A vocation visit is when you spend time with a particular community with no obligation to stay. you just live like one of them for a few weeks and see if you want to begin formation. usually takes about 5-6 years. For me I had a herd time deciding between being a smart university prof. with a doctorate as a Jesuit or OP or a beggar working among the poor folks in the Bronx. I finally realized that I was more inclined to live a simple life among the poor and minister to them. That's just me tho.

I know how you feel. It is a matter of deciding what God made you to do and what you feel most at peace with. Do you like the hard core vow of poverty and dedication to the preaching of the gospel (CFR) do you like a semi cloistered setting with daily prayer and meditation as well as preaching, usually in an intellectual setting (OP) or what. Prayer really helps a lot. I would say try the shoes on and see if they fit. Make a vocations visit to the various communities and see which one attracts u

Not a Christian, and I think most religions of the book are pure placebo. Be that as it may, I like this order. They seem pretty chill :)

the IFs do the extraordinary form ocasionally, they do both forms. They are awesome, but they do a lot with the media: they use youtube a lot, they also publish books, pamphlets etc. They are also semi monastic.

@YANKEEKID95 Dear Brother, even if I agree with Cheesemonkey, I still encourage you to pray for the OFM.
I, for myself, like the Franciscans of the Immaculate which celebrate the Traditional Mass in Latin, while having a meaningful Franciscan apostolate. The family of St. Francis is SO big. God help them all.

I've been a great supporter of this order. I've visited with them at their Newark NJ Friary, and have met several of the original founders. But I have to agree with you I was bugged out seeing him read and drive. A really poor choice & message, and not cool at all!

join the FCRs then. DO NOT JOIN OFM. They lost the spirit of Francis BIG TIME!!! CRFs got it right. I will be making a vocation visit to NYC in the summer, hopefully...
