I remember on a toram stream that they are thinking of making magic devices the "supports". I hope they make new support skills special to md that will make supports more viable in parties.
I think asobimo need to fix : 1. Their writing details on skills 2. Remove the limitations on support skill. Example can only play one song for minstrel, why not make it half-half I mean you can use 2 song but only gain 50% of the benefit of those song played. 3. Put how much percentage you gain on skill when using/or have the required condition of a skill. So player don't need to freaking calculated or find the percentage on their own, seriously. Imo, I always loved Hybrids, Out-of-the-ordinary, underrated weapons and builds more. Not because they're underrated or I feel pity because they're weak. But because of how versatile and powerful they can be depending on the person, and how they can bring out the strength of something, even with limitations. One thing to consider while making a unique or out of the ordinary build is that to know its limitations, knowing it's weakness and applying it's strengths. It may be weaker in terms of the way you initially intended it to be, aka Tanking or DPS, but if you know how to apply the strengths and acknowledge it's weaknesses, then you'll be able to bring out the best of that build or weapon. Just like with MD and Knux, the Hybrids like "Fu"/Sub Knux, "Fairy"/Sub MD, Semi Tank, Bowtana, and Mage Supports. All of them are particularly looked at as "weak", "waste of skill points", "unviable", and they have the right to think that. But if you were dedicated in it's craft, acknowledging it's weaknesses and limitations then applying it's strengths, you'll be able do way more than the usual "brain-dead" "meta" builds we always see. And this doesn't just apply to Toram too. I personally love and will always adore people who chooses to use "underrated", Out of the ordinary, "Non meta", and Unique builds and "Weak" characters/weapons/classes. Because of their ability to bring out the best in what they use.

Like for say, Semi tank can both tank and deal dps, either by switching out gear, or literally as a substitute if the tank dies, Mage Supports are capable of dealing considerable damage, whilst supporting the party with buffs and mp regen, Fairy Builds are particularly better at proration because of their access to Magic and Physical Skills and can also be used as support, Bowtana has Katana skills for close range (to quickly close the distance with the built in shukuchi to avoid certain aoes), faster aa from Katana on close range, and survivability, while Bow can dish out the charge damage whilst Katana can spam/do "Damage per second". Fu builds are also pretty versatile, access to Knuckle skills means you'll be able to use the Knux skills the same way Main can, like all round Interrupts, ailments and all that. People focus too much on the weaknesses and treat them like some disfigured amalgamation of skills. But in reality they're more than that, and that's why I love them because of their versatility. And also my type.
@@bakutori Yeah, I always were the type to love complex things, and trying to bring out the best of it through optimisation, because of my mind oriented skills. But if it involves fast hands, precise and fast body movements, etc, I will definitely struggle. And by complex I mean like having alot of options, alot of versatility, and having alot of "kit" in what to do, factor in how my mind is able to construct strategies and analyse things easily on the go, then yeah. So that's also the reason why I tend to stick to the tankier side of things, because I just cannot use Glasscannons and is weak in those things lol.
Funny thing is, ever since I started playing toram back when lvl70 was the level cap, I've always done hybrid builds. Swordfu, Sword MD, Tank-dps (Semi-tank) sword, semi tank knukles, and now my main build that I use mostly is my "Dark Knight" build that uses as much of the dark power skill tree as possible with a little bit of blade skills. It is also a semi tank build lol. VIT and STR. Is it meta? no. Is it fun af? Hell yeah. Maybe one day Asobimo will make hybrids like mine shine more in the future.

well i hv a bowtana build and it's currently ready to get some of the needed t5 skills.... what most players tend to forget about bowtana builds is that bowtana can have additional buffs from meikyo and kairiki that normal katana users always gets by just simply equipping a katana.... and yes bowtana has unstable damage and what it can make up is survivability in which.... MOST DPS TENDS TO FORGET.... and not everyone has the luxury of being able to buy book of darkness just to access soul hunt's I-Frames.... tho sometimes i use my custom build Dark 2HS (which is STR>DEX>VIT) (i was able to buy book of darkness at that time since budget allowed me to) since it's more durable than my other builds (except my tank).... yes i know the dmg is sh*t but what it definitely makes it up is for being able to endure certain attacks and BEING ABLE TO RESCUE DEAD WEIGHT GLASS-CANNONS WHO LIKES TO SHOW-OFF HOW HIGH THEIR DMG IS and being able to take in the tank's role in case of.... oh idk.... IN CASE OF GETTING KILLED PERHAPS???

Imo, its better to use maximized srd and cd build when using bowtana. like katana sh builds (since sh doesnt hv unseathe element). Also accuracy actually really important, it just matter of time before the accuracy meta(probably xD) . Since there are so many things that can develop accuracy build (like naiata tiara, dutannen, sod). Its really good to use them especially beating kuzto. Since kuzto ulti hv only 1600 flee.
"Only 1k6" bruh not even Dex build can reach 1k accu without Naita Tiara, which is a limited item. It's useless tbh. You would probably have more chance hitting Irestida with 100 crit rate build.
I dont think maximizing srd and cd is such a good idea. Well yes, your cf and tenryu will hits harder on alto, but the attacks will tickle on higher def. You can counter that with sat, but you loses atk mult for it. About cd then u already have decent cd with 1 agel tbh

Add sbm (i prefer this than christmas or evil tiara) lefina and alfenix(i prefer prudent thats why its 89%) 25% sicarius (with scroll) and 10% penetrating oil (64%+35%=99%)

And... Please be considerate for others, for instance, if ur party play 1 hp at lefina, don't be angry of they told you not to heal. If they want FB/fk pls adjust. If party want to lure miniboss to kill it one by one, pls adjust. If party want to tackle multiple minibosses at once, pls adjust. Don't just spam skill and destroy team proration. Situation like this changes with different boss/ party. Pls Don't be lazy and adjust your combo and timing. Sometimes it's not ur build, it's you.
After playing with bow for like 3months i gave up on been in meta and got to the weapon i wanted to try the most:katana. Damn i love how fast the blade swings and we'll i found ur videos cuz of that ^^
The minstel skill is literally have OP effect but too many restrictions on that skill like only do one song and take too long on stacking.. Same goes with dancer. I think devs need to be rework this 2 support skills to make more viable to use because nowadays, killing some boss is really fast or really hard and need some fast buffing or anything.
yeah I really think that they should add skill multiplier in descriptions. Like bruhh, I Build Maxed out my eternal nm but THE MINUS DEF IS TRASHH i feel no difference. TO TELL YOU MY DARK SKILLS ARE PRETTY MAXED OUT. Also if they decided a support only skill that increase CRT DMG that will be POG and make supports more viable.
As a Halberd+Arrow Main, I'm starting to feel envious of DEX Users (Bow and Katana) because you are starting to see how even in Nightmare Diff, Accuracy is becoming an important factor with so many Crit-Resist Bosses around.

Katana Soul Hunter is op af. You dont have to change your stats and skills are fairly easy to max out. Just spam tenryu like always then pop out the soul hunter smite when full stacks. Makes it feel like you're playing dual wield with occasional bursts
Plus, you can use sh as to save tenryu stacks. But skills being easy to max out is arguable tbh, if u sacrifice ninja for dark then u will not have 25% pp nor kunai opener. If you sac impact and finale then u will have troubles managing mp when soloing
Id rather take the ninja skills investing on darkness as a ktn is a waste of sp you already have plenty of s at your disposal and if you dont suck and die every 5 seconds you can easily outdps any sh spammer with just your tenryu alone not to mention the crazy damage zanou does when used at 4/4 stacks and dont get me started on the damage garou does when used at 10/10 after a successful zantei

IGN: GreyWarden Hehm. you do have a point Baku. I am personally somehow much prefer a hybrid build DPS, rather than a "glass-cannon" DPS. My most reliable hybrid DPS is a knight (it is actually Paladin, but I prefer to call it Knight :v), My knight has decent survivability with "Guard" and P. Defense, and in some situations, it deals good damage and a guaranteed critical hit with revenir, I like my knight a lot, it's versatile. BUT the problem is u have to tumble/stun/flinch (interrupt) the boss to gain revenir stacks, and MOST TANKS always interrupt the boss first before knights do, AND some bosses you should not and could not interrupt. then how we knight could launch revenir? so to compensate this I use soul hunter as DPS OR rely on P. Defense to gain revenir stacks.
I wanted to make some weapons with some stats I think are good but stating is idk how to put it but yea. I use a sword and dagger skill for one of my characters, and like my farmer… the builds change so much I just use them for weak mobs like lvl 50 and down even tho they 141 and 102 they weak lol been playing for years and am still doing things wrong… I like the sword and dagger build. I’d like to go sword dagger and magic but like that’s to many skills, be a fun build but the damage for magic would be small, maybe a pet hunter so to speak because can’t cause that much damage, it would be a special role I guess… I use dagge for the additional damage, am peaking at 150% … yea when it hits it does a lot of damage but it don’t do nothing for my melee skills,

Currently working on a Ninja/Mage/Fu/Priest (main/dps I'll call "Grand Sage") and BG/MB/Wizard/Mage (farmer I'll call "I thought about Bayonetta") hybrids/customs, but I'm having trouble due to money issues. I've gotten into selling Bird Wings but it's just SO slow. I still need to BUY the ninja book, sadge. Hybrid builds are so cool solely cuz Toram even lets you do them in the first place, and meta builds like Finale are depressing for the same reason. But I guess metas always tend to be boring. This video was great, taught me that I shouldn't give up on my hybrids as long as I play it smart- _(as I painfully stare at that 1 point I spent in Familiar: Thunder)_
Yo, update for anyone who cares. Couple years later and I feel I have somewhat successfully created the hybrid build I had in mind. Tier 5 skills have made things easier, and my "Grand Sage" has dropped the Ninja to focus on Magic/Knux/Priest with Knux-MD. Long story short: I am INT>AGI; I use Asura Aura punches to rapidly stack Nemesis; Enchanted Spell to auto-cast M.Lance and stack M.Burst; and spam M.Crash for Armor Break and primary M.Cannon charging. Not nearly as OP as other mainstream builds- mostly held back by mediocre gear- but BOY is it fun! Happened upon this video again and I just wanted to say thanks again for the bode of confidence and knowledge to stick with and optimize my builds. I'm now working on like 8 different other builds, each with their own unique flair!
@RAM yeah but if u cant reach the enemy fast enough to use pslash and sr then they can just shield canon you once then you gonna be a sitting duck for 5 seconds
@RAM so you said skills like cf can reaches 20k dmg with 64 mult. Shield canon is 22.5, revenir is 39, which is 61.5 mult, nealy 20k. They can do what cf do in a span of 7-8 seconds, while having extremely fast tumbling and stun animation. As a side note, guard exist and parry exist

@RAM @RAM i dont list guard for no reason. Guard grants 100% ailment resistance, while also negating the shadowstep tactic since it blocks everything in a 180° angle, meaning you only have to slightly move a bit to cover the freeze and flinch from ds, while also reflect 11 mult at full guard gauge, only reducing a bit for every hit of ds. The benefits on paper isnt they key to winning, but rather how practical it is in battle. As long as the guard gauge is up, paladin can pretty much do as much dmg as they want. That all up there is in the case of not having any guard power% (raw 10k guard power only) So basically, if you plan to spam sc, then you would be receiving 11 mult into your face every hit you do 10 mult, and that dmg that you do is reduced drastically due to guard dmg reduction. Furthermore, sc with crit use 5 mp every time, meaning you will lose mp at a breakneck speed. Recovering mp forces you to do normal attack, which once again active the reflect dmg, and you barely scratches the guard gauge. You were basically ignoring the strongest factor available for pvp for paladin
An interesting video, considering I'm a Katana DPS Tank hybrid, i didn't know that Katana had a higher survivability rate compared to the other dps classes, just thought "well, if I'm gonna be doing damage, might as well deal it consistently" i can sub for the tank if they die kind of thing. Motion tanking is fun ngl.
yeah a lot of the other classes have to go far out of their way for an invul skill to dodge some attacks, or evade a lot. some lacking the skills altogether. With gsw making them take far more damage and die in one tap anyway. while katana has full damage reduction tied to it's dps moves and some other smaller reductions on others. lets it survive easier without losing out on nearly as much dps as other classes
Banger video Creativity is ruined by high numbers... I really really want to experiment and try fun and complex builds. But it's freakin' impossible cuz of this min-maxing meta. Parties will not invite or kick u if youre shit cuz your build doesn't show high numbers or saves the party. Like bruh. And most of the time, No party = no levels, no money, no events. Trying hybrid and fun experimental builds (and making it work) is fcking impossible if you're broke and low lvl.
i think they fixed support skill because after tier 5 is out dev said they will fix magic swordsman skill to be better and i think they will strenghten others skill too.
To newbies , Hybrids are usually fun ONLY IF THEY HAVE T5 SKILLS ☺️ So max a char fast so you can build Hybrids asap ✌️ I built Revenir on my 1st char it was a hell of lvling 😅 Not becuz Revenir is bad , but its becuz I dont have T5 skills to maximize it ☺️ Now I rebuild my revenir and its so Good 🤗
I hope lv5 can give us more actual freedom in skill building. Almost every strong build need SH now lol, even Hybrid build can get better result from spamming it.
An addition, why minstrel skills other than fantasy and ad-lib bad coz those skills need at least a min just to get 10stacks to maximize the result, which just last for 2-3minutes only. Also battle duration each time just under 30 sec, so not worth at all. except for additional guitar emotions with various color set xD
Yea and also to get that dte bonus for that song, you need to have an element in your weapon. Kinda sad coz you can get dte stat even without ele with just armor alone. And in random pt you cant really use this to its potential coz not all use element.
the problem I face is making a fun build that is also as strong as a meta build. can’t have you doing kung fu kicks and shooting big shiny lances when it does substandard dps. my main character is a Katana with Dark skills, dex>vit=str stats. built like this due to being alone all the time. this one has very high survivability and high damage output. so far, this is the only build that I find fun and strong at the same time. I have another character that uses a Staff, some kind of tank/healer hybrid, vit>int>dex>mtl stats. this one practically can’t die and also does high damage, but really boring to play.
Might as well use a 2hs with that stat distribution.putting vit on katana is pointless since using gsw+kairiki is a must and both those skills will make your character squishy anyways so building survivability is kind of a waste.unless you dont then that will affect your dps a great deal+ how sluggish your char would move without gsw thus making u atk slower=less dps.and i dont understand why some ktn users use dark when u already have tenryu zanou zantei magadachi and garou.

support skills is super important because of first aid kit, I got the badge of pro - first aid kitter by using the first aid kit 700times

In dte weapon, i got 1639. But i didnt use it since my dte fire wep are outdated

The minstel skill is literally have OP effect but too many restrictions on that skill like only do one song and take too long on stacking.. Same goes with dancer. I think devs need to be rework this 2 support skills to make more viable to use because nowadays, killing some boss is really fast or really hard and need some fast buffing or anything.

yeah I really think that they should add skill multiplier in descriptions. Like bruhh, I Build Maxed out my eternal nm but THE MINUS DEF IS TRASHH i feel no difference. TO TELL YOU MY DARK SKILLS ARE PRETTY MAXED OUT.

Katana Soul Hunter is op af. You dont have to change your stats and skills are fairly easy to max out. Just spam tenryu like always then pop out the soul hunter smite when full stacks. Makes it feel like you're playing dual wield with occasional bursts

Plus, you can use sh as to save tenryu stacks. But skills being easy to max out is arguable tbh, if u sacrifice ninja for dark then u will not have 25% pp nor kunai opener. If you sac impact and finale then u will have troubles managing mp when soloing
Id rather take the ninja skills investing on darkness as a ktn is a waste of sp you already have plenty of s at your disposal and if you dont suck and die every 5 seconds you can easily outdps any sh spammer with just your tenryu alone not to mention the crazy damage zanou does when used at 4/4 stacks and dont get me started on the damage garou does when used at 10/10 after a successful zantei

Hehm. you do have a point Baku. I am personally somehow much prefer a hybrid build DPS, rather than a "glass-cannon" DPS. My most reliable hybrid DPS is a knight (it is actually Paladin, but I prefer to call it Knight :v), My knight has decent survivability with "Guard" and P. Defense, and in some situations, it deals good damage and a guaranteed critical hit with revenir, I like my knight a lot, it's versatile. BUT the problem is u have to tumble/stun/flinch (interrupt) the boss to gain revenir stacks, and MOST TANKS always interrupt the boss first before knights do, AND some bosses you should not and could not interrupt. then how we knight could launch revenir? so to compensate this I use soul hunter as DPS OR rely on P. Defense to gain revenir stacks.
I wanted to make some weapons with some stats I think are good but stating is idk how to put it but yea. I use a sword and dagger skill for one of my characters, and like my farmer… the builds change so much I just use them for weak mobs like lvl 50 and down even tho they 141 and 102 they weak lol been playing for years and am still doing things wrong… I like the sword and dagger build. I’d like to go sword dagger and magic but like that’s to many skills, be a fun build but the damage for magic would be small, maybe a pet hunter so to speak because can’t cause that much damage, it would be a special role I guess… I use dagge for the additional damage, am peaking at 150% … yea when it hits it does a lot of damage but it don’t do nothing for my melee skills,

Currently working on a Ninja/Mage/Fu/Priest (main/dps I'll call "Grand Sage") and BG/MB/Wizard/Mage (farmer I'll call "I thought about Bayonetta") hybrids/customs, but I'm having trouble due to money issues. I've gotten into selling Bird Wings but it's just SO slow. I still need to BUY the ninja book, sadge. Hybrid builds are so cool solely cuz Toram even lets you do them in the first place, and meta builds like Finale are depressing for the same reason. But I guess metas always tend to be boring.
This video was great, taught me that I shouldn't give up on my hybrids as long as I play it smart- _(as I painfully stare at that 1 point I spent in Familiar: Thunder)_
Yo, update for anyone who cares. Couple years later and I feel I have somewhat successfully created the hybrid build I had in mind. Tier 5 skills have made things easier, and my "Grand Sage" has dropped the Ninja to focus on Magic/Knux/Priest with Knux-MD.
Long story short: I am INT>AGI; I use Asura Aura punches to rapidly stack Nemesis; Enchanted Spell to auto-cast M.Lance and stack M.Burst; and spam M.Crash for Armor Break and primary M.Cannon charging. Not nearly as OP as other mainstream builds- mostly held back by mediocre gear- but BOY is it fun!
Happened upon this video again and I just wanted to say thanks again for the bode of confidence and knowledge to stick with and optimize my builds. I'm now working on like 8 different other builds, each with their own unique flair!
When PVP arrives lets see if these glasscannons can stand a chance xD. These paladins will reign over!

@RAM so you said skills like cf can reaches 20k dmg with 64 mult. Shield canon is 22.5, revenir is 39, which is 61.5 mult, nealy 20k. They can do what cf do in a span of 7-8 seconds, while having extremely fast tumbling and stun animation. As a side note, guard exist and parry exist

@RAM @RAM i dont list guard for no reason. Guard grants 100% ailment resistance, while also negating the shadowstep tactic since it blocks everything in a 180° angle, meaning you only have to slightly move a bit to cover the freeze and flinch from ds, while also reflect 11 mult at full guard gauge, only reducing a bit for every hit of ds. The benefits on paper isnt they key to winning, but rather how practical it is in battle. As long as the guard gauge is up, paladin can pretty much do as much dmg as they want. That all up there is in the case of not having any guard power% (raw 10k guard power only)
So basically, if you plan to spam sc, then you would be receiving 11 mult into your face every hit you do 10 mult, and that dmg that you do is reduced drastically due to guard dmg reduction. Furthermore, sc with crit use 5 mp every time, meaning you will lose mp at a breakneck speed. Recovering mp forces you to do normal attack, which once again active the reflect dmg, and you barely scratches the guard gauge. You were basically ignoring the strongest factor available for pvp for paladin

An interesting video, considering I'm a Katana DPS Tank hybrid, i didn't know that Katana had a higher survivability rate compared to the other dps classes, just thought "well, if I'm gonna be doing damage, might as well deal it consistently" i can sub for the tank if they die kind of thing. Motion tanking is fun ngl.
yeah a lot of the other classes have to go far out of their way for an invul skill to dodge some attacks, or evade a lot. some lacking the skills altogether. With gsw making them take far more damage and die in one tap anyway. while katana has full damage reduction tied to it's dps moves and some other smaller reductions on others. lets it survive easier without losing out on nearly as much dps as other classes

Creativity is ruined by high numbers... I really really want to experiment and try fun and complex builds. But it's freakin' impossible cuz of this min-maxing meta. Parties will not invite or kick u if youre shit cuz your build doesn't show high numbers or saves the party. Like bruh. And most of the time, No party = no levels, no money, no events. Trying hybrid and fun experimental builds (and making it work) is fcking impossible if you're broke and low lvl.

i think they fixed support skill because after tier 5 is out dev said they will fix magic swordsman skill to be better and i think they will strenghten others skill too.

Yea and also to get that dte bonus for that song, you need to have an element in your weapon. Kinda sad coz you can get dte stat even without ele with just armor alone. And in random pt you cant really use this to its potential coz not all use element.

the problem I face is making a fun build that is also as strong as a meta build. can’t have you doing kung fu kicks and shooting big shiny lances when it does substandard dps.
my main character is a Katana with Dark skills, dex>vit=str stats. built like this due to being alone all the time. this one has very high survivability and high damage output. so far, this is the only build that I find fun and strong at the same time. I have another character that uses a Staff, some kind of tank/healer hybrid, vit>int>dex>mtl stats. this one practically can’t die and also does high damage, but really boring to play.
Might as well use a 2hs with that stat distribution.putting vit on katana is pointless since using gsw+kairiki is a must and both those skills will make your character squishy anyways so building survivability is kind of a waste.unless you dont then that will affect your dps a great deal+ how sluggish your char would move without gsw thus making u atk slower=less dps.and i dont understand why some ktn users use dark when u already have tenryu zanou zantei magadachi and garou.
