At 3:48 you said doing the 200/15 will clear the PDTC. Doing the 200/15 wont clear the permanent code but rather the CA SMOG machine will ignore it. But it might clear the permanent code in the 200/15 but no guarantee.
It should clear but even if it doesn’t clear after the 15/200 is met it will be allowed to tested and will pass. Good catch and thank you for bringing that to my attention.
Hey random, 2013 GM...this is driving me crazy i have a scan tool, check engine lite comes on then clears OFF, after i drive it 4 some time then i drive it till my monitors are ready then the stored code comes on again P0024 then to a pending code then a check engine lite...again P0024 . Trying to pass my emissions, i think its a false reading on the P0024, Got 100k on vehicle.
Question, I need a new cat and my car is California emissions. I live in Georgia, do I actually need to buy a CARB cat even though my state doesn't require it? My car is a 2004 Acura tsx. Appreciate all the work you do!
You need ask some one at an exhaust shop personally I don’t think any will check. You may not need a catalyst if you trick your ecu to thinking the cat is okay. I just did it in the same engine as yours th-cam.com/video/HkF4oCED0UU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=zt-kJpKefrS3KBFE and lastly don’t get tricked into overpaying for a new catalytic converter as you can find one for under $150 shipped that is a direct fit unit so it will be easy to change out if you decide to go that route. Yes, always address the issue and clear the codes. I personally write down the code and freeze frame data, clear the codes and see what happens once’s I drive the vehicle. I have experienced codes that have only pop up once. Things such as weak and old batteries will throw all kinds of codes so I alway make sure your vehicle’s battery is almost perfect before you spending any money on a repair.
@@RANDOMFIX would a weak or low battery throw P0200, 1200,1300,1400 AND a 1700 Have 5 codes (minus low tire pressure ones that I know were there I just never cleared them after reinflating the tire Only ask my low milage Crosstrek has all these in hitory but has NEVER thrown a CEL I’m the only one who drives and 1st owner I’ve had it for 2+ years and I don’t recall ANYTHING as far as it running poorly or any noises ect. Doesn’t show pending , permanent or stored just states history Hooked my hogher grade innova while I was scanning a guy at works CEL for him and said I’ll just check mine for fun and when I run the all module scan that popped up on that but not on the generic OBD 2 it runs when you hook it up Battery was ran low or killed a few times battery is fine I just ran stereo longer than I should and jumped it twice. Just curious do my own maintenance reliably. Seems odd it would have all those but never through a CEL

I don't think so, every car model is different, and needs a different driving procedure, to complete the codes.
