One praise for crabgrass is, it will grow in oil soaking ground and clean the soil. Another is that it will grow in highly compacted soil and the tuber root system breaks up that compaction to let water and microbes into the soil.
That is a new breed of crabgrass that I haven't seen before and it is aggressive, that and the Creeping Charlie will take over your entire lawn if you don't get ahead of it. Thanks so much!
I never found anything anywhere that kills this without killing your lawn. You have to pull it by hand. Pre emerge before sodding or seeding. Once it gets in, you gotta pull it out.
Should have added a surfactant. A small squirt of dish washing detergent like Dawn works good. MSMA at 1/2 oz per gallon works good and you can still buy it if you know where to look.
please mention Quinclorac is not recommended for use on St. Augustine grass, as it can harm or kill this sensitive turf type.For controlling weeds like crabgrass in St. Augustine lawns, alternative herbicides such as Celsius WG are recommended, as they are safe for this type of grass.

u dont need to buy herbicide, mix a bit of salt and some dishsoap with vinegar. and spray the crabgrass. or just pull it out with the roots.
That will also kill the lawn

No irrigation system. Just garden hoses and sprinklers is what I use
