I have super thick hair too and stylists remember me when I walk in, even if they have cut my hair just once. I'm time consuming to them, and they don't like it. I would love to have someone who understands and wouldn't make me feel like I take up too much time.

Same with me. When I get layers is not really the layers I want. I guess it only looks good for those with thinner hair. But a stylist was rushing her work with me and told me "wow...you have so much hair...good God." Needless to say...she did a bad job on my "layers".

I hear that! It makes you feel awful right? Not sure where you are based but I recently saw Anna at Aveda Pasadena. She spent over 90 minutes thinning my hair it was incredible! I'm from the UK and have never had a decent haircut which actually thins my hair properly until I went to her.
I don’t go to any salons anymore because the last time I went (about a decade ago) they literally called me a lion and kept laughing at my hair. It was so humiliating
Thick hair is a blessing and curse . 😁
My hair is way too thick - it's definitely a curse. I can't find a stylist who knows what to do with it and to top it off, it's wavy, frizzy and course. UGH

My bangs are thiccer than other people's entire ponytails lol. Yeah I have trouble finding anything online that relates to my mane. I wish I could find a hairdresser that would do this for me, though.

If this is thick then I don’t know what type of hair I have... I literally have a lions mane even though I have long hair. Usually people think growing out your hair makes it thinner but nope

Nice technique! I have many super-thick haired guests, and my co-workers tend to pooh pooh razor cutting. It is great to see someone else doing it too. And disconnecting! Me too!!! As someone newly licensed and an artist, it can be hard to keep confident.
I never gave thought to over-directing to the front.
That flat iron looks dang nifty!!
Part two :-) :-) , when razor cutting like this on issue I had was cutting out the actual wave or curl.. Will this happen with this razor.

Love seeing your razor cut demos and I’d love that straightener!! I was studying to be a barber but you and your channel inspired me to delve into the world of styling as well. I have since made the program switch at school, learned to love the art of styling, and I’m never looking back. Any upgraded tool at this point will only serve me well in my learning process. Great cut! I'm always so intrigued with the different sections and angles you take the hair in. The beauty school I went to was super old school and very by the book in the way they taught so i felt limited, but thanks to you and the things you share, I've learned to modernize my techniques a bit. Ya’ll thick haired girls are blessed, so don’t complain. My entire head of hair is only half of this girl’s in the video. There are so many hairdos that I can’t even attempt because of my fine/thin hair.
I honestly can't do ANY hairstyles because it's so heavy that it pulls itself down :(

Shay W, if you had thick hair, you would understand. I tried cutting my hair today and it did not come out well. People like us come here to look for help; this video is useless to us now cos what the heck are we gonna do with it when the model has 1/5th of our hair thickness. 🤦🏻♀️

Absolutely gorgeous! Very simple and easy cut, but very effective. It looks so elegant and timeless.
I do hair by appointment only; special occasion hair and makeup, proms, weddings, pageants, etc...and it's been a while since I've updated my inventory of styling tools. Seriously considering that razor, and I've used Biosilk since it came out. It works wonders on wet AND dry hair for razor cuts.

She's lucky her hair texture is fine but mine is super thick coarse and wavy hair and people think I'm wearing a wig. I've never shaved part of my hair, maybe I'll try next time.
