Oh really? Because Serval is the only Lighting DPS I've built right now 😅 I'm not a fan of Kafka and Jing Yuan so I skipped them both, honestly I'm glad Algae is Lighting but that's just me.
We should stop laser focusing on the element type because the only gamemode in which it matters now Apocalyptic Shadow. You can off element easily nowadays in other gamemodes. Aglaea not only has better stats/multipliers because of powercreep but she also plays into the enemy design of Amphoreus, i.e, frequent attacks.
No disrespect to Kafka or King JY but Acheron is the only "current meta" lightening character. Other than Lightening, Quantum and Ice both need a dps and both are getting one in Castorice and The Herta, the other elements, Wind(Feixiao), Physical(Yunli/Boothill), Fire(Firefly), Imaginary(Rappa) are all covered.
@@sphong0610 even if they're not Meta they're still pretty solid Dps', Kafka and DoT is still strong despite hoyo neglecting it, and JY is ceiling in the top tier due to him having a massive boost with Sunday, theres also a problem with Lightning dps' that all of them have... nah I think dot will be buffed in amphoreus, think of it this way, true damage ignores all buffs and debuffs meaning bosses with like absurd resistances (3.0 moc boss), true damage will just pierce through. I bet they'll release either a true damage dot dps, or a dot support that enables dot to do true damage, so far mem doesn't work well with dot since the true damage doesn't proc on the dot, only on the character action.
@@Void-ui8sz RMC true damage uses the "original" damage as a multiplier and the "original" damage already has to go through all the buffs/debuffs/defence/resistance etc. True damage basically means it doesn't double dip but since the original damage already went through the def/res it technically has been affected already.
I think the ignoring of buff/debuff is not a meta and more of a balance check, because every summon will be almost like an extra team mate. Potentially having an extra team mate's worth of DPS benefitting from the Harmony/Nihility supports, combined with the fact that there's nothing stopping you from running 2-3 remembrance with all their summons, the damage can go overboard and break the game, it would be like having a team of 3 feixiao-level DPS getting all their follow-ups buffed by a Robin or something. The other more obvious reason is hoyo will still need to sell Harmony/Nihility supports, lest they join Preservation in the club of under-represented paths going forward. So it wouldn't make sense to suddenly have a meta where damage doesnt need to care about buffs/debuffs anymore.
I hope to see a video where you compare The Herta and Aglaea. There are likely many players, myself included, who want to acquire a new DPS this patch, but won't be grabbing both of them. As it stands, I need some insights/leaks on Tribbie and Mydei before I'm willing to commit more than 180 tickets this patch.
From leaks, herta seems to be better. Also, with aglaea, you need to find a dps remembrance cone, meanwhile herta has options aside from her sig. downside is she needs a second erudition unit, which if someone is new, didnt pull any, has no himeko, etc building her team probably means you use doll herta, which while fine(good even) does mean your two aoe units are stuck on one side until you get another (like jade, or ig build serval)
180 tickets should get you Aglaea + LC, even E1S1 if you're lucky. I'd say depends on what else you got on you roster and what else you plan to pull for. FYI seems like Tribbie will buff Def Shred, Res Pen, Dmg boost but no Action Advance or speed boost, her buffs will get stronger with more targets and Ult will have FuA. Mydei will be a Imaginary Destruction unit scaling with HP loss, so Blade's playstyle with different element.
As it stands, if you have sunday, aglaea will be the no.1 dps on release, and the gap is pretty significant, probably since all endgame mods favor her, nonetheless she is still very strong. E1 aglaea without sunday = E0 aglaea with sunday. If you have sunday, go S1. E1 aglaea + sunday is strong but it depends on your roster since you'll be able to kick out qpq gallagher or huohuo for a more offensive support bcz you don't need that much energy anymore. The Herta is looking to be really F2P friendly because she can very comfortably run an all 4 star team. It's both a blessing and a curse because our current 5 star roster don't actually benefit her that much besides robin and lingsha, any other 5 star is just a teeny improvement over her 4 star team. This ofc means she has a huge room for improvement and we can only wait to see how well she will age, we still need her bis erudition and her bis harmony (which may be tribbie), her bis sustain is lingsha. Forgot to mention, her multipliers are ridiculous, her 4 star team does more damage than acheron with jiaqiou, and this is her without her bis teammates.

I spent 160 tickets to acquire Sunday. Even so, I have the resources to invest more heavily if needed. I'd rather not, since it be a shame to run dry just as 3.X begins. Let's face it we all know HSR isn't a DPS game, it's a Harmony and Nihility meta. They are the most important units. I was planning on skipping Tribbie but when they revealed her as a Harmony unit my whole pull schedule got ruined. Well you need E1S1 Aglaea that is the minimum bar to set for, if you want to Run Aglaea ... and you need either Robin or Sunday and Hou Hou. that is her Tier 0 Team. so if you have her optimal team at E0S0 she needs Robin Sunday and Hou Hou to hit her meta dps.
