I have to hand it to Lin....she very attractive, she is very smart with college degrees. She is very innovative, and energetic, and in great demand in her town....which is probably bigger than we think. They have a hospital, so I don't think it is that small.... She can fix just about anything.....so what does she do?? She completely rebuilds this 50 year old Lathe for a customer..and PAINTS IT PINK ! Who else would do that but a cute enterprising young woman. I bet her customer was impressed. She has said that Pink was her favorite color. So keep up the good work.

Wow Lin, what a great restoration of a broken lathe! All those parts to take apart and restore them properly, and afterwards rebuilding the whole machine is a big challenge! I would have to take pictures or have to follow some manuals to put everything back together in a correct way. You're just a genius! And you panted it in your favourite colour as well!! Awesome job!!

С точки зрения рук, молодец, но по качеству восстановления , она лишь его почистила и покрасила, на 13.50 видно как суппорт ходуном ходит, болты точить можно.

Amazing work Lin, as always. One thing, when you remove a lathe chuck, its a good idea to put a piece of wood under it so it doesn't chip the bed. Also, please don't leave the key in the chuck, in case you turn it on by accident!
I could probably take it apart, I might even be able to clean up the pieces, but in a hundred years I could never put it back together again, excellent job !!!
Looks like this Chineese lathe has some features like my 70 year old Raglan Little John which itself formed into the famous Myford series of benchtop lathes. I bought mine 10 years ago for £50 ($70) and refurbished it. Brilliant lathe can screw cut and turn 24" between centers. I know essentially all lathes are versions of others but the castings from 50 to 80 years ago are so good and stable makes for a superb machine. I dont like the throw away society mentality. Plus this young lady never needs a gym pass.......thats hard grafting and superb skills, so good to watch.
A pink lathe! Why not? This made my day. When I grew up, and started working, machinery was just so expensive in Africa. I would really have appreciated a lathe like this.

Lin, when you remove the chuck from the headstock ALWAYS protect the ways on the bed with a wooden board. Dropping the chuck on them does damage that can effect accuracy on small work
She isn't a machinist, and I am sure she doesn't care, that thing was heading to get cut up as scrap for a reason. But she will get 18th-19th century results out of this, which is a lot better than a angle grinder drill press and file, and that is good enough for jungle village work.
Being sloppy in something as easily preventable by just using a wood board is not a good policy, machinist or not And in the 19th century we had rose engines of the utmost precision, dunno what u are talking about
@@gt1man931 it's a tool she can and will use to improve her ability to do work. With proper adjustment that lathe will be capable of quite close tolerance work. It was being scrapped because it wasn't time efficient to restore in shop, the time it would require was more valuable than the cost to replace it. The floorspace it occupied would be more efficient dedicated to paying jobs, rather than a free moments project.
Again, I am sure she doesn't care what other people expect out of it. It will be interesting to see how she uses it in upcoming repairs. But I don't expect anything anywhere close to professional machinist level work from her.

That is an excellent restoration of the lathe Guoer. Just make sure you oil the parts that slide regularly so they don't wear. And also make sure you tie your hair up and don't have loose clothing when using it so you don't get caught in it. Lathes are very unforgiving if you get caught in them. Good to see you wearing your glasses when using it. You should try to find some internal jaws for the chuck also, it will make life easier and a bit safer. @@loicpoupel4081 She repaired it for her own use. Pink color contrasts with tools and materials, easier to spot debri and keep clean. Fewer disagreements with her associates over selling the now valuable and easily identified device.
I have a 1977 version of that lathe, much of it is identical. In good working order but it does need some repairs at some point. A beautiful example of high quality manufacturing, I wouldn't swap it for any other I like it so much.

I LOVE your work. You wearing the gloves when running power tools (ie the grinder) scares me to death and I hate using open end wrenches. I have rebuilt a good number of machines I used early in my career as a machinist. Watching your results is wonderful. (yes, I understand well how much work it is) 😀

I spent a few years operating lathes as a teenager....I forgot to take the key out of a chuck once ..luckily without getting hit by it.

犀利！又打、又踏、又燒焊、有噴油！第一次見到有粉紅色嘅車床！犀利！犀利！
哇 ! 果兒真是太利害了 ! 原先整修氣油機，柴油機，發電機，抽水機。現在開始整修淘汰的老舊車床，可說是(妙手回春，化腐朽為神奇)。
不過車床加上底座非常重，建議可在底座下放安裝ㄧ組，有制動裝置的輪子，可方便移動。(輪子宜選用每個可承受50Kg以上的那種)。此外，車床的底座上，最好加上ㄧ組水平儀，這樣，切削油就不會只集中在特定的ㄧ點 ! 祝妳成功，加油 !

操作车床时，务必用法罩，把头发全部包覆，散发操作太危险啦！当年我厂一女工，散发操作，不慎被工件波及卷入，整块头皮被卷烂，面部永久性挫伤。这么干不行！示范有误！快改！

Our chuck keys are fitted with ejection springs, so it is impossible to leave the key in the chuck.

That is an excellent restoration of the lathe Guoer. Just make sure you oil the parts that slide regularly so they don't wear. And also make sure you tie your hair up and don't have loose clothing when using it so you don't get caught in it. Lathes are very unforgiving if you get caught in them. Good to see you wearing your glasses when using it. You should try to find some internal jaws for the chuck also, it will make life easier and a bit safer. Good luck practicing, I look forward to seeing what you make on the lathe.

She repaired it for her own use. Pink color contrasts with tools and materials, easier to spot debri and keep clean. Fewer disagreements with her associates over selling the now valuable and easily identified device.

I have a 1977 version of that lathe, much of it is identical. In good working order but it does need some repairs at some point. A beautiful example of high quality manufacturing, I wouldn't swap it for any other I like it so much.

I LOVE your work. You wearing the gloves when running power tools (ie the grinder) scares me to death and I hate using open end wrenches. I have rebuilt a good number of machines I used early in my career as a machinist. Watching your results is wonderful. (yes, I understand well how much work it is) 😀
This girl is an actress hired to pretend to be a mechanic and other skilled trades-person. In reality sThe can't do any of these things on her own. And if you for one second believe she is doing all this you need some help. She is an actress not accomplished at any skill. At least they should make her look the part. This The girl is an actress. She was hired to do the "ROLE" there is no way she can be an expert electrician/carpenter/is an insult to any skilled trades person. And there are many shorts of Asian women who really do the work. This is not one of them. She is not a mechanic, or an electrician, or anything else.
