Why not tie the rag onto the sprayer, you can soak the rag whenever needed and not have to carry both items?

Rather than carry your sprayer around just mix your herbicide up in a bucket, carry that around and dip your rag on the pole in it occasionally to reload it.

If you want to have brown spots all over your yard go ahead and spray it.But either way, if you want crabgrass out of your lawn you need to use pre-emergent in the spring time.Crabgrass is very easy to control with pre-emergent.

What a great idea! I may try it with my favorite weed treatment, vinegar with a little dishwashing soap and a trace of salt. I wonder if this rag-on-a-stick would also work with English Ivy, which is notoriously resistant to sprays.

This is genius! No surfactants!! GENIUS! I have developed way to kill crabgrass in St Augustine using surfactants followed by a dry powder. The powder works in St Aug but it kills bermuda and other grasses, so it would be N/A for you. I'm going to see if I can wet the powder and make it into a wipe on. This is very inspiring. Doc. 1st thanks for teaching me North GA lawn care. I'm a former Blue Grass/Fescue fellow so it's a whole new ball game. My dad always taught me to put 2 teaspoon of liquid dish soap in with my 1 gallon sprayer. He says the soap is a surfactant and breaks the surface tension of the water . I'm also reading (from a supplier of commercial surfactant to NOT use dish sope but instead by their product). Any thoughts?

Any natural ways to kill crabgrass? I live in Canada and Canada has completely banned ingredients in herbicides that kill crabgrass. Years ago, I used to use low cost OTC herbicides that remove crabgrass with excellent results. But now all of those ingredients are removed. Many Canadians drove down to America to get their crabgrass killers. But with the pandemic, crossing the border is extremely difficult (with rigorous covid testing and stuff).

We live in San Diego CA and have had our home for over 50 years. This is the wettest spring I remember and our Bermuda lawn is the best it has ever been. My Bermuda is the common type with bits and pieces of hybrid seed added over the years. This is the first year I've noticed an infestation of crabgrass and with the home isolation, I've been pulling crabgrass like crazy. (3 wheelbarrows full!) It is getting ahead of me. Now I'm down to having to pull the newer emerging crabgrass - and there are still lots of older plants that are beginning to go to seed. We cut our grass to 3 inches as when it is short, we are over-run with weeds AND the water bill is astronomical. As per your program on pre-emergent seed preventer, I am ready to start that tomorrow. How do I kill the crabgrass that is already starting to grow all over most of the lawn? (I just watched your video on spot killing it - there is too much of it for me, and it is hiding in the long grass.)

I love you guys, your knowledgeable and informative. I'm unknowing, but why does the homeowner have to spend so much time to keep their grass green? Why is it, the tree leaves remain green all summer long? Why do the flowering bushes remain green and produce flowers all summer long? Why does my grass go into dormancy and turn an ugly brown while the weeds survive and maintain a deep green? Why does the homeowner spend spend an inordinate amount of cash to keep his lawn in the green? 2022 and most of the lawns in my area look awful, little rain and a heatwave. I opted to let my lawn go into dormancy. One would think it's summertime, and grass would remain green. What gives? What makes grass different ? It's summertime, shouldn't it remain green?
