    My friend, i wanted to tell you that you are a inspiration for me as a beginning simracer. A year ago i bought a playseat for my PS with the G29 steering wheel and pedals.
    A few months ago i started to play Iracing and stumbled across one of your video's and i must say since that moment i watch a lot of you video's.
    Yesterday i ordered the JCL V2 sim rig and planning to buy most of the stuff you have.
    Your rig, your passion and the way you talk about your passion makes me happy and i just wanted to let you know that i think you are a great person.
    God bless you!

    Your rig is certainly something to be proud of. The attention to detail is superb and the effort you have put into it's creation is tremendous. I would have to say the realism/immersion factors are off the charts. to call this "a sim rig" is like calling the Mona Lisa "a painting" or the Sistine Chapel "a church". . What you have created is an immersion environment. It is, in a word... Spectacular!

    Someone gives this man a good motion system because he deserve it. This man have the true passion of racing/simracing. He gets more with less. Another’s TH-camrs with less passion and less skills have much more sponsorship. But this man deserve more sponsorship because he inspire lot of people and do More for the community than others. All that effort y put into lighting paid off big fella let me say to you, I can tell that one of the main things that made this setup seem so realistic is how u managed to tie in the lighting aspect with everything else & oh so spectacularly at that, truly astonishing rig, I mean there were multiple occasions, I honestly could not tell the difference between it being a virtual interior view of a lap, I mean really I was taken back at how I jus was like, . . . Damn dude, that shit isn’t real ? . . . Next level attention to detail & passion level shows on this project, it screams passionate effort.

      For the day/night circle this wouldn’t work as I set it manually for each situation and the Philippe hue light will be the ideal choice but for the rest I just try to match from what we see on the camera! The numbers are different as the monitors light is not accurate as the real sun light!

    love your videos - you are very zen. I wonder have you ever trained as a martial artist?? Fascinated by the search for immersion. We have chatted before about VR vs triples. I have decided to go for the Aero. fingers crossed. I am intrigued why you have not included any form of motion. I don't like it when it throws you around but ( when tuned right ) the immersion of traction loss or the thump of a gear shift really adds to that immersion for me.

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thx Marc 😃
      As kid I train wrestling but I broke my legs from other crazy activities and give up😆
      I want to hear from you about the VR bro !
      About the motion, the real reason is I can’t put myself together to save money for that and even if I’m not big fan of motion as you said , if they are set properly is lots of fun ! One day for sure 😁

    • @marcp5099
      @marcp5099 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chepilevski makes sense - I can tell. I did 25 years of Kung fu and there is something about the way you speak.. A bit of a weird coincidence. I had a bad accident just before Christmas , ended up in a trauma unit having my leg rebuilt so can't even climb in my rig now 🤕. Damn I miss it!.... I have a DOF reality rig with a full fanatec set up. Evga 3090. I went from an index ( great ) to vive pro 2 ( ok but room for improvement, sweet spot is tiny and frame rate suffers ) . I have seen so many great things about the fidelity of the Aero and the way it renders things it just seems ideal for racing, together with the potential for foveated rendering in the future i though what the hell & I went for it the other day ... Partly to cheer myself up after the accident. so I am Looking forward to that..
      For me the immersion of Vr is immense. ONLY broken, as you say in the video, by the lack of ability to interact with the cockpit of the car. But i find driving in VR so much more intuitive , with just small inputs from a motion rig to enhance the immersion. I personally turn off sway and tilt completely as they are unrealistic, i just want to feel the gearchange - the surge / brake

    • @Alejandro388
      @Alejandro388 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marcp5099 oops, condolences for your mishap! I mentioned you dont like surge, are you on DOF Reality P6 rig? Im looking for a rig with decent traction-loss as im into rallying and drifting, any recommendations?

    • @marcp5099
      @marcp5099 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Alejandro388 Hi - thanks. No I have a DOF 3. Sorry - I blame the morphine. I don't have surge, Lots have people have written how the sensations are reversed with surge. I like the idea of belt tensioners but they are pretty expensive. - I use pitch to cue acceleration and deceleration and give me the shunt of a gear change. in VR that does the trick for me.
      I keep SWAY off completely as i find it a totally unrealistic sensation that gets in the way of feeling what the car is actually doing. When you build a rally car you actively DONT want it to lean over.. so that sensation to replicate sideways G is just bad to me.
      If i go over a kerb heave will do that job.
      That means the YAW is free of all of the background noise and movement and much more apparent - you sense it with your ass the moment it starts lose grip. This works a treat for me in AMS2 and Dirt Rally 2.
      I used to race a forest spec 205gti 1.9 and i can literally mimic my old car in dirt rally 2. the sensation is so reminiscent of the real thing I make all the same mistakes I used to in reality.
      I think the way to think about The sustained g forces and movements simply can not be replicated -
      and if you try to actually replicate them it goes wrong.
      you can however familiarize your body to recognize much softer /slightly different kinetic inputs very quickly.
      Its a bit like force feedback. Not many people race with their dd1 set to 100% even though that might be the most realistic ... for drift and rally i think the dof 3 is great and relatively speaking cheap

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I want the Hue a lot but I have to rebuild some parts of the setup around and find the way to avoid the reflecting light on the monitors which destroys the immersion! Somehow I will find the way as I believe they are the way to go !

    Could you share quick opinion in the comments on simagic p2000 pedals? You use 100kg or 200kg loadcell? Im currently considering it one of the options for my pedal upgrade, but it lacks good reviews, and in the video you mentioned you use them. Do you find them better than heusinkveld pro? (i believe you used them before, could be wrong though) I think it would help a lot of people. Thanks.

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use the 100kg loadcell but will test at some point the 200!
      I’m keeping back the review as I want to get the maximum of this set and as this is pedals and need some time to get used to it I wanted to build some good experience! I tested for few weeks the hard springs which create short travel and now I move to softer option to see if I will get better control and playing with the new software which really helps me to take the maximum of the pedals!
      I instantly liked them more then my HE pro but I couldn’t say they are big upgrade over ! The quality build is outstanding and the amount of settings is awesome! I think in the next few weeks I will post my video and for now I really like them !

    VR was my red pill unfortunately. At first it simply meant I could no longer enjoy racing on a flat display but over time it has evolved and now I no longer find VR immersive enough. Once I was happy racing on a single monitor, now I seem to focus on everything that is missing from reality and wonder what it would take to make it more realistic. I keep wondering if motion would help.

    How do you set up your brake pedal to be like a GT3 car? A lot of sim guys have this notion that the brake pedal should be like kicking a brick, but I think that's only true in F1 cars. I've been in a few different touring cars and there was a considerable amount of travel in the brake pedal...dunno what GT3 is actually like though.

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tested for 2 months brick like pedals and I couldn’t improve and even get worse!
      I’ve tested ones the Porsche GT3 Cup authentic pressure pedals and they ware really hard but in real car G-forces helps a lot and in sim they are missing! My pedals are still hard but I have some travel which helps in trial braking and for my test that’s the way !

    An incredible setup, no doubt. I'm curious, how far away do you sit from your center display? Thinking about the in-game settings for iRacing. It appears you're pretty far back, curious if that's the case or if the video just makes it seem that way.

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Chris, with the 32 inch I had to put then behind the wheel base to get the proper high of the monitors and the eye distance is 68-70cm

    • @cstewart913
      @cstewart913 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chepilevski and that proper monitor height is your eyes vertically centered? I also have 32s and because of the wheel height, I can't really lower the monitor as much as I think I need to. I sit closer, but I've had to shift the horizon a few degrees to properly account for my eyes being a little lower than center vertically. My OCD won't let me leave it, I feel the need to adjust endlessly.

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cstewart913 yeh man , that’s the exact reason and because of the natural angle of the wheelbase setup it was too high for me and the picture was really bad and I couldn’t get used to it !
