Why are you reacting to the vanilla Smash Brothers documentary when you could be reacting to Chillin reacting to himself reacting to the documentary
Honestly
Didn't expect you to watch my videos! Thank you so much ❤
I love your channel thanks for the scary stories I love them
wtf this cross over
ZeRo keep up the good work ZeRo you still show a good example to this day. you are the reason why I wanted to go to tournaments even that I didn’t after seeing what happened to you. anyways have a great Christmas everyone🍿
Player: wins
Community: you are toxic
Smash community: Toxic
Or victims of toxicity because Leffen was selling out not only Hax, but also Hungrybox and ZeRo
I'm glad that Zero decided to retire, he looks much more happier and relaxed making content on TH-cam
resverie 17 he does
That schmoovin-ass dance at the end of each vid gives me life dude
resverie 17
Exactly. His life has gone so much more uphill.
Retierashia that’s true
Not just 'retire', but retired gracefully!
But lets be real, we need to give props to hungrybox, he has put up with hate from the entire community for so many years and he wasn’t even winning yet. Then when he finally became the best he got even more hate. He is so strong for being able to put up with it for literally 10 years.
Cuz he’a a crybaby jackass lol
Al Dali Point exactly.
@@aldali724 oh so you know him personally?

Honestly underdog routing is something that seems like a big america thing. America loves the underdog story. Underdog story is just what we love, Like Rocky
But zero was the biggest underdog just based on his child hood but all the hate he got was completely undeserved
@@Lenslows oh his hate was undeserved I just want to start there. Here is thing to public, while zero was climbing that is the underdog story that probably got him cheers, but then once he was definitively the top people don't see him as the underdog anymore it's all perception
As an MMA fan, which is pretty international, people like underdogs because they like to see people rise to the occasion, overcome adversity, and beat the odds. I think the story of Rocky is pretty universal even if it's American. In combat sports, a strong champion causes their entire division to rise up and get better, not just to beat them at the top, but to beat the competitors just below them as well. A high tide raises all ships so to speak.
@@JackShivsAlot true it just I know we can't be only underdog story but we seem to love it the most
Z but once he became the best, he is no longer an underdog.
ZeRo- I don’t understand the underdog mentality
Also ZeRo- 13 year old prodigy beats pro player
There's a difference between the community attaching the underdog title to Zero back then and Zero considering himself an underdog on his own.
ok but that IS impressive deadass
Zero spits some mad facts about himself and his ideas. It really shows how much he understands smash and even life in general. Extremely happy to see him be successful.
Dude I love your opinion and your side of the story, plz do more.
Being at the top is dangerous! Have you ever read Pokemon Adventures? When Red is the champion, he accepts ALL challenges. Before you know it, the Elite 4 challenges him with the intent to murder him!
Lysander xX that manga is awesome
I like both but I like the Billy run better
Oh shit I need to get back into this manga.
Hold up the elite 4 actually tried to kill him?
I loved this manga
3:55 that is exactly why I always rooted for zero in sm4sh. I wanted to see how long he would be able to keep his streak going with everyone studying him and gunning to take him down. Always made him the underdog in my eyes.
You did the right thing ZeRo. It looks like you really enjoy what your life is now and the accomplishments of the past are still there. Keep it at bro!
To be honest fan culture in America is pretty awful. If you’re perceived as the best and you lose, suddenly you're trash. If you beat the best everyone adores you and the cycle repeats.
Every victory is negated by one failure. No respect for time or effort put in because people don’t see it, and I’ll never get over that.
I hate America for this being an American because it's true in every videogame
@@LSmashUlt true, its the same in every aspect of American culture. A team in nba, nfl, etc beats another good team and its suddenly that good team is now ass or so much worse. You beat someone in a game one time and suddenly you should never play the game again cause you're awful. An artist or actor wins an award over another, wow that other artist/actor must be awful not listening to them again. People in the US are such bandwagoners or hype beast that they move from win to win and forget the past in days, truly an annoying part of american entertainment.
@SupItsZack360 Not even just video games. The toxicity spreads into traditional sports too. I’m usually the first guy to defend America against stereotypes, but when it comes to toxic communities in any competitive scenes, America is absolutely one of the worst in general.
That's a very good point. Hopefully we can shift that mindset over time.
D ŕŕ r
i completely understand why you left compettitve smash and I respect you for doing so your health is way more important than continuing to deal with a toxic ass community. btw I love the persona 5 music you've been playing in the background in some of your videos
I used to want to be "the best Sheik in Ultimate" but seeing how cringey and toxic the smash community is I'd rather play for fun now. People really spend all their days complaining instead of going in the lab and learning to get around shit.
If you got time to cry, you got time to try
Are you a lab player? That's dope I'm a heart player you wanna be practice buddies?
I'm in elite smash I wont waste your time but sometimes I wanna play with the intent to just learn and I cant seem to lose the will to win when I play online ngl lol be cool to have people to play with who are good.
ight bro lmao
@@qlasalle I'd definitely like to play when Im ever free really. I dont spend too much time in the lab since Im confident in my fundamentals and adaptions but I would go into the lab a lot if I notice Im completely getting washed by something.

"this is why I quit smash tournaments"
"what I hate about myself"
*recent allegations*
welp apparently these titles had more than one meaning in hindsight now
@Officer Barbrady
back when a bunch of smash players got called out for allegations for sexual misconduct or harassment of minors. Zero was one of them being accused. He was found out to be asking for "inappropriate images" of a underage girl. But this was about five years. Yet the video titles I mentioned seem to imply he was reflecting on things he regrets about his past decisions. I'm guessing that was one of those things but he wasn't being 100% honest about it at the time. And it was kinda proven later on when he tried to deny and lie about the allegations a few times. When people brought evidence before him
tldr, zero was possibly hinting at something he didn't want to be revealed from his past. But unfortunately for him, it was
I totally get that loss of motivation when you feel like you won’t get better at something. I had some bouts of that recently with my own hobbies and it really drained my motivation. Every failure was confirmation of that in my eyes, but in reality, I failed just as much before my self perceived “peak”. At the end of the day, you gotta do what you enjoy. Whatever that is, even if you have low points in it, you will always improve with time as long as the passion is there
If there's another Smash Game Sakurai will probably have a mental meltdown lol

Reasons why Zero quit: haters
Toxic community, actually.
@@Trattt Sadly. I think there isn't even a single community being as toxic as the smash community. Even the CS:GO community is more friendly.
@@fantasygaming8718 go play league of legends.
@@EpicBlackSheep all communitys are toxic. That's sad
@@EpicBlackSheep Oh true! Forgot about that 😅
I really like how you push the idea of putting your foot down and getting yourself out of an atmosphere that you're not comfortable in. It's a lot harder to do for most people than they realize, especially when it involves something that takes up most of your life. Loving your content, ZeRo. Keep up the good work, my man
Lowkey, WIFE was the leffen of that era. He lived in an anime too lol
These are the kinds of videos that quell my months of delusion that i could ever have the time or the autism to compete at top levels in smash...
Feel like zero is gonna get really emotional in the M2K episode
I personally always rooted for the one on top because them winning means there's consistency. If a different person wins each major, it feels like there's no definitive best player and everyone just has on and off days. If the same person wins 50 majors in a row, it means there's a player consistently beating every other top player. You'll always remember the huge upsets where a god falls, but in the end, it's still the god that's considered a god, a fucking legend.
Wingsaber I mostly support hated players (that actually didn't do anything to deserve hate) and players I just like seeing them play
Wingsaber Spectators don't care about consistency.
Butttt than you got like 8 people to pick from to root for
Zero I love your videos I feel like you killing the game rn.
I mean, giving into the haters is almost giving them what they want. I’d love to see you in tournaments again because you’re an amazing player and could easily be the best in the world again. I understand why you quit, but you definitely still have fans!
In my experience, the trolls are not only persistent, they are rampant and they are enabled by the powers that be.
Ace Cyan dude I totally agree and I completely have a lot more understanding and empathy for top players now and it would be so cool to see zero compete again
Love your content bro! Do what you want to do. Don't feel pressured to go to tournaments if you don't want to.
"so many times, it happens too fast; you trade your passion for glory"
People don't cheer for the underdog because it's "harder" for them; people cheer for the underdog because they are more relatable to the average person. Most of us are average joes, wishing or striving to be the best and know most of us won't make it. So when we see someone, who we feel is similar, actually win, we can empathize with that person.
Coolidge u nailed it
And this is why people love good Little Mac mains.
SoulHero7 wtf no? Screw Little Mac mains, why would you want to play a character that isn’t fun for anyone? They force people who wanna win to camp them out and knock them offstage until they fail to recover, whilst spamming smash attacks to approach. Why would you want to do that.
@@largenaq2935 *Good* Little Mac mains bro.
SoulHero7 what does that change? My point was about the character itself.
Gee it's the same everywhere. People look at being a competetive pro with such bright eyes, commit, then get hit with what it's and the people are really like and lose their passion.
It's heartbreaking, really :/
People root for the person against ZeRo during the streak cause they are the “underdog”
Then me rooting for ZeRo wanting him to continue the streak and kick everyone’s ass since the crowds against him
you better make the next episode bro

Zero asking for us to tell him if he should do Episode 5 and 6 made me chuchle. Bro, this is the best series I've seen in a while. Finally something to watch primarly and focused instead of letting TH-cam run on my second monitore while I play World of Warcraft.
I think the competitive scene for gaming in general is very toxic. Hell, boxing and UFC isn't even nearly as toxic. And I think it has to do with just how broad the community is. It can appeal to the lowest common denominator. I'm talking bout you LTG
I think the scene for competitive gaming in general is similar to the UFC if there were no filters on the pros and they were free to beef and slam others while still holding careers in their hands.
That's because the UFC and Boxing has heavy censorship.
Um, compared to other gaming scenes, the Smash scene is the most toxic and bratty.
@@Un1234l ehh wouldn't go that far mate. Don't get me wrong there's plenty of toxicity but so do a lot of fighting games. Also smash has a weird divide in its community due to its strange history.
They still need to shower though.
JFKdied2 people need to realise that the smash community is only heavily toxic compared to the traditional FGC, and that’s because smash appeals to a far broader fan base, unlike traditional fighting games which require a lot of dedication to enjoy competitively.
People then say that Pokemon has an even more toxic fan base, and somehow still can’t see the correlation that Pokemon also has one of the largest, broadest fanbases in the world.
Definitely keep covering the documentary :) And I hope you find content outside of Smash to make and be successful with, ZeRo.
I hope they make another smash documentary about the events after the first one. So much happened, and if the quality was the same, it would truly be amazing

Honestly, this series is probably my favourite thing to watch in youtube recently. I only joined the ssb community when Smash 4 was released, and just this year I'm starting to understand the melee scene. I always knew about the documentary, but never actually watched it, so watching you talking about it, giving extra info, backstage view and whatnot is really cool, specially because you were the best player in the first smash game I ever played seriously. Keep going, ZeRo, you're awesome, and this series is really good.
There’s that saying “it’s lonely at the top”
Zero, I have the same story being at the top, hating the atmosphere and being around specific people, only my story was in Alaska, so it's small and still hard to get away from some players wanting me to come back in person all the time. I'm a lot happier after retiring too. I've always been a fan, before during and after your status in Smash 4, and I can't tell you how good it makes me feel to see a player I respect be so happy after making a change. Thank you for being you
watching you today talking about how TH-cam is your passion and your favorite thing to do really broke my heart
i think the things you did are really a small thing compared to how many people you made happy every day

I should have just went and watched the documentary. You quit smash because your not good at losing, making poor excuses so your ego isn't crushed. Like you have an opportunity to be a role model and you just spit in the face of them. People ask you for advice so that they can figure out how to execute, where do they start and where do they end. If you can point them to where the stairs are then they'll walk it, but most don't even know where the stairs are or which ones to take. Then to say its not worth trying when you reach the top or if people hate on you is also disappointing to hear, with that outlook things get rusty pretty quick. Glad to see your happy making videos, I suppose it works out in the end, but just consider with great power comes great responsibility.
