Those carbs came up brilliantly, although this bike looks way too good to just be used as spares. I rebuilt my FZR600 recently. Mechanically now all good (I used a Yamaha BT1100 rear shock as I was doing this on a budget, the BT1100 shock fits and is only very marginally longer with a very marginally stiffer spring - and all the used FZR600 shocks I could find looked like they had spent 20 years in the sea), but the bodywork is tatty. Mine ran badly at first. Spent ages on it. Turned out the carb rebuild kits I used were useless, and better quality rebuild kits and the original idle jets cleaned up fixed that problem.
I have the 89’ version but it has been standing in my garage for around 25 years. I’m going to start it next year and hopefully i can bring back all the memories of my past life
Thank you so much for making this! I’m 21 and just bought a 1993 fzr600, im a 310T tech so I know little to nothing about carborators or bikes in general, this is gonna help me so much!
I need lots of help fixing up my bike it’s the same as this one lots of issues from being left for while and I have little knowledge about bikes and can’t fix it 😢
I think it is 10W40 as standard. I recommend special motorcycle oil, no just car engine oil. If your engine is consuming oil and you don't drive in cold weather you can probably use 20W50.
Man! I used to DREAM of owning this bike when I was younger.

Brings back memories. My first big bike was a new 93. I might have to add one to the collection

I also have a '89 one. I hope to start the restoration next year. I bought this one to serve as donor bike. Have fun restoring yours!
petrol Left turns to Green jel in carbs blocking jets , run engine dry before storage apparently , good video showing fzrs carbs taken apart
Thanks for your comment. I have drained all the fuel from the carbs and lines for winter storage.
@jh-tech5546
You can clean carbs because they're alloy it's the carb gaskets and floats can get eaten away by horrible old fuel , I alway liked fzr

Your video helped me bring my 91 fzr600 back to life thank you so much man im taking it out on its maiden voyage today
Nice! Good job on the carbs...a solid cleaning in the ultrasonic cleaner makes them work like new.
Thanks!
Sounds great!
Makes a lot of noise :)

This was my bike when I was 24..... Now I am 45 and drives BMW GS 1200 GSA
Enjoyable video as always :) question, what did you spray the seals with on 7:30?
That was WD40. Could also use silicone grease. Thanks for the comment.
@@jh-tech5546 you used wd40 just for lube to fit them?
@@Nelis1992 Yes rubber can be a pain especially with 4 carburetors at once
What kind of oil can be poured into this engine

Best would be 20W50 ! Mineral ! oil.
A minha da partida e não pega
