An advantage the beast blood has is that it'll make you immune to the vampirism disease while fighting vampires including Lord Harkon, so the Companions and Dawnguard quests can coexist in some form; just be sure to side with the hunters in the latter category of quests.
@@georgemercer402 It does since the mod allows you to become a werewolf, without joining the companions. You can just become one after sleeping in the wild, with either campfire or simple actions.
Probably my favourite quests ever... Loved the lore and loved the storytelling... it was a bit short and finished very fast paced but it was a beautiful experience
I remember doing the final quest for this guild and I wasn't exactly prepared in any of the skill trees and so I decided to transform into a werewolf to help and that was a mistake because the companions started attacking me. Even the ones that were werewolves.
The companions questline is just simple and doesn't really offer much. It gives you access to something that can be massively broken and exploited with Werewolf transformations. Beyond that, any time I've tried to start the companions quest, it bugged out and I couldn't proceed at some point. Couldn't do the initiation fight, or got locked in the trap after learning the secret of the Companions, or NPCs just not going where they should and softlocking things. If you're like me though and gold is what you're after, Thieves guild is the best guild ever. The Powers and gear you get are some of the best in the game.
You are better off transforming after the silverhand battles and eating their corpses so you can get the werewolf perks. I like it because you can run as fast as a galloping horse. Later on with those perks you can eat nearly everything and recover health.
I might be the odd one out, but I enjoyed the Companions quest line a lot when I played it the first time. It's far from the worst one IMO, a lot better than the college of Winterhold. That just felt so weird, like you are a student, you go to one class and then you don't feel like a student anymore. Would have been cool if there were a lot of lessons and more rewarding.
The main reason I do this quest line is being able to take the curse off of Kodlak and the brothers. Sovengard awaits.

doesn't the growl mod make that part of the companions obsolete?
@davidwarlock2376 I don't know if that's true since I don't use mods; I play on the Nintendo Switch

You also get followers in multiple areas you can have you follow after and use to level up skills and take back gold

One time a dragon glitched and I got my two handed skill to 100… 😂 Took only like 2 hrs 🎉🎉🎉
I dislike this guild because the quest to get cured was bugged for me so I started a new character.
🐒💨😔
