Paul, if you had a tool post grinder you could relieve the I.d. of the crownwheel. Hardness no problem!

Very interesting, a car that I know absolutely nothing about so I won't comment any further, (that makes a change)!

I guess to add my $0.02, as a machinist and mech. eng. The wall thickness of that is more than enough for a few hundred hp, and from the years of working on oilfield centrifuges ive learned to always use the running surfaces (ie: bearing surfaces, primary location fits, dowels...) to dial in on.
Obviously this works like a dream since it just...works. But as a hair of caution if something comes out of the blue for a project that needs something akin to this done (wheel bearing housing, hubs, seal fits, counterbores, etc) its a safe bet to use a primary datum surface, which usually turns out to be the housing for a bearing or the shaft for a bearing.
Dont know why i bothered commenting on something thats just works with an opinion, but just maybe a thing to keep in the back of your mind.
Just cause somebody elses thing passed their QC doesnt always mean it works or fits correctly.
Love the video and the way you go about explaining what needs to be done, and how it needs to be done is fantastic. I would have learned alot better with you as an engineering prof lol.
Keep up the awesome works, love the video. Sorry the rant.
    Cheers

I don’t Stick to any one Brand but I am partial to Dormer, Seco and any thing made in the Uk or Germany in the 70’s and 80’s
