- This is a personal video in my opinion of each and every Mega Man weapon ranked. The games included are Mega Man 1 - 10 and Mega Man and Bass. I didn't rank the default Mega Buster in the video, but I would give it a C+ as a grade for those wondering.
I cannot rank every weapon in order because that would take forever. I will however, rank the weapon sets as a whole at the end of the video.

Top Spin one-hit kills Gamma if you land it just right. But yeah it's broken as hell, you can drain the meter a little or all at once depending on how it's used.
Spark Shock is like a worse version of the Ice Slasher.

This was a cool idea! I think with a voice behind it, and taking a little bit of time to show the weapons would have gone a long way. But I can tell that you put a lot of thought into this, I like the tier list. Here’s the 👍 and comment :).
Also, I love those tracks… I used MM4s and MM5s in montages at the end of the game. They’re so awesome!

I see you are familiar with alot of the weapons and alot of the grades are on spot. I notice how MM2 only had two good weapons, while the other 6 were underpowered or/and ineffective against most enemies.

uhh seven? T bolt should have been rated higher, it does so much damage, slash claw is actually good rated, wild coil, does damage, has cool trick shots you can do, can be charged and bounced and comes out both sides. Seriously the 7 weapons don’t get enough love. Scorch wheel is basically just a faster wild coil with slightly more ammo and is good at killing, junk shield deserves its ranking, super adapter would probably be b+ or A. Freeze cracker don’t do much damage but it can go places. Danger wrap is just god damn hilarious to use and noise crush does a lot of damage, and you can slide into it to instantly get it charged.

Critiques (NOTE: Just because I disagree doesn't mean it's a bad list, op's taste sucks, or anything like that, as we all have our opinions):
MM1: I think these are about right. Most can agree on Thunder Beam and Super Arm's placements. Hyper Bomb has its uses, but still ass. Ice Slasher is sort of how Spark Shock should have been done in MM3 (pause-cancel out of it), but both weapons suffer from not dealing damage against non-bosses (and even some bosses).
MM2: These are also about right. Metal Blade carries MM2, and because of that, I think Air Shooter and Leaf Shield is a bit underrated. If Metal Blade didn't exist, Leaf Shield and Air Shooter would have plenty more use (and perhaps even Bubble Lead in some situations).
MM3: I'm not sure I agree with Search Snake being rated so high while Bubble Lead in MM2 is rated so low. I get that Search Snake is a better Bubble Lead, but -that- much better? Then again, MM3 doesn't have Metal Blade to make so many other weapons obsolete. I agree with your rating on Top Spin, as hard as it is to rate (it's usually very underrated or slightly overrated on many's lists).
MM4: These are about right for the most part. I think Rain Flush and Skull Barrier are a bit overrated (Rain Flush is expensive and is not enough of a "get-off-me" weapon, but it is the first screen-clearing weapon in MM history; Skull Barrier, while it's better than Leaf Shield in that you can move while it's activated, dies if even a wet fart hits it, and cannot be launched in directions like Leaf Shield can).
MM5: These are all about right, except for Charge Kick. I'd probably put Charge Kick at maybe a C (it's cheap, it has I frames unlike Top Spin). Gravity Hold is another screen-nuke, but I wonder why this is ranked lower than Rain Flush? Is it because of the lack of item drops from the killing blow? Or does it actually do less damage overall than Rain Flush?
MM6: This is probably the one I agree with the least (either this or MM10):
- Yamato Spear is underrated: it pierces through stuff--it's basically a prototype Laser Trident.
- Plant Barrier is overrated: it's a VERY expensive version of Skull Barrier (costs 4 units to use unlike Skull Barrier's 2, a wet fart will kill the barrier just like Skull Barrier, can't launch it in any direction).
- Centaur Flash I think is overrated: how is it better than Gravity Hold/not as good as Rain Flush when it costs the same?
The others are about right (Flame Blast is deceptively powerful for its sprite being nothing more than a Heat Man fire column ripoff (that Flame Man himself uses a lot; Knight Crush is powerful at close range and has some diagonal control; Blizzard Attack is somewhat hard to aim, but does decent damage (unlike, say, MM5's Power Stone); Wind Storm is a ground-hugger that works like Bubble Lead and kills like Gravity Hold (enemy shoots up in air with no item drop)); Silver Tomahawk is cheap and does decent damage--a little hard to aim, rating seems to reflect this overall).
MM7: Yep, this is about right except maybe Freeze Cracker...what could it do better for it not to be in the D range?
MM8: I can't think of anything here I disagree with or to comment on in particular. Maybe Water Balloon? It might look like a bunch of wet farts, but as others have mentioned, all the weapons in MM8 do roughly the same amount of damage, which helps Water Balloon the most and hurts Astro Crush a lot.
MM9: These are about right. MM9 has probably the best lineup of weapons (alongside MM4). I think Laser Trident might be a tad bit overrated (slow firing at startup), but it is still a great weapon (piercing, cheap cost).
MM10: I disagree with some of these, but not as much as others have disagreed. I think the developers were trying to go for some kind of gimmick where if you use certain weapons in different ways you get rewarded more, but failed in execution for the most part:
- Commando Bomb: I don't think Commando Bomb should be an F--it has the exact same problems Crash Bomber has: expensive, indirect hits hit like a wet fart, while the splash damage is very powerful. I think it should get the same rating as Crash Bomber unless Commando Bomb has additional flaws that Crash Bomber doesn't (I guess we can argue that Crash Bomb at least sticks to walls and explodes in time while Commando Bomb fires fast and explodes on impact with any non-enemy sprite).
- Wheel Cutter: It's underrated for reasons others have pointed out (scaling walls). I wouldn't give it anything higher than a C+ or B-, as it's hard to use as a pure offensive weapon.
- Rebound Striker: Also underrated (it's another take on Metal Blade with its multidirectional firing--not as powerful or cheap, though).
- Solar Blaze: Also underrated (pierces like Laser Trident, Yamato Spear, Ring Boomerang, etc, but splits off in two directions for a bit more damage depending on how it hits an enemy hurtbox)
The others are just right where you rated them (Triple Blade being a good weapon and an even better weapon when fired point blank; Chill Spike being OK, but punishes direct hits like Commando Bomb; Thunder Wool being complete ass as the reward for the bolt coming out of the cloud doesn't even justify the high cost or the cloud disappearing after hitting a wet fart; Water Shield is a decent shield, but has some steep competition now in Jewel Satellite and Junk Shield).
MM&B: These are about right overall. Like MM8, I can't think of anything that I vehemently disagree with or any weapon worth commenting on.
For gravity hold, I'm pretty sure it only affected flying enemies, making it completely pointless against most enemies in the game.
Out of the first 3 full screen damaging weapons, Centaur Flash is the best in my opinion. Gravity Hold didn't work against a bunch of enemies, and rain flush had a small delay, which could let an enemy drop you in the abyss. Centaur Flash activated instantly and affected most enemies.
This looks like some video someone would make in the year 2009.
Solar Man’s weapon (I’m stupid with names) was actually pretty decent. Low use and generally one shotting. Most of MM10 was accurate but I think it had a better set that MM5

The name of fuse mans weapon is scramble thunder.
Worst thing about grading weapons is comparison of them each other. Making order is better for telling rank than grading but it takes much more time. My favs are flash stopper, triple blade, pile driver and plug ball. My least favs are super arm, hyper bomb, power stone, water balloon and acid barrier.
By the way some weapons have abilities other than damaging like;
exploding walls, shield piercing, stabilizing enemies, wall climbing, jumping higher, fastening the player, shield breaking, activating machines, freezing lava, defeating met while he is closed etc.
I took those factors (shield piercing, rapid fire, directional aim, power, etc) into consideration when grading these weapons. Thanks for watching!

Megaman 10 has the worst weapon selection? Really?
This guy's obviously using weapons' sheer power, not practicality. Most MM10 weapons are not just for killing, but for other secondary uses.
Commando Bomb, for example, can open up areas you can't normally;
Rebound Striker gets stronger with eqch bounce;
Wheel Cutter lets you climb up walls;
Solar Blaze splits into 2 directions and covers a large portion of the screen.
Heck, even Thunder Wool and Chill Spike, for all their discredit, can be used in certain areas.
In my experience Megaman 10 has the worst weapon set by far. Only Triple Blade and Water Shield were weapons I used (Excluding the Megaman killer weapons). Most of the other weapons suck and previous Megaman games had faster more power versions. Ex. Firestorm > Solar Blaze. Metal Blade > Rebound Striker . I never even use Thunder Wool because it’s so weak and slow. My list ranks power and practicality throughout the whole series, not just one game.
Mega Man 4 & 9 are hands down my favorite classic games mostly due to just how amazing the weapon selection is ^_^
Heavily disagree with the MM10 placements, specially when you say Thunder Wool is worse than Spark Shock. I'm fine with the placements from the other games, for the most part. The MMB weapons are much less useful for Bass tho

Top Spin is underrated;
that weapon can one-hit-kill a lot of enemies, like for example literally _all_ of the enemies during the final stretch of Shadow Man's stage, and also the monkeys, the turtles, the Mega Man clone and the junk golems.

@@drevniysamurai I agree with you because pharaoh shot is the 2nd best weapon in the classic series. (And yes, that includes the overpowered metal blade). But Atomic fire on the other hand is a D- because if your using it on quick man than you already lost and because a full charge takes half of the ammo.

The only ones that I have major disagreements with are Noise Crush, Freeze Cracker, Danger Wrap, and Solar Blaze. There are several that I would place slightly higher or lower but not to a significant degree.

Only one I really disagree with is Leaf Shield. Due to it not disappearing when it hits an enemy it can kill, it really trivializes the sections where you have to ride platforms while enemies constantly spawn, and helps in some of the climbing sections in Crashman's stages and you're being attacked by the annoying egg dropping birds.

tfw Metal Blade pretty much carries the entirety of Mega Man 2 with the exception of a few bosses. No need for the other weapons.

What rank would you give the Megaball? 20 uses is not too bad for a special weapon and it does pretty decent damage. In an enclosed area, it's really good and it destroys the minibosses in Clownman and Grenademan. Plus the mobility you can get from a nicely dropped airball can just break levels.
I mean i think it would be good if you just shot it out and it bounced on its own but what ruins it for me is that you have to kick it to make it function at all and it only does 1 damage to bosses, in the beginning of the game where you'd use it more often its just much more impractical compared to the standard buster because you can charge it and you don't need to do anything you just shoot. Other than that i think its best use is double jumping but as a weapon its terrible besides the wily castle boss its required on
@@sadtoaster6341 I thought that too but it actually works pretty nicely until you get the Ice Wave. It's great for those enemies whose head separates when you kill the body and it can hit flying enemies pretty nicely for the first half of the game. It's a weapon that I think is situational for sure but pretty decent on its own

I disagree with the worst. I think MegaMan 5 and Mega Man 4’s were the worst. Those game’s weapons with the exception of a few were way too situational.

Honestly, just take a tier list of weapons from Megaman 8 Bit Deathmatch and it’ll serve pretty well too. Sure, Metal Blades aren’t broken there, but they’re actually useful unlike some weapons (cough cough Bright Stopper cough cough)
Consider the Flash Stopper(MM4 of course) a upgraded version of the Time Shitty Stopper
Flash Stopper is useful. Don't judge weapons based on your experience against the CPU. Against the CPU the weapons are VERY unbalanced, but against players most of them have some kind of use.

I found a use for the charge kick and I consider it would be on my list as B
How on earth is Needle cannon B-? It is just the buster but you can hold it for rapid fire. One of the worst weapon designs

Hi its me again. First of all I can say your list is pretty debatable (As Hornet Chaser is a good weapon.). However I would put Metal Blade a little lower and Quick Boomerang a little higher, only because of Balance. My favorite weapon is Ring Boomerang and least favorite is Spark Shock
Edit: As a joke you should have put 3/4 of the weapons in Rockman 8 as a D+ because they mostly do the same damage
Metal blade will always be at the top. And MM8’s weapons do have their different uses. I’m not Nico Evaluates.

How is Search Snake a B- and Bubble Lead a D when they function similarly
And wind storm got a C-
They all almost function the same but are somehow slightly different. All of them glide forward on floors except:
Bubble Lead will stick to walls when they go down, but not up. You can also have 2 out with a full size hitbox.
Search Snake will stick to walls when they go up, but not down. You can have 3 out but with a smaller hitbox I think.
Wind Storm will never stick to walls. You can only have 2 out at once and it has like half the ammo of the other two.
Wave man's weapon shoots 3 projectiles but it can only be fired on land and disappears if the wall goes downward. Similar ammo to wind storm.

I see my opinion is very different, also, I’m just sad that 2 and 10 are at the bottom. Tbh the weapons in 10 were not very good but they can be used(besides the thunder wool)

I got a few disagrees so far
Bubble Lead and Leaf Shield are garbage, the Former being ineffective against Half the Game, and the ladder being an underwhelming shield.
Top Spin Higher than Gemini Laser surprises me quite a bunch.
Centaur Flash while powerful, is almost forgotten, seing how Wind Man is the Easiest boss of MM6 and there's barely any enemy spam of any sort.
Why bother putting the MM8 Weapons in different spots? Outside of Flash Bomb and Astro Crush, eveyone deals the damn same damage, leaving them as ineffective choices most of the Time.
Mario 666 Bubble Lead and Leaf Shield are bad weapons, but they aren’t the worst. Mega Man 8’s weapons have a place (I heavily disagree with Nico’s evaluation) This list is what the weapons are like across the whole 2D Mega Man spectrum.

Everything deals the same damage for MM8? Did you try the weapons? For the multihit ones, it destroys enemies as bad as the flash bomb, homing sniper takes out everything you find on the screen without needing to do much, Thunder Claw does more damage the farther you hit, and it's spammable. Tornado Hold also is a multihit. Flash Bomb doesn't destroy mega man 8 that much, and astro crush can even help you on the "Jump Jump Slide Slide" sections.
Top Spin is actually a lot more useful than you might think;
it can one-hit-kill lots of enemies, such as for example the skydivers, the jumping frogs, the dragonflies, the walking eyes, the monkeys, the turtles, the junk golems, and even the Mega Man clone.
