    Some unreal shot making from both. Great to see the one-handed backhand played at this level can be competitive with the best two-handed backhand in the world!

      The notion that 1hb is not competitive is just a myth. Many juniors learn 2hb cause its easier for a young weak body to learn, look at the defense and offense and angles created by musettid backhand, is insane to consider 1hb a weakness.

      To be fair, he did cause the second set loss, only lucky he was able to come back and play even better later in the match. Novak was able to do this in 3 sets, but for some reason 50% of smashes were going at Musetti and very slowly, although commentators say it's the lights in the arena.

    Djokovic still looks light, while some other players of his age have started to look heavy. Your weight seems to be very important in tennis. In fact three of the top four players in the world are almost pathologically skinny. I'm thinking of Sinner, Medvedev and Djokovic.

      E' un fenomeno ! fino a l' anno scorso o addirittura ad inizio anno lo criticavano in molti, io ho sempre detto che è il nostro miglior giocatore dopo Sinner, e, ora esagererò anche, ma è più talentuoso di Sinner (certo, l' altoatesino è più continuo e gioca ad un ritmo più veloce, d' accordo, però veder giocare Musetti è un piacere !)
      Sta migliorando anche nelle posizioni in campo e nella strategia, tutti lo criticavano perchè giocava troppo lontano dal campo ma, non so perchè , secondo me aveva "le sue ragioni" e infatti sta dimostrando a tutti che può fare tanto, ma veramente tanto. Complimenti , portare Djokovic al 5o set è veramente tanta roba !

    I went to bed at 2am on 2-1 for Musetti in the 4th set. I woke up this morning eager to check the result and of course I included the possibility that Nole might have won, but the least I was expecting was a 12-1 game streak, for what I had seen up to that moment. Happy to see Djoko is still drinking blood of virgins for breakfast.

    Musetti conking out yet again. His stamina is really suspect - one of the reasons why Djokovic was playing so many drop shots (apart from the fact Musetti positions himself so far back)

      @@ddraguti with Novak it is quite often like this. He lets the oponent play his soul out, while he takes it
      more or less easy and then he strikes. He does not mind losing 2 sets as long as he wins the last 2 like
      in this match! He calculates all beforehand and is very good at it.

      that was Novaks plan. He calculates everything in advance, I'm sure. He does not mind losing
      2 sets, as long as he knows he will win the last! His mind is crazy. Actually it's comparable to a
      marathon runner, who over that long distance has to divide his energy in a clever way if he wants
      to last and win.

Tsitsipas for example(proven clay court player) has never won 1 in 5 ATP 500 finals on clay. Talent-wise, Lorenzo is up there with the best of his generation. His problems lie elsewhere!       We have a group of young players: Arnaldi, Darderi, Cobolli, Nardi, Musetti. Amongst them Musetti is the one gifted with a crystal talent. Unfortunately the mental and physical side of the player are not at the same level. Probably Cobolli
      will reach better results during his career but the talent and the class of Musetti are superior.
