and thanks to you I now design all my own products from start to finish. Thank you so much Bro. Glad to have you back.
Hey you're back! I cut my teeth on your videos and can't thank you enough for getting me going with Fusion. It's been just over two years now and it led me into 3D printing which I love. Never mind thingieverse, let's design our own stuff. Wonderful. I'm really pleased you're back Lars 👍🏼
Professor Fusion is back in class. Missed you and your clear explanations. I have been doing different stuff other than Fusion myself, so the Fusion update sessions help me lot to get back up to speed.
Welcome, back to the grid Mr.Christensen, I'm creating a program to fuse architecture,& engineering with 3dprinting machine have respect coders for sure. It difficult as hell feeding this from template to programing. Stay fit L.C.
Great to have you back Lars, every time i watch your videos i learn something new, something helpful to me and my cad modelling. Your videos are produced excellently and its easy to follow and understand what you are discussing. Thank you.
Thanks Lars .. glad your back .. the new UI threw me for a loop on your older videos .. I eventually figured it out .. this was a little frustrating as I needed to continue , I understand changes can be a little overwhelming when you have worked so hard on the lessons with the old UI . Now that you figured it out I am looking forward to the new Lars videos
Very useful. I use parameters all the time, and had completely missed the possibility to define the parameter at the time it’s needed. Excellent!!! Thanks!
Thanks Lars, been watching your vids for couple weeks now, and this is the newest one I have seen. Getting proficient at F360 seems daunting in theory, but you make it seem doable!! Thank you
Good seeing yoiu back Lars! Just started my journey with your older videos a little over a month ago. They've been really helpful and was recently able to make a replacement part on my 3D printer that saved me $30 if I would have bought a replacement part. Looking forward to learning some more with you.
Great to see you back Lars. Been going through your previous videos, but the going has been hard at times because your Fusion 360 was an older version than mine, and there were differences but still great. Now we are both using the same version. Looking forward to learning more now.
Hey Lars, so glad the King of F360 has returned! How would you model a scissor lifter efficiently? There's a lot of joints to keep track of, and any inconsistency between them is challenging to identify and correct
More of the 3D Sketching! Kinda reminds me of a part of “google sketchup” that I miss. Good job Fusion! Sorry Sketchup, I still won’t come back to you🤷🏻♂️
Hey Lars! We are grateful to have you blessing us with your knowledge 😄 random question, I heard that when making a part you should make a component before modeling it. Right now I have an assembly with over 100 different parts that I didn't make into components. I simply inserted them into my drawing. Is this an issue? I would rather not recreate all of these parts. Thanks again!
Hi Jake, It is called "Rule 1" on the forum. No, you don't have to start over. There are some benefits to do rule number one, but I would doubt you will have to do it
Man am I glad your back!!!! These commands are GREAT! I had learned about the Loft command the other day and it save a project but, your take is even more clear. And I had no idea about the surface tool box as well as all the other commands you've shown here. I feel like I just upped my skill level a full grade because of this video.

Thank you so much. Livestreams if I can find the time :-) Press Pull can Extrude, Fillet and move faces all in one. Extrude just Extrudes...Use which one you are comfortable with :-)
3:00 Perhaps a better example would be to suppose the need to sketch an object recently seen from memory, or something appearing in a photograph. Even then, the designer could briefly enable this feature to scale the sketch. Meanwhile, if the designer wants to model an object they're holding in their hand, why wouldn't they measure a few features prior to sketch creation? No doubt your recommendation in this area will generate lots of comments.
Hi Greg, Thank you for watching and commenting. I'm not going to be the judge about what is the best way; I'll let you take that role. You do have a pretty good option to scale when inserting an image into Fusion 360. I just want you to be successful one way or the other :-)
Certainly glad you're back, Lars! I've used Fusion 360 for four years and have yet to use Loft - looks like I need to step up my game. Naming Parameters on the fly is pretty cool, too. I'm curious why you always begin a drawing at the center of the grid; when I do that and later try to move or scale a sketch it seems locked to the center point. So I do most of my sketches in the upper right quadrant. Am I doing something wrong and that's why I can't move or scale a sketch if it's in the center? Thanks! Two things of note - it isn't necessary to click Apply if you're exiting the Preferences dialogue box. Pressing OK accepts the changes and exits the dialogue box. The only reason to click Apply is if you're staying in the dialogue box for other changes, otherwise Ok handles both Accept and exiting the dialogue box. The other thing is on Parameters where you specify how wide the object is; it's Width with a 'd'. :)
Hi David, Thank you so much for taking the time to watch the videos and for your great comment. You are right that when starting the sketch on the origin with the center rectangle, Fusion will automatically insert a constraint. I think it comes down to design intent, so it depends on where you want to end up, so don't feel like you have to do it the same way as me. You are totally right about the Apply vs. OK. That is a bad habit of mine :-) just like I'll never learn how to spell Width Best, Lars
@@cadcamstuff Thanks, Lars! Maybe you can show us how to release the constraint if we use the center for a starting point, assuming you can fit that into one of your future videos.

That yellow box in the middle of the video (I think it's in the shots with his face, too) was really distracting once I noticed it. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed it.
Can tangent loft be tangent to BOTH surfaces? Like a spline? 3D sketch will be great for lofting without loads of offset planes. Naming parameters during dimensioning is great to go back and change stuff when I was lazy about naming my sketch.

Good to see you back. The parameters during dimensioning thing looks awesome. I didn't know it was a thing till today! Thanks!
