      Honestly dating a sri lankan guy is less toxic and better than dating a korean. Even Though she said korea is better i feel like sri lanka is better compared to what she has experienced. At least we could live and walk respectably and peacefully. No one is going to harras us.

      It's true that you've been through a lot but still if we compare srilanka to Korea it's true that srilanka is still a developing country but the life srilankans get to live here while enjoying time with each other, being multicultural, hospitality I think that sort of life is more worthier than being discriminated over skin colour.There is definitely a reason to call our mother land home because that's the only place one will ever feel belonged.

In fact, Koreans are obsessed with their own clean, bright, and clear skin and are not interested in the skin of other races. Please do not generalize that all Koreans are racist based on your own interpretation.

      As an American these things are so weird to hear because someone being "mixed" German and Russian is not really anything that can be detected to us. You would just be known as "white." As far as tribal groups within a regional genotype, essentially all Americans are mixed and you dont really notice a difference until they mix with a different regional type, i.e. African, Asian, etc. And even then while im sure they do face discrimination from some bad people who are holdouts, overall its just becoming less of a thing people care about anymore. Its less about who your parents are and more about your economic, education and mannerism standards and where you fit in.

    If a good looking person like her had to go through such racism.. imagine how an average or below average person will be treated. Their beauty standards are so high that even Koreans who don’t match their standards are treated poorly.
    Hope this changes 😢it’s so unfair and saddening. We Indians love Korea and their culture.. we are madly in love with kpop and kdrama.. in reality this is just heartbreaking..
    I’m from south india (Tamilnadu) living in UK .. there is racism all over the world towards Indians.. but we are very warm and kind.. I really hope our kindness changes their rude attitude and behaviour towards us.

She will face less discrimination there. There are many people of South Asian descent who have prominent positions in society (politicians, leading lawyers, judges, businesspeople) the top sportsperson currently from Singapore is a young lady of Indian descent- Shanti Pereira…There have been several prominent Singaporeans descended from Ceylonese immigrants (both Sinhalese and Tamil)- Two fine examples are S. Rajaratnam & Tharman Shanmugaratnam (both former Deputy Prime Ministers). Tharman is currently running for President of Singapore and is likely to win.

      Look man countries like USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia are literally built to be multicultural and diverse. The same cannot be said for many countries who have their own indigenous people and wants to preserve their cultures and traditions. If you let mass immigration to your South Korea all your Korean identity will be washed away. I mean look at the native red Indians of America, Maoris and Aborigines of NZ and Australia respectively. Do you see any modern American, NZ or Australian practising or following the traditions of the indigenous people of those countries? No right😂. Those people are literally invisible in their own land since they let other people who do not respect their identity and background take over. I mean if you want the same to happen to your country I have nothing to say against it ofc. But I’m just pointing out as to why people of some countries don’t want many foreigners to live in them

    It's sad to see someone saying what she went through like sexual harassment and racism is okay rather than living at her own home bc of a trivial thing like internet facilities. indeed, we don't earn much but at least we're happy in our own homes. I do plan to go to Australia to live but if things get better I won't go and I will come back to SL if it gets better after I leave. We have free health care and a promising education which is also free. Speaking about Korea this video is a very good example of why I never plan to go to Korea bc this is not the life I wanna give to my future child as a Sri Lankan also I am ashamed and feel sorry for her statements about our country bc life isn't all about money and appearance like Koreans think.

    I can not understand the problem with her visa.She was living there for 16 years!!She could get Korean citizenship or like an unlimited residence permit right?can someone enlighten me about this its just so confusing to me

    • @user-cnksi223
      @user-cnksi223 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I heard that obtaining permanent residency in Korea is more difficult than obtaining citizenship.
      Although the difficulty of obtaining citizenship in Korea is much lower than in other East Asian countries, it is still not easy. (But it's relatively easy for Chinese people, so many Koreans are unhappy with this.)
      If she gains Korean citizenship, she will lose her Sri Lankan citizenship, so I guess she will have a hard time deciding.

    • @KippinCollars
      @KippinCollars ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Probably because it's a pain in the ass and was easier just to do the temporary thing. She's at the point where the temporary visa is an even bigger pain in the ass now, so that's why she's pursuing a more settled visa.
