      Why do we, Federer fans, feel his triumphs as well as his pains and defeats profoundly? There's something about Roger that's just irresistible and addictive. Maybe because he's a humble, caring, talented, gorgeous and peRFect human being!

      Why; All players like nadal have a bad day and they can lose even in their favorite tournament. I just don't understand why people try to justify the player who lose or take something from the player who won a slam. Nadal also won the australian open 2022 because djokovic couldn't participate. But nobody writes something about nadal. At least, federer won roland garros with nadal having participated.

    At 12:48 we know now from a 2019 interview with Tommy Haas that this was the point that turned everything around for Federer during the French open...down two sets and facing break point in the third set (fourth round I think), Fed went for a massive inside-out forehand and Tommy says in the interview that it shocked him. Tommy thought it would go out and was amazed by Fed's boldness during a huge moment. Tommy said if Fed missed that forehand, he thinks it was over and he would have won in straight sets.

    I'm a big Rafa fan but I'm so happy Roger got this title. I feel with his all-surface awesomeness, Roger deserved at least 2 FOs; he was so good that he made 5 FO finals but he had the misfortune of continually running into a fellow all-time great and the greatest player on clay in history, Rafa. Until I saw this video I didn't know what a nail-biting path Roger had to his 2009 FO crown: dropping 6 sets before the final, coming through 2 very tight 5 setters, playing 6 tiebreakers and winning 5, being a point away (against Haas) from being served out of the tournament in straight sets ... Roger really showcased his phenomenal movement, defence and heart in this tournament.

    Djokovic fans have to be really glad Nadal was playing at a very insane level at a very young age (2005-2009), because without that happening while him being 17, 18, 19 years of age, Federer would have run away with literally every tournament and won like 5 or 6 more GS at the time. He was the second best clay courter of that time already anyway. He lost 1 semifinal and 3 finals at the french (2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 respectively), AO 2009 and Wimbledon 2008. By 2010 Nadal was consolidated, and much more mature and experienced so not really counting those years afterwards.

      In Tennis, if your good, your good doesn't matter that much if your teenager or in your 20's. Although ofcourse your much better when your at 23-26. My point is, Nadal wasn't the first player to show elite level at those age. Mcenroe, Becker to name a few who had their best days at those age bracket (18-22). Being older is much harder though, so that credit goes to Federer in that case...

    • @Milanche87

      No, we are glad that Djokovic stopped Nadal from breaking all Federer's records so that Nole can be G.O.A.T He is only 1 year younger than Nadal. Since 2011 Novak has won 18 slams, 31 masters 1000, 4 ATP finals, and spend 325+ weeks at number 1. Nadal and Federer TOGETHER have won 15 slams, 28 masters 1000, 1 ATP finals, and 132 weeks at number 1.

      @@samy29987 You are comparing level of tennis played in 60's, 70's and 80's with today!? LOL Those matches look like recreative game comparing with today, by every aspect. Federer put the bar very high but he won most of the titles and spend weeks at number 1 against Roddick, Safin, Hewit, Gonzales, Philippoussis, Gonzales, Baghdatis.. Average players if you compare them with Novak and Nadal at their highest peak. He only won Garros thanks to Soderling, his score against Nadal on clay is disaster. Djokovic had much stronger competition, although people from the west don't like him there is no denying against numbers. We will see what future brings but no doubt Novak is the best so far.

    I love Novak, and I love Johnny Mac, and I love Boris, and I actually kind of love Lendl (Connors, Sampras, Agassi, Murray and the highly overrated, one-surface clay king Nadal are all sourpuss lame cry-baby putzes) but Roger, for all he has done and meant and all his firsts and lasting records, simply is the GREATEST OF ALL TIME, EVER and EVER and EVER.

      @MqchaXD at this point u r sounding like u r just making excuses seriously like imagine the amount of mental break down when u r so injury prone like Nadal is n that too in ur prime . Imagine facing so much hatred that Djokovic faced just for standing in Federers way and defeating him fare and square and still not getting the respect he deserves . Like u federer fans will always come up with excuses to make ur GOAT claim which at this point is very much in favour of Djokovic .

    The time Nadal got knock-out, all the pressure was multiplied by like a 100 fold for Federer to win the FO lmao, as a fan I was so nervous he will fvck up the chance, this was the only chance.Because He's getting older, Nadal reaching his absolute peak, etc. etc. Not so surprise he had this struggle of a run against lesser opponents (asides Del Potro and Soderling ). He played nervously through out the tournament after that 4th round lol.

    • @10scoach33
      @10scoach33 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Lucas Lopes how can you say it wasn’t lucky he avoided Rafa that year? As great a player RF is, his game does not match up well against Rafa on clay. To beat Rafa on clay you have to hit him off the court which very few people can obviously, but that is how Robin Soderling beat Nadal, he had the game that day to do it, cuz he hits BIG all the time, RF does not hit big on clay, and I say this being a huge RF fan!! It’s just in Clay Rogers game does not match up to Rafa game. It’s all about matchups on the ATP tour, every tour player will tell you that. Just because A beat B and B beat C, doesn’t mean that A will beat C....it doesn’t work that way

    this completed the career grand slam for Federer; the same is true for Djokovic. it is startling to note though that both have won the French Open only ONCE in their career, at least so far. to balance the equation though: Nadal has won the Australian Open only ONCE as well...
