  • Singapore chef Hawker Chan is the only chef in the world to get a Michelin star for street food. We tried the chef's char siew pork, which is sticky pork served with rice, during a three-day event in King's Cross, in Central London. The meal cost £6 ($7.95).

    People who are complaining that it's expensive must be dense. First of all, he's selling to Londoners, who, last time I checked, aren't earning Singapore Dollars. Not to mention the ingredients that he bought using pounds, and the rental for the truck as well. Besides that, he also flew half the globe and have to also pay for accommodation and transportation while he's there. Even if he's sponsored, somone has to make money in the end no?

    • @kuroshiro413

      MagicalKid also, you can see the people lining up. It is simply supply and demand. If he sold it for cheaper than he would 1. be an idiot, 2. overwork himself with all the people endlessly lining up. If he can raise the prices and people are willing to stop by, why should he not do so?

    How is $8 too expensive? If there is someone who thinks this is too expensive, they've obviously never tried it. Hawker Chan is my favorite food stall in my country. The flavor in their food tastes so much better than even most fine dining restaurants and that's not even an exaggeration. Their food doesn't just taste cooked. Their food tastes PREPARED. You can't make some simple pieces of pork taste that heavenly without preparing it for hours beforehand.

    Are people really complaining about the 6 pound price?? I live in America and I on average pay $15 per meal for myself when eating out.. 6 pounds is $7.99 and that's legit so cheap, that's like almost as much as a drink at Starbucks...

    • @netweed09
      @netweed09 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fair enough but even here the price does rack up; inflation right now means it's most likely gone upto £7.50. And that's one dish; you'll maybe be wanting a side and accompanying starter.
      £15 would be a common spend there for a hungry customer. That's the equivalent of over £80's here in the UK to those locals.

      it’s because when meat is tough/not tender enough u have to use a knife to cut it to make it easier to eat. The meat is tender enough u don’t you need a knife

      @@lockkeythetrickstar5359 you clearly don't know how this sort of thing works. You would have to go to the back of the line because it's your fault that you dropped your food. They aren't just going to give you another plate. If you want more you're going to have to wait again
