Emily you rightly pointed out actual yoga is out of yoga mat( your phrase! )...yoga asana actually do good for our physical level which anybody can get from other form of exercise but "out of mat yoga " gives benefit in our Conscious level or mind level which one may not get easily from others things. out of mat yoga means to me ..grasping the true meaning of yoga ( study and understanding patanjali) and change/adjust life accordingly.
I’m planning to do an online YTT. Because they are much cheaper and I don’t currently have any intention of teaching. However I would like to have the option in the future as I would love to do it.
