    you right hopefully a note 5 rom will come along and bring the new features of the note 5. on top of that it will have a SD card and replaceable battery, two things I wanted on the note 5.

      very true,removable and high capacity battery, expandable memory up to 128 Gb, .... only with note 4, note 5 didn't upgrade screen size and resolution. all the added features of software now available in note 4 as well with new android updates including off screen writing and samsung pay

    I have had a note 4 since day 1 launch previously I had a s4 and before that iPhone 4 and i can say without any doubt that the note 4 is the best phone I have owned I think I was lucky because I've never had any issues with gps, I have had to replace the battery as the original was worn out but it wasn't expensive and battery's don't last forever. must say I love the s pen using it makes life so much easier especially for selecting text plus it gives u many options that you couldn't get without using the pen I have read some people saying that it's just a gimmick it's really not if you know how to use it and have a use for it you will be using it most days, multi tasking is brilliant on this phone so good in fact that Google is now copying that feature on upcoming android updates. Screen is fantastic and still there's nothing significantly better in terms of clarity and quality some people say the colours are too vivid I guess its personal preference overall the screen is stunning and movies look great on here. ir blaster some might consider it a gimmick but I use it everyday mostly because I can never find my damn remotes but I always know where my phone is. using the note 4 one handed can be a little cumbersome due to its size and a cover or case can make it feel bulkier but I was amazed just how thin the phone is and without a case feels much more comfortable in hand but this will depend on the size of your hands obviously. I'm also very happy how the phone has aged it still looks brand new no signs of plastic chipping off like you might expect I think the metal bezel helps a lot with this. I was planning to stay with the note line in future upgrades but since samsung has done away with so many features like removable battery sd card and ir blaster I'm wondering what the next phone will be I really like the note 4 but the note 5 I wasn't impressed at all samsung seem to be going more generic with the note in the future and trying to be like apple, which they will never be because they are samsung not apple, I'm not saying apple is a good company I'm just saying that if your going to copy apple you have to be better than them at what they do or you will just be compared to them in an unfavourable way. hopefully there will be a better phone in a years time when I'm thinking about an upgrade but I haven't seen one that beats the note 4 yet....only time will tell

    Nearly a year from this and I have had the Note 4 from new and still absolutely love it. I just thought it worth mentioning that the fears everyone talked about when it came out - (such as dirt in the supposed gap around the screen and the metal edge quickly getting trashed) have proved groundless, mine still looks fantastic and I put it in my pocket all the time, often with my keys and just the Samsung flip case to protect it.
    I dread the day I have to replace it as I love the s-pen and use it a lot for note taking but hate what Samsung has done with now with the Note - Anyone got any recommendations?

    i have been using my note 4 for about 5 months. bought in june 2015. quite a nice phone to use, the camera is good. expandable storage is useful as i take lots of pictures when i travel. the battery is only average. i roughly get around 10 hours of up time till needing to go for the socket.

    I was considering getting a note 4 , but I guess note 5 will do for me because I really and throughly enjoy the new conservative approach on touch wiz and when I tested the s6 at a local store and I was throughly impressed compared the note 4 when I tested it , there was the same UI stutter that I found on my current note 4 , I'll wait and see on the note 5 reviews and see how good off a phone it is 😁

      And there are a lot of new software things Samsung bring out in the Samsung Galaxy S6 that doesnt have in mind to bring to the Note 4 even in the last software upgrade, Why is that...???

    • @youngbrucetv4064
      @youngbrucetv4064 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Gabriel Veranes Well there's an easy answer, every year their will be a better device than the previous year. They hype the device up until launch and they promote it for a few months after but eventually it dies down and the new device releases and the cycle continues. It's actually really depressing our device will only be the best for about a year. I just got a 700$ Galaxy s6 and it hurts that next year the Galaxy s7 will have better features.

    Did you expose your Note to a strong magnet? Those could mess up the compass as noticed in the video. The compass was off significantly from the Moto. Could have also affected the GPS.

    Tim, I've been watching your channel for several years now, since the Sprint S2. I'm a fan but I have a couple of constructive critiques. This video, in particular, was great - very informative. I do, however, miss your rom reviews. I really think that was your strength. I really want to test roms on the Note 4 but without seeing one of your reviews and how to videos, I'm unwilling to try. Also, please find some new intro/outro music. I cringe every time I hear it. Thanks for all you do!

    Honestly the last proper good phone Samsung ever made. But you have to give it to the Note 5 in terms of looks, because this had such a cumbersome look to it. But I think I'd take this over the N5 if I was buying. Just wish the Note 5 was what it should have been. 20MP camera, SD card, IR port, why not? In terms of the revisited, you did it properly! Keep them coming! G3 or M8 next time?

    You made two out of three very good points why the Note 5 is not a worthy upgrade: No removable battery, memory expansion AND the missing IR blaster. I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I absolutely don't understand why TouchWhiz is hated so much. I'll gladly wait an extra 3 seconds (horrors!) for something to happen in exchange for all the extra features provided over a "vanilla" Android system. I am extremely happy with the photo gallery, and also accept any "lag" in accessing it. My Note 4 came with 5.1.1thruough T-Mobile and works flawlessly. I'm anticipating the extra features 6.0 will bring, making it almost identical to the Note 5, giving me the best of both worlds.

After i got the 5.1.1 update for my Sprint Note it's not working well at all sometimes i barely can turn on the screen, or while i type a message it's closing it and than i need to unlock the homescreen and many other issues too. Do you have an idea how can i fix it and to get 4G LTE on it too? I live and use it in Europe it's not unlocked and i have all these kind of issues with it coz of the Sprint Security built-in program. How could i get rid of that Program? Thanks in forward my friend

    Hey Tim I know you root your phones because I learned everything I know about rooting from you. My question is do you still run custom Roms and if so will you start doing more videos about it. Maybe rom reviews as I truly respect your opinion when it comes to anything to do with android. I've went to the iPhone 6 plus because the T-Mobile note 4 just wouldn't update to android 5.1. I'm going to get the note 5 as I've owned all of them. Yes your right the speeds of the note 4 were disappointing. Tried my hand at jailbreaking and its way better when it comes to customizing but I miss my android phone.

    My Note 4 has been a great upgrade from the Galaxy S4. One issue I've had is that it will not run Netflix! For some odd reason the Netflix app never finds the "server" The red circle just spins forever. The phone has no issues with anything else using WiFi -- only Netflix.
    Also there is apparently no way to change the apps./icons at the bottom of the home screen.
    The camera focuses quickly but still takes 4 seconds to LOAD, so that's irritating, but also was on the S4. Looking at the last picture is easy, but finding the next to last picture is a chore. All file management apps seem to despise the concept of DATE, so files are presented in some random order and your last picture may be near the top, near the bottom or somewhere closer to the middle -- so limit the number of pictures you leave on the phone I guess.

      If you still have the Note 4 I would recommend you try a different launcher - I use Action Launcher 3 and it is super smooth. You don't have to use all the slide out panels (although I do) but you can change the Icons at the bottom to whatever you want and you can have 4, 5 or 6 icons. Also the folders are much better. p.s. Netflix works fine on mine so perhaps try uninstalling and reinstalling? Hope this might be some help.

    For me since I use my note 4 for exporting large files and for productivity the Note 5 wouldn't really be an upgrade for me because they took out the removable battery and the SD card slot. It sucks how it got grouped in with the phone standards of today where design means sacrifice to functionality (Except the G4) . The Note 5 isn't really an upgrade because i'm losing more than I gain, plus my Note 4 is still a monster to me! (:

    Samsung makes beast phones, then abandons them immediately after release. I'm gonna stick with KitKat for my Note Edge till something better comes around. These andorid updates do not address TW. Samsung has to have the worst long term support I have ever seen

      +Soccercrazyigboman that is why i am dropping this company forever. they have a hit and run business model. i am pissed that i have been forgotten about not even a year after the device was released.

      +Vitaly Ketslakh And then you look at the competition and nothing is like the Note series. Its soo sad. I need a Note like phone in my life. Too bad Samsung are the only ones ballsy enough to do it. Its just too bad they don't bring TW updates to their later phones. Srsly the Note Edge was the most innovative phone to date and they abandoned it immediately after release and left it to Google to update

      after spending 11 months with the android community i would wholeheartedly say that there are plenty of great android offerings. samsung is just not one of them. i cannot recommend anyone a samsung. i would, without skipping a beat, recommend an iPhone to anyone. support is unmatched in every way.

      +Vitaly Ketslakh I just can't handle their business practices. And I need a pen on my phone to take notes. No other Android phone or iPhone can do that. None. I have ADD. Being able to keep all my stuff in one place is vital to my survival in modern society

    i traded my nexus 6 for a note 4 a week ago. the note 4 was very laggy, even after a factory reset, it was bad. i got the 5.1.1 update, it was still bad, did another factory reset after the update, much better so far, i still have apps to download so we'll see. i miss my nexus 6 for sure, it was so smooth (rooted)

    I love the info here. Since Samsung has really annoyed me with recent releases of the galaxy S series since I got my galaxy s4 on release day I've been looking at the note. The galaxy s5..really?...it was the same phone. Galaxy s6? A whole lot of nope with glass back, non removable battery or any expandable memory. So I got a couple notifications from att yesterday and decided to look at what they had to offer for upgrade. Low and behold, a galaxy note 4 for free. Much better than my s4 and should be here tomorrow.

    I've had my Note 4 for about a year and it is a bitter disappointment to me. I too have the terrible GPS service, to the point that most of the time, my phone has no clue what street I am on. The battery life is awful now, I'm surprised that after developing phones for so long and moving to a complete internal battery function that these batteries go bad so quickly. I find my phone getting to 40% and then after a few minutes being completely dead now. The lag between opening apps, particularly the gallery as you mentioned, (which I fixed by moving my photos to my microSD card) really makes this phone feel like it is on its last leg.
    I thought that maybe my phone was failing due to the fact that I have deployed to hot locations, but now I'm seeing that Samsung is just not putting the passion behind their products anymore. It's not just 1 or 2 new phones a year. But now it is 4 or... possibly more that I may not know about. I wish they would slow down and make a product that would last.

    Coming from iPhone 4 I need a new Smartphone, thought I will buy the newest Note phone, but it won't come out in europe afaik, now I'm not sure if I should wait or get the Note 4, I need a Phone that lasts at least 2 years, my iPhone 4 is 5 years old and still works, just the new iOS versions making it lag
    I'm also worried about Android, everywhere I see people are talking about some stuff like rom and launchers and some other stuff that I don't really understand
    I just want something like my iPhone where I just turn it on and do whatever I want without having to change stuff
    I mean my brother has a LG G2 and he also didn't had to do that stuff he simply bought it and uses it without all that launcher stuff
    maybe I should stuck to iPhone again, altough I don't like the "design" of the newer ones

    • @Teh1AnnOwnLeeByukk
      @Teh1AnnOwnLeeByukk 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Niko I didn't like the look of the iPhones either but when I held it in my hand, the functionality outweighed the design. A launcher simply lets you change the look of your phone whereas without it, you would be stuck with what the company lets you play with. If you've been on iOS for 5 (Or maybe even more) years, you must have a lot of apps that you normally use and might have bought. If you switch to Android you might have to rebuy them. My suggestion is to see if you can play with your brother's LG G2 for a couple of minutes and decide which OS you like better. If not, test some phones out at Best Buy or some tech shop if you can.

    As a Note 3 user, is it worth upgrading to the Note 4 or waiting for the Note 5 release?

    • @Naoufalitos24
      @Naoufalitos24 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Renais Nisbett I have a Note 3 and my friend has a Note 4. There is a massive upgrade in terms of the camera. The metal is way better than the cheap looking plastic. However, if you're not into photography and you use your phone for everyday tasks, you don't need to upgrade. I am, personally, waiting for the Note 5 or S6 Edge Plus. Cheers!

      Well with what people have seen of the note 5 things you'll be used to on the note 3 will be gone on the note 5. Honestly the note 4 is still good with the specs it has. So note 4 is a pretty good choice
