Still ain't wrong. It takes a bit longer to get to one punchline we see coming in this episode versus a quick 3 piece combo of jokes in rapid succession in the pilot. They'll get even better, so it isn't worth worrying about tbh

The dialogue just isn't as punchy right now. Katie Killjoy's writing is watered down also. So it's not just "I don't like her character as much with the new VA", but that the writing for some characters changed along with the changing of hte VAs. The Radio Demon being another one in ep 1 and 2 of this show. He had some good moments, but also some moments where his personality is toned down a bit. And my final complaint being in episode 2. The final song in ep 2....I hated it. I think others will probably dislike it too. The show is still decent, but the pilot is better so far.

I’m so happy for Viv that she got the VA for Alastor who she actually modeled him after! She modeled him after “You’re never fully dressed without a smile” and Amir Talai was the man who sang it on Broadway! Edit: I feel like the humor is toned down a lot more, mainly to make the drama more impactful. Sometimes too much humor can harm the tone. In a lot of Helluva Boss episodes, the humor takes away from the tension. For example, the song segment in the episode where striker kidnaps Stolas, and the call between Stolas and Blitzo in the first episode are both funny, but the tension is ripped away.
Yeah, I really didn't like that the hostage takers in that Helluva Boss episode all became generic cartoon idiots just so that song could happen. I like the song but come on.
I like the humor now more bc it makes things more mature and less childish in a way I get that nux wants snappy humor but let’s be honest the pilot was sensory overload with too many things happening in a short time and not enough for us to actually process information about hell or the characters

I think part of the problem with the 'snappiness' of the jokes is that the pilot really felt like they were originally going for a 'creature of the week' format where you need to fit everything in a 20-25 minute episode so the jokes HAVE to be snappy and quick to keep the pace to finish the story arc by episode's end. This feels more long form and more like it's a sitcom set in hell.

I love how the characters, especially Alastor, feel so much more alive now that more episodes are out to expand on them (obviously since it was just a pilot at first). Alastor just has more personality now in my opinion, he comes off as so smug and confident with things that he is hiding, unlike in the pilot where it felt like he was just "ooooo creepy tumblr sexy man!!". I've grown to enjoy his character so much more.

Its hard to say whether the story at the start is in universe propaganda. But it's also possible Lucifer just had good intentions but just made a stupid mistake kinda like how sinners did. Since this show already takes inspiration from various biblical mythology such as Dante's inferno with the rings aspect. In aspect of Lucifer the more sympathetic light may be reminiscent of paradise lost.
Funny how in paradise lost, Lucifer only needed to apologize to God and ask for forgiveness but his massive ego prevented him from doing so as he proceeds to ruin everything LOL
I especially like Alastor and Vox's rivalry especially when it comes to their ideals of technology and the theme of broadcasting and viewership. Basically a slap fight between a boomer and zoomer but they're good foils to one another. In fact, most of the villains are well characterized and way more interesting.
Something I really like about the angels, at least the ones we’ve seen (including the cherubs from Helluva Boss), is that they have a nearly impenetrable superiority complex. Adam states that he’s never made a mistake while just admitting to being a complete ass who pesters others for sex on first dates and he also has herpes and lord knows what else. If that wasn’t the result of a series of mistakes, I don’t know what is. Also the Cherubs made a mistake while trying to protect a human and they were cast out with no remorse. This is kind of how I imagine all-powerful, immortal beings of creation would act. Like they’re infinitely better because they’ve been ruling for so long that they are no longer capable of seeing their own faults even when those same faults were passed on to their own creations. Anything outside of that false perfection is seen as defective and lesser and should be cast aside and any infraction is met with insane levels of retribution.

Cause according to the story Charlie tells, Lilith is cast out for denying Adam. They kind of implied she has a hand in Eve taking the apple as well, but the first part is probably enough an then she went with Lucifer when he was cast out.

A Chaos vs Order deal instead of generic evil vs good, it just switched who good side is instead of showing how stupid both sides can be. Because of mainly Adam is the problem, why is he such a terrible person,Power doesn't corrupt fully it merely reveals who the person is and Adam before he even had the knoweldge of cruelty somehow also was cruel? That doesn't make any sense so the story doesn't work, it didn't explain why adam is a terrble guy so intern he feels just like plot device than a character. Its been 2 times a character have been reduced as Filler for a replacement issue for a way more intersting problem. Adam being a good person doing something beliavbly wrong is intersting than him just being a demon for some reason. It adds nuance and guene challenge to charlie who can agree in humane level but you can see why they commit to this idea. Instead we just g😅t a less intersting Blitz.

Starsdamn! Nux is the proper hype man for Adam's musical bang sesh! So freakin' hella awesome!!! Also, 42:25-27 in terms of animation is what made me happy about the future animation. This show has my theorizing buzzing, mainly related to who sings, and the power of music in religions, coupled with the opening about Lilith...long short she is somewhere turning Hell into a musical to increase their power. Notice the Sinners go from knowing Charlie is singing to singing with her to singing on their own, but the hellborn demons notice they are singing and point it out eventually. So yeah I suspect Lilith working with Alastor was up to something, possibly involving that primal evil we briefly saw that reached Earth, to use music to boost Hell.
I was up late last night first watching episode one on TH-cam the an hour later I watch the pilot again, and I watch the full series on prime video all of the episodes 😢Angels episode Broke me 💔 I only got two hours of sleep last night.

I think the reason the comedy flow is different is because there was probably a lot more creative freedom with the Pilot on TH-cam compared to having to work with A24 and Amazon. Viv already confirmed having to make a lot of changes that she herself didn’t decide with the casting changes not being her choice as well so I think that’s a plausible reason but I still enjoyed the series so far. It’s just totally different. Episode 4 is my favorite so far just on a relatable level for me, personally
I’m still torn on how they depicted heaven and angels in this. Helluva Boss hinted at them acting more like mormons and less like, well, the rest of the characters in the show.
That seems like incosistency or just showing he could've cared enough to touch, just now he wants to feel that control. Still i don't like adam as a character he has Stella syndrome of reducing something way too low as a black and white issue from his own self. Instead just being a result of his ignorance. As in he's good person who believes wrong ideals. That can still work with that believe of black and white as he would consider sinners in that realm aswel, just actually has exceptions.

I enjoyed the first episode of this, definitely need to watch the next few. I do understand what you mean by the snappiness of the comedy, it's like half a second less snappy comparatively so it's slightly slower paced, probably a design choice for "tv" essentially. Its hard to say whether the story at the start is in universe propaganda.
But it's also possible Lucifer just had good intentions but just made a stupid mistake kinda like how sinners did. Since this show already takes inspiration from various biblical mythology such as Dante's inferno with the rings aspect. In aspect of Lucifer the more sympathetic light may be reminiscent of paradise lost.
Funny how in paradise lost, Lucifer only needed to apologize to God and ask for forgiveness but his massive ego prevented him from doing so as he proceeds to ruin everything LOL

I especially like Alastor and Vox's rivalry especially when it comes to their ideals of technology and the theme of broadcasting and viewership. Basically a slap fight between a boomer and zoomer but they're good foils to one another.
In fact, most of the villains are well characterized and way more interesting.
Something I really like about the angels, at least the ones we’ve seen (including the cherubs from Helluva Boss), is that they have a nearly impenetrable superiority complex. Adam states that he’s never made a mistake while just admitting to being a complete ass who pesters others for sex on first dates and he also has herpes and lord knows what else. If that wasn’t the result of a series of mistakes, I don’t know what is. Also the Cherubs made a mistake while trying to protect a human and they were cast out with no remorse. This is kind of how I imagine all-powerful, immortal beings of creation would act. Like they’re infinitely better because they’ve been ruling for so long that they are no longer capable of seeing their own faults even when those same faults were passed on to their own creations. Anything outside of that false perfection is seen as defective and lesser and should be cast aside and any infraction is met with insane levels of retribution.

Cause according to the story Charlie tells, Lilith is cast out for denying Adam. They kind of implied she has a hand in Eve taking the apple as well, but the first part is probably enough an then she went with Lucifer when he was cast out.
They depicted Lucifer so harmless and friendly as a king and father so I started to think him as Asgore from undertale

Blake is definitely an amazing singing choice for angel dust, but his speaking just isn’t as good as Micheal’s. Blake tends to make these squeaky noises that strongly reminds me of Betty boop
Ive come to love musicals so much over the years, there's a lot emotion and story that can be crafted into a song- I respect the ability of Viv to do that in both of her shows is my favourite part of her works

Its been 2 times a character have been reduced as Filler for a replacement issue for a way more intersting problem.
Adam being a good person doing something beliavbly wrong is intersting than him just being a demon for some reason.
It adds nuance and guene challenge to charlie who can agree in humane level but you can see why they commit to this idea.

Katie killjoy sounding like Bryce tankthrust is something I didn't know I needed in my life.
This show has my theorizing buzzing, mainly related to who sings, and the power of music in religions, coupled with the opening about Lilith...long short she is somewhere turning Hell into a musical to increase their power. Notice the Sinners go from knowing Charlie is singing to singing with her to singing on their own, but the hellborn demons notice they are singing and point it out eventually. So yeah I suspect Lilith working with Alastor was up to something, possibly involving that primal evil we briefly saw that reached Earth, to use music to boost Hell.

I think the reason the comedy flow is different is because there was probably a lot more creative freedom with the Pilot on TH-cam compared to having to work with A24 and Amazon. Viv already confirmed having to make a lot of changes that she herself didn’t decide with the casting changes not being her choice as well so I think that’s a plausible reason but I still enjoyed the series so far. It’s just totally different. Episode 4 is my favorite so far just on a relatable level for me, personally

I do understand what you mean by the snappiness of the comedy, it's like half a second less snappy comparatively so it's slightly slower paced, probably a design choice for "tv" essentially. From what I saw, one of the biggest complaints about the pilot is that it was too fast paced so thats probably why it feels slow.
If verbelase was here, the whole story would have ended less than 2 hours and about 50k
I binged all of these 4 times now.
