Kate, thank you for the excellent CBR500R review. Based on your thoughts I've purchased a new 500R to return to riding after a 13 year break. My last bike was a 2007 CBR1000RR which was great but a little uncomfortable for someone approaching 50. The 500R is everything you said it was, it's so much fun, comfortable and sensible to own and ride. I love it, dare I say, more than the blade.
That is so wonderful to hear! I feel quite responsible a lot of the times when people buy bikes based of my reviews but I'm so thrilled to hear you agree with my thoughts!! I hope you get many fun miles out of it! 😁
My wife's had her cbr500r since 2016 and loves it, I usually ride it a couple times each year and really enjoy it too. This year I committed to drop down in size & power to a cb500x and what a cracking fun bike.
Hi, I stayed in Gairloch hotel about 8 years ago and visited the Castle. the roads are great for biking, But I did not have a bike back then. It looks like you had great fun, Keep more video's coming.
Great job again Kate. Was there 28 years ago with my wife. Awesome as you saw. No bike though because I also had her mom and her great mom with us. I think that makes me a saint !! (or something else) You do what you have to do.
A family sized cookie will slow the bike down ... and then lunch? Great series Kate and that your open to change you expectations which is much appreciated. Take care and hope you had a much less rainy weekend.
I think the ( red ) NC500 suits you and it definitely looks Great !..Kate ! I hope you keep it !..Thanks for the scenic tour of Scotland and Love from Australia 🇦🇺🏍🌹
My Friends wife was looking at these, she’s currently riding his 250’s and 400’s but they only really make sense when you are pushing hard and she’s a competent but steady rider. The CBR500 looks a really good tool.
We were at Loch Ness in July and took a boat trip along to Urquhart Castle. Apparently the tour was offering £1 million pounds for a genuine photo of Nessie. Loch Ness is approximately 27 miles long and 1.7 miles wide averaging 1.5 miles wide.
Weve had the worst two months of summer weather i can recall during my whole lifetime. Utterly miserable. Head North most years but i havent even given it a moments consideration this year.
Great review kate 😀,I love all the road's you went on,my favourite been the A87 Kyle of lochalsh! Good job I didn't meet you in a honda dealership or I'd of signed on the dotted line with your enthusiasm of the bike. I think the screen on yours was an extra,as looking at new ones they seem to have a clear smaller one. Perhaps you should go and get a new one, trading your GS in nice cash back deal 😁.x
Hi kate, I'm new to your channel, enjoyed this video, I was in Scotland in June and been coming up most years for 34 years, the scenery is stunning and i seem to get lovely weather most of the time. Look forward to more of your video's, Best wishes Roy.
CBR500R is a cracking wee bike, I have one of these at my house in Northeast Thailand. Have the CBR650R there too, which in comparison is a bit more extreme
I am actually not very surprised you liked it. Never underestimate a sports layout if the ergonomic triangle between seat, handlebars and footpegs fit to your build. 50 hp are enough in the real world anyway. It’s however about 25 kg too heavy.
I seen this bike in the Honda showroom & was so impressed with it ,it looked absolutely mint,& very reasonably priced too, lovely little bike, great vlog again ,I love it when you sat it only 785 mm & any shorty can get on it , it depends on how long your leg are 😳 👏👏👍🏴
looks lush up there, got mates in scoctland I have not seen for ages! I need to get up there! did'nt really gell with the cbx I felt to squashed ,prefer to be a bit more streched out, have'nt tryed the other two but I think I would like the cbr with17 front and lower center of gravity, great bikes for learners tho and the vertically challenged
Great video series! Was hoping to get a bit more detail on what the differences are on the road between the bikes. Daughter has a CBR500R and loves it, but thinking of moving to the X later on, so we have been paying close attention to the series.
Hey Darryl! Yes, I wanted to focus on the trip and the places with a bit of bike information thrown in because I know I can do dedicated videos on the bikes in much more detail at a future date. It's always sods law that if I made it a review series, people would be saying they wanted to see more of the places we visited so that was my logic - I can get the bikes again but I cant ride them all around Scotland again so easily :) To answer your question, honestly, the engines are the same but the big difference is in the height. It's quite a jump to go from 789mm seat height to 830mm. The riding position is more sit up and beg too. I guess it just depends on your preference as to what genre of bike you like but I'd imagine the CB500X would be better if you dream of longer trips, especially as it would be more practical to put luggage on the X :) Hopefully this helps :)
Scotland always seems to give more and more, and i don't mean the food! Lol. Thank Donald duck that you didn't mention the totally fictitious thing in loch ness😉. Great scenery and, the bikes looked like great fun.
UNK That beautiful Crumbly pastry looks amazingly delicious! What did you call it? I WANT ONE!!! Looks perfect to go with morning coffee. Sorry! Off track. The Honda 500 series bikes look like a great series of rides for folks of all interests. Great video UNK! 👍👍 I love your channel. Now back to that pastry..... Ride SAFE and BE safe Lady! 🌹
Hei i liked your enjoyment on HONDA CBR 500 R and beautiful Rainy day Travel and enjoyment in Hot spot with your fellow Motorcycles Tourists.I enjoyed your enjoyment video🎉
Next time all test riding from any brand in Spain Kate. Promise? Every time I watch one of your vids I catch a pneumonia cause of the dreadful weather 🤣 thanks for the sharp review, enjoyed it👍👍🇳🇱
Hey Kate how are you doing today looking forward to seeing this later Nothing beats seeing my favourite Bolton biker chick on a sportsbike wearing your biker gear and wearing your famous swanky helmet and dark visor ride safe lovely only one username Kate..❤
So glad you reviewed the cbr500r as ive been looking at that for my next bike! I hate to say Rubys riding was annoying me, she seemed way too aggressive behind the tour guide...
Not inside of the castle, no. Probably because if what's inside is available on TH-cam, they'd perhaps lose revenue as people won't need to pay admission if they can just watch it on TH-cam 😊
I hate voice overs. Glad you finally stopped doing that. 🙄 I hate bike reviews too. I thought this was an adventure bike channel. duh. Unsubscribed. Sorry. 😞
Amazing footage thanks so much for sharing. I’ve owned a Honda CBR500R and loved it. So smooth. Glad you enjoyed the little pumpkin as well :)
Great mini series 👍👍👍. Some questionable lines by the rider in front of you from Eilean Donan Castle, 😳 the guide was spot on with his lines though

Great review & What beautiful countryside. The Castle on that small island was just to die for !
Great little mini series, I really enjoyed it. Keep on living the dream 😎
The A832 was brilliant even on a bicycle loaded with camping equipment. I would love to return there on my Moto Guzzi T3.
Hi, I stayed in Gairloch hotel about 8 years ago and visited the Castle. the roads are great for biking, But I did not have a bike back then. It looks like you had great fun, Keep more video's coming.
That was a great watch.I rode motorcycles in the 1980s and this has made me think of returning to 2 wheels.
Gorgeous roads with a soothing commentary, felt like I was there! ☺

Weve had the worst two months of summer weather i can recall during my whole lifetime. Utterly miserable.

Haste ye back Kate, drag Mike along if you have too 😉😂
Come to think of it. Since you are light yourself the total weight including rider might actually be spot on!
I’m actually heading to Scotland for a week doing the nq,Nc500 on the 25th of September from Dublin so hopefully the weather will be kind to us 👍

Manuela's Wee Bakery 😊
@@UsernameKate Wee? Urine denial.
Interesting, informative, and entertaining series.
Personally. I think an A2 is as much power as t you will ever need. Unless you are a speed junkie.
Beautiful ride miserable conditions.

Was that Ruby in front of you when you left the castle ? She just wanted to go for it.
The A87 is my favourite road in Scotland.
So bizarre you are in Gairloch. I was there for the first time a month ago!
