Unfortunately I did not record the relic process. :( This original video series was mainly intended to give my buddy updates on his guitar...and then it grew it into something else. So, at the time I wasn't thinking about filming that tedious process...but I wish I had!
Those necks are beautiful, I’ve watched all the pass videos but can’t remember if you stated the fret size and radius (maybe price too). Thanks for these videos, I just started my build and you are a big influence and inspiration. 🤘🏼✌🏼
If you look closely at photos of the original, that was actually a piece of tape that Eddie put there after it was painted. ;) So, once my guitar was painted I added that stripe with black gaffers tape.

The only thing I didn’t quite catch was how you went about relic’ing the double stick tape marks on the red paint? How do you go about getting the white spots to show thru the red to mirror his pick tape lines?
I basically just used an Xacto knife tip and lightly "flicked" the paint. I practiced on scrap first, but it was pretty easy to do once I go the technique down.

Not that I'm aware of.
I remember ordering the 5150 decals years ago from nobozos, the same guy responsible for probably the best known reference photos of the real guitar.
Ah yes!! The Nobozos photos are priceless. Wish there were more of those!!!!

I'm glad you liked the videos!! These necks have a 10" radius and 6100 jumbo frets. Price was around $215 back then. Hope this helps.

Thanks! That red was a specific "Chevy Red Orange" paint code 71. Mixed up by Sherwin Williams.
