    Yup....I've watched a lot of CWT vlogs now , lost count , but yours will be one of the best. Good coverage , good commentary , good still shots and setting a cracking pace !! I'll follow to the end because every vlogger has some new insight to offer and I'm sure you will give us plenty more to enjoy.

    Another adventure to be sure. The hut! What a find? Good idea to compose/prepare/rest before hitting the big one.🍟🍔🍕Need some of that health food. Shame about the Tea room.

    That section at the start is a peach. Done that in horrific rain and was glad to find that small section of path and out. Also the section along the loch from the bothy seems to go on for ever. Atb

    Nice one Darren. That hut looked the business. Was at Barrisdale last weekend in amazing sun. Sadly the tearoom was still closed for restocking. As you were, gutted on arrival! Gordon

      I think someone local said they are more focused on the accommodation side of the business at the moment.
      Would have been a lovely treat after tackling brutal Knoydart

    It looks epic and intimidating in equal measure. I feel your pain at the tea room not being open, a hot meal a contact with the outside world would have been such a morale booster!

    All so watched a good few CW trails , yours are up there with the best of them …it must be a bummer putting your feet in wet shoes in the morning, I have often wondered how good a pair of the long waterproof socks would be .

    • @darrencurtisuk
      @darrencurtisuk  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was hard the first few mornings. Soon got used to it. Waterproof socks I feared would fail or be too sweaty.
      Thanks for the feedback 🙏

    Great first few days the scenery is just beautiful you will be getting webbed feet at this rate 🤣 be interested to see how the badger balm works as I normally use vasaline a couple of times a day. And at night time put talcum powder in my bed socks the next morning om good to go 👌 look forward to the next installment atb daz

    Hi Darren, I really enjoyed your CWT series, and it was a great help to me when I planned my own CWT, which I completed in April.
    In a few weeks, I am planning to do the WHW southbound and then continue on to the border.
    I am interested in your opinion of the Loch Lomond section, apparently its hard, but then I have heard people describe loch Hourn as harder. I think it's probably subjective, what's your take?
    Thanks
    Chris

      Using Maps.me app most of the time. Would study the map the night before and over breakfast. If weather got bad I had a dedicated GPS device (Garmin Etrex) which I only had to use twice.

    Very enjoyable series, brings back.spme good memories. One question, your calorie count is around 2000 each section. I was doing shorter sections than you and returning numbers between 4000 and 7000. Any idea why.

    • @darrencurtisuk
      @darrencurtisuk  ปีที่แล้ว

      I take calorie count with a pinch of salt, so many variables come into play.
      I suspect my true figure was 4-5000. I didn't track heart rate so my figures were skewed

    • @davidalexander287
      @davidalexander287 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Darren Curtis thanks. Yeah, these devices are that accurate. Usung a Fitbit and on the WHW I did over 300km apparently 🤣. Lost 6kg on the CWT

    Quick question. I use Altra Olympus 4s with sealskinz waterproof socks.... have you tried them and rejected?

    • @darrencurtisuk
      @darrencurtisuk  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Yes I like them but worried about durability. Plus they mess with my shoe sizes. I would have used them in much colder weather though
