    I sold a 120hp full-faired bike and bought one of these, and I've loved it ever since. It makes me a better rider but it's also a very comfortable and fun bike. Love it so much.

      I agree. It is more appropriate to call it a “beginner friendly” bike rather than a beginners bike. 50 horsepower can get you into some serious trouble if you are inexperienced

    I've been on an 1199 Panigale for the last 5 years and have just bought a 2022 CB500F and I don't see myself getting back on the Ducati any time soon. The Honda is just so much more usable. Its as fun to ride hard as it is to hyper mile it. I have put 200+ miles on it in the last few days and would recommend it to any rider, experienced or beginner.

      How are the vibrations between the two? Any particular rpm where each engine generates more vibrations?

    • @RyanEverson16r
      @RyanEverson16r ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@sterlingroberts6240 I'd say they both get smoother around 5k rpm. The 1199 is very lopey and angry below 3k anyhow, whereas the cb500f is still useable in the low end, will pull from 2k just fine, just not quickly. I have bar end mirrors on the CB, which meant removing the rubberized bar end weights that were installed from the factory, which did noticeably increase the vibration through the bars. That said I did just over 900 miles in 3 days on the cb recently and couldn't have been more comfortable, could have done another 900 the next 3 days easily.

    • @sterlingroberts6240
      @sterlingroberts6240 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RyanEverson16r other than being lopey and angry at low rpm, the 1199 was much smoother in engine vibration? Did vibes ever pick up towards redline?

    • @RyanEverson16r
      @RyanEverson16r ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sterlingroberts6240 I don't know that the 1199 is smoother, per se. I think I would say they are about equal in "vibes per cubic centimeter" really. The Ducati probably has more, ultimately, but it's also nearly 3x the displacement and 4x the horsepower. The Honda runs smooth enough at high rpm that without the aftermarket exhaust with the db killer out it was easy to lose track of revs after about 8k rpm in higher gears because it's smooth and quiet until the limiter. The 1199 get smoother from about 5k to about 9k and then it gets a bit violent again until the limiter at 10.5k

    Best bike ever. I just started riding since February of this year and while I was searching for my first bike I was really set on getting a Ninja 300 or an R3 due to my budget and lack of experience (Never ridden, even a dirt bike or a quad) somehow I got lucky, and got a 2013 CBR500r for a steal. So far it's been amazing... I do my own wrenching and its your typical Honda. Easy to work on, and great reliability. I have no problem accelerating past most cars and it's a blast to ride. Will I eventually upgrade? I will but the CBR500r will always be in my garage because the MPG is AMAZING especially in today's Biden Era and I know the CBR500r is the perfect commuter. It's sad how certain people will look down on this bike for its lack of power when riding is more than going in a straight line. The CBR500r definitely has a place in my garage.

    Going at that speed in built up areas is just irresponsible and stupid.
    Not to mention that your field of view at that speed going through the twisties will not give you sufficient time to react and save yourself if something unexpectedly crosses your path.
    You will most likely hit the brakes in panic, target-fixate on the animal or whatever jumps in front of you and head right into it.
