Initialize WINDOW REGULATOR - Reset BMW Power Windows

- Ever since I bought by BMW Z4 e89 it has had a gap between the rear and front window which bothered me to no end as the water would get in and it didn't look right. To fix the issue we have to re-initialize or reset the window regulator. It did not require any tools and only took 2 minutes to do.

Hi guys. Do have that problem on the driver side front window after a battery replacement. Your system does not work for me. Unfortunately. Tried it about 10 times. No position change after it. The window corner wont come up the last 5mm so the window does not get under the joint.
As strange as it sounds, pull gently but firmly on the glass in the direction it has to go. Then do the programming part again.
@@SimpleCarGuy Thank you, tried that before. It is not possible to move one of the glasses. I ordered some silicon spray to regrease it. I hope that will help.

If you mean side glass, then yes. It should be the same.
how did u figure this out?
Ive tried to this but mine when going up doesnt stay up,automatically goes down about 5cms everytime so i cant hold it fully closed. Any suggestions?

And if my issue was the all 4 Windows don't Going down, on my 325i Convertible, recently i change the battery.
You'd have to reset the regulator on each window, I believe. I've never had that happen, so I'm not 100%
I don't understand how, if the window is stopping at 90%, you can suddenly force it to 100% to begin the memory reset part. If the window isn't going to where it should be, how do you get it to go there in the first place?
I have the same issue tried this but still not fixed i presume i need a new motor or regulator.
Try tugging on it a little bit, may free it up and then do the steps again.

Having wind noise coming through my passenger window an I have noticed it’s because it’s not up as much as my driver side it needs to go up a bit more but I have tried this window reset but it doesn’t do anything for me any help?
If the reset didn't work, there may be some physical movement that needs to be adjusted. Hard to tell.
Hi my e92 coupe passenger side is not up as much as my driver an I get horrible wind noise anything above 70mph cannot reset as nothing happens
You can get a BMW scanner and try the window regular reset through that (there is a function like that) or you can even try pulling on it to see if it just slipped a bit.

I don’t mean yank on it or anything. Grab it with both ‘open’ hands, one one each side of the glass and lightly pull up. If it doesn’t move, that’s not it. It has worked for me before.
Did you ever find the exact problem my E92 same thing passenger side make noise at a certain speed
