I gotta say, Michael Fisher, you are a fabulous reviewer. The snarky comments combined with the near under-the-breath delivery and a full-circle cap on the whole review made this a pleasure to watch.
Pocketnow I have to agree! You cracked me up and kept me engaged. I've watched 3 reviews on this phone so far and yours is my favorite. Keep up the good work!
+Pocketnow Yeah, this review just helped sell me on the Note 4. Switching over from Apple, and the Note 5 is a no-no without the option to swap memory or battery. Is it an older model, yes, but that's fine. Note 4 FTW
This is actually a great phone, I'm still using it today and it is performing very well for a mid range phone this year 2019 and looking forward for the year 2020
Darn this video 4 years later makes me long the best days of smartphones, the note 4 was the best note ever and I'm typing on a s10+ right now. And yeah I miss Michael on pocketnow
It's funny that on 2019, and as awesome as the note 9 is, that when people talk about older notes, it's the fit and function of the note4 that people seem to talk about the most. The 4 was just a beast!
Looking for our full take on the Galaxy Note 4? Our written review, containing test notes, more sample shots, and much more detail is hot off the presses: pocketnow.com/2014/10/17/samsung-galaxy-note-4-review
Guys, I live in Canada but don't like to buy the unlocked version of Note 4 (by the way, its snapdragon processor). I am travelling to Dubai for couple of weeks and thinking to buy the International version from there (Exynos processor). Which one is better and does the Exynos work with North America frequencies?
Haha, I just yelled out in excitement as soon as I heard Michaels voice. Been waiting for, in my opinion, the big boys to come out with their reviews and unboxings. So far it's really just been Android Authority.
Im in love with this phone. It's this year's most anticipated Samsung smartphone. I currently own a Note 3 and im extremely excited to upgrade to the Note 4. This is undeniably worth my money.
Wish i felt like this now like i used to about Samsung Notes... Still love them but... Back when they were developing... It was so fun and different and awesome... Currently rocking note 20 Ultra and i like it ... But when i first used it... Funnily enough i was pissed off that the face recognition was so shit... I loved my Note 9 iris scanner for secure pay etc... Worked in every single environment every single time.... And the display finger print scanner is shit as well
Never wanted a note until I got the note 4 I fell in love and been a note user since samsung flexes those muscles with this beast I currently have a note 10+ and I'm so satisfied
Michael Fisher, you seriously make the best reviews! Thank you so much for being unbiased and you have such a certain...charisma (if that's the word to use) that watching your reviews is a real pleasure! Big fan here in Portland, OR! Love my Pocketnow peeps! :)
Once again, excellent review Michael. I received my Note 4 on Monday and so far I'm loving the screen, s pen and new multi tasking abilities. It does seem to be laggier on switching apps on the multi window menu, but i imagine that's because of the perk (which you can't turn off) to hold the multi window key and use it as menu button. I also hate that they took multi widget on lock screen. Overall I can't complain.
StJohn404 In my honest opinion there's no lag in day to day usage. There is somewhat of a stutter on the multi window and gallery. Its the damn weakness of TW. Overall its the smoothest I've ever experienced TW. Much better than the note 3
"a smartphone for people who love smartphones" couldn't agree more, im not glued to my phone texting, making calls or on twiiter or facebook 24/7, but then again i never make it a full day withouut needing to charge my phone, im getting this phone simply because i love the technology.
Michael you are undoubtedly a great reviewer. Right from the way you speak English to the minute things that you highlight in your meticulous reviews deserve a big appreciation! I'm not really after the loads of "small -timers" on the internet who simply open up the gadget boxes and stumble upon everything they explain. I prefer your reviews for being concise yet informative and of course, for your clean and unadulterated English! Look forward to more of it from you, Cheers!
Excellent well rounded review even after more than a year from one of the best tech reviewers online! I decided to get the Note 4 and not the 5. It's much cheaper now but there are are some features that I want like expandable storage and removable battery. Will use this as my tablet hybrid as I've gone off logging proper tablets around and this will allow me to do much more than I can do with a proper tablet. I still use my lovely OnePlus X for day to day telephony.
I m from morocco and i don't know if you even know this country...just wanna say i like Michael ficher's phone reviews. .i'M supposed to get a note 4 sooner..let me see more videos about this beast hopefully in 1440p or even 4k like MKBDH does
I've been waiting for this review!!! Excellent work, Michael! Thank you for mentioning some of the more subtle points that the average user might miss, but those of us who are power-users (laptop replacement with the Note 3 currently) find crucial. Things like the S-Pen and its unmatched performance with Evernote, are why I keep coming back to the Note line. To my mind, it's the best piece of mobile technology available for those of us that "want to carry just one device, instead of a phone and a tablet."
Very polished as usual from Michael and a lot of effort in the visuals. .But I don't understand the lag comment. As long as it's not "not responding" like on my office PC, what's this lag? It's not even noticeable on my wife's year old Note 3. Sounds like losing maybe 0.05sec of one's time is classified as lag nowadays.
fps drop is now considered as lagging, its not that bad, but when it comes at the right place, its still feel bad, especially in hurry when u need to open important apps and have a simple 0.5 sec fps drop and stuttering. its a matter of psychology, i cant handle waiting when im in hurry
this video was absolutely AMAZING!!! out of all the note 4 review videos i have watched, this one beats all of them! thank you very much! you also added a little bit of humor in it as well making the video even better! i really enjoyed that! and i will be getting a note 4 November 1st! i cant wait!
After owning both the Note 2 and the Note 3, I just can't go back to any other smartphone line. The S-pen will keep you hooked on for life. And there is no way I could ever settle for a phone less than 5 inches now.
Just wanna say, this is the BEST video review I ever came across for this phone. You're dead-on accurate about the camera, build quality, and its features. I find the Note 4 significantly more durable compared to the iPhone 6 plus. Since that phone is so thin, I find the roundness of it to be the main reason the screen would be more damaged. The notes Chamfered surroundings to me, feel like a case within itself. I've had 6 accidents and no screen cracks. #teamGalaxyNote
One of the best fone reviews I have seen in months. Liked the editing and the way details were described...the panning of the camera, the macro shots of device and the extensive spen use. Keep it up. Looking forward for more similar reviews.
Does the Note 4 have true optical image stabilization during video capture? Because I know Apple has stated that their 6 plus only employs the OIS during camera mode (the 6 and 6 plus use the same digital stabilization for video).
I got to try a fully working note 4 in an electronics store. The first thing I noticed was how light it was, I'm used to old, heavy smartphones from 2010. The fake leather was fine, but for some reason, at first switching between Home screens were really laggy, but fixed later. I actually got to watch this video on the phone, and wasn't as big as I though
To be honest, this really is the first ever Samsung Galaxy phone that has made me consider getting one. My gripes with Samsung phones has always been build quality and touch wiz. They gave the note 4 a metal band, so even though there's a plastic back, I don't really mind even if I'd love to have a fully metal phone. Touch wiz does look flatter and cleaner, but it still looks quite laggy and overblown with features in my opinion. And as for the s pen, I don't really care about it even though it has a lot of neat features. Overall, I'm excited for future Samsung phones and I hope someday they'll build phones with metal unibodies and either remove touch wiz or make it minimalistic.
Michael Fisher, thank you for yet another fantastic review! Lately Pocketnow disapoints me more often than I like, but I think the reason is that the rest of the team is nowhere near your level of professionalism, verve and likeability. Keep it up, you are awesome!
this was a pretty good review. i watched this a few months ago (around november) on my iphone 4s. I was going to get the latest iphone, but saw this and other reviews. I am glad I picked up the note 4 over the iphone 6 plus! I had to come back and write a comment on this video using my samsung galaxy note 4! How ever, the LTE signal on Verizon went in and out. There are 2x the LTE bands on the Iphone 6 and 6 plus so that could help out if you care about that problem at all. Other wise LTE was good, realiable and fast. And, call quailty was better on my brothers 6 then my note 4, even if were calling the same decides. It is a good tablet replacement and I havent used my laptop as much. However, the software could use some improvments for non tech savy people. My reconmadation is: If your a power user, get this (like Michael said) But, if your not a power user, go get the Iphone 6 or Iphone 6 plus. Thanks Michael Fisher and pocket now!
Hi, I wanna know if there is a way (or application ) to make use to the NOTE4 its "super brightness" it has when completely exposed to the sun. Because sometimes the light sensor doesn’t receive enough light to make start the plus brightness, and this is a problem for me. Thanks!
Pocketnow , is the white model made with a different type of back material (like the note 3)? The white one felt like plastic on the note 3 so when I got one I bought the black that felt almost like leather. Thanks
Pocketnow Michael Fisher. You're the best one on this team. Not bias like the rest. Lol my name is Jaime too and I don't love Iphone like him. Martin always seems to be promoting himself more and the guy with the accent really annoys me. Thanks for being what they aren't. A very good reviewer. I appreciate you my brotha.
I will delete any hateful or unproductive comments so don't bother ^^ There's currently only one thing keeping me from buying the Note 4 - because it _is_ the best phone out there - and that is the one-handed use (my other choice would be to wait for the Galaxy S6). I use my Galaxy S3 quite often one handed and it's really important sometimes. So I'd like to hear from people who own this phone, do you use it one-handed often? If not, is it because it's too big, (meaning you'd like to but can't)? Do the special features (like shrinking the screen or floating menu) improve one-handed use and work reliable? Do you get used to the size (when I got my S3 it was kind of awkward at first, now I think it's the perfect size)?
I actually do use my device one-handed. I myself have the note 3 but it is the same size and I am able to use it one-handed but I also have larger hands. However, the one handed use option works great and you wouldn't even be able to tell that you were using a large screen thanks to being able to move it around and resize it. All in all I think it's a great device for people, like he said, that wants one device rather tablet, computer, etc.
I do believe it or not. It comes in handy with texting and just some of the basic functions like quick memo and screenshotting is easier with the pen. I also like to draw too so I'm constantly using the sketchpad. But it's a nice device and I think it's a good 2 year keeper. By then the note 5 will be out and I can just upgrade to that lol
I use it one handed as well and I think it is manageable. I use the s view cover and while one handed I hold it in between 2 fingers. Extra grip and because it attaches directly to the back of the phone it's very secure. The s pen is brilliant if you take the time to learn how to use it.
Bought mine yesterday because it seems to be still the #1 of all Android phones till the S6 arrives. What brings the question tho for how long will the Note 4 stay in the top league of phones? Is the G4 going to beat it?
I'll say it: Michael Fisher, you got the best damn phone reviews out there. Thank you for plying your trades (acting and tech reviews) so well, sir, and thanks for allowing us to benefit from all your good work.
I have a note 4 and when I get a email or something on instagram how do I make it send me a notification? I don't like how I have to keep checking by sliding my screen down... Please answer!
You're fantastic , Micheal .. I like your videos so much, they are so helpful .. when I can't make my mind what to have, I make my mind to watch your video reviews.. you've convinced me to get note 4 .. but only one question: how does note 4 differ from m8?
His reviews are so detailed and spot on lol. I want to meet you in person lmfao everytime I watch a review from you there's always pictures taken from the places in Boston that are close to me haha
I gotta say, Michael Fisher, you are a fabulous reviewer. The snarky comments combined with the near under-the-breath delivery and a full-circle cap on the whole review made this a pleasure to watch.
***** Really appreciate it, Matthew; thanks! ^M
Pocketnow I have to agree! You cracked me up and kept me engaged. I've watched 3 reviews on this phone so far and yours is my favorite. Keep up the good work!
Pocketnow I agree your probably the best reviewer on the channel.
This guy is my favorite reviewer. Listening to his delivery is a pleasure. His voice is built for radio.
+Pocketnow Yeah, this review just helped sell me on the Note 4. Switching over from Apple, and the Note 5 is a no-no without the option to swap memory or battery. Is it an older model, yes, but that's fine. Note 4 FTW
This is actually a great phone, I'm still using it today and it is performing very well for a mid range phone this year 2019 and looking forward for the year 2020
Hands down the world's best smartphone at this moment in time.
***** way too big
how and it lags .
Cameron Tyre Your mother have lags, not Note 4.
iPhone 6 plus is sorry
299lee seriously hahahaha, if you actually believe that then you are very sorry indeed. Anyway the s6 has taken that crown now, iPhone 6 lol....
Even now with the note 7 i'm still sticking with my note 4
of course.. why would you want an explosive device..?
my note 4 died for good :(
18 months later and I still love my note 4 !
That's awesome I literally have wished to have it for so long and just ordered it am hour ago. I can't wait
It was brand new $309 (I know there are better options but I really like this one)
+Augustine Anyanwu Jr brand new?, where did u buy it
My note 4 died
Darn this video 4 years later makes me long the best days of smartphones, the note 4 was the best note ever and I'm typing on a s10+ right now. And yeah I miss Michael on pocketnow

This was my first Note. In 2015.
I now have the Note 10+.
Couple of years ago, I had the Note 8. That was a nice phone. Orchid Grey.

Ahmad Tafakji it does but the battery is significantly better with the snapdragon in north america. 6 hours of on screen compared to 4 hours
Ahmad Tafakji You won't get LTE either.
im out of the phone game so i forgot what they even have.

@@fletchy88 Samsung Notes is garbage. Samsung Notes is a result of tech bloggers influencing companies and their phones
I swear Michael always does the best damn reviews. Very nice edit!!
Brava! Great review!! Where have you been all of my TH-cam life??
The Note will forever be the King of the Phablet world!
Lmao I see you know nothing about phones, the iphone plus see not the note 4
Jalon Smith can't tell if trolling or just really stupid...
Jalon Smith lmao wtf
***** definitely trolling, I've seen them trolling tons of other threads.
Nexus 6 might take its crown

Truly a noteworthy phone, get it?
Michael's sense of humor makes me wish he could do all the reviews XD

Spark 2 I believe
Does it lag overall?
StJohn404 In my honest opinion there's no lag in day to day usage. There is somewhat of a stutter on the multi window and gallery. Its the damn weakness of TW. Overall its the smoothest I've ever experienced TW. Much better than the note 3
Fantastic, thanks for your response. The lag on gallery is something that I was expecting. Ill be more confident when buying this phone.

The phone I loved the most. Note 4 ❤️
Best Michael Fisher video on this channel. Good Job bro
Thanks for making this video, very clear on detail to what I want to see. You're the best commentator here. Keep up the good work!
Im gonna say you are great reviewer. Most your review more better than the others
5:29 Marques (Brownlee) and MKBHD
This review just screams quality. That's all I have to say, really.
Excellent job Michael, it was worth the wait.
Great review. Really enjoy the Note line. My Note 4 should be in tomorrow. Can't wait!
I've been waiting for this review!!! Excellent work, Michael! Thank you for mentioning some of the more subtle points that the average user might miss, but those of us who are power-users (laptop replacement with the Note 3 currently) find crucial. Exactly
The best reviewer of the internet, no other tech reviewer come close to you on mobile review Michael
Looking back now this phone isn't big anymore
Very polished as usual from Michael and a lot of effort in the visuals. .But I don't understand the lag comment. As long as it's not "not responding" like on my office PC, what's this lag? It's not even noticeable on my wife's year old Note 3. Sounds like losing maybe 0.05sec of one's time is classified as lag nowadays.
Plus 1 to you Sir! I don't understand why people complain about it either.
fps drop is now considered as lagging, its not that bad, but when it comes at the right place, its still feel bad, especially in hurry when u need to open important apps and have a simple 0.5 sec fps drop and stuttering. its a matter of psychology, i cant handle waiting when im in hurry
He's using an ATT model
this video was absolutely AMAZING!!! out of all the note 4 review videos i have watched, this one beats all of them! thank you very much! you also added a little bit of humor in it as well making the video even better! i really enjoyed that! and i will be getting a note 4 November 1st! i cant wait!
great review, just bought the octacore version and it rocks!

Best review of the Note 4 going to pick one up tomorrow, thanks for posting!
Does the Note 4 have true optical image stabilization during video capture? Because I know Apple has stated that their 6 plus only employs the OIS during camera mode (the 6 and 6 plus use the same digital stabilization for video).
Wait you can use the heart rate monitor to take pictures???? Wow I didn't know that. But did you know you could used the volume key in landscape?
Hi. How can u enable that featured on 11:20 time. The sidepanel with the apps. Thanks
press and hold the capacitive back button.
I just got a note 4. I hope I didn't make a bad choice.
how much you boutht it?
The nexus 6 and 9 has been announced I'll be waiting for your review Michael fisher!
I'd like to have one in 2018...the camera may still compete with most phones today..wud u recommend this in 2018?
Excellent review as usual! !
Michael always makes the best reviews. Really nice video
I got to try a fully working note 4 in an electronics store. The first thing I noticed was how light it was, I'm used to old, heavy smartphones from 2010. "Once you get over yourself, you can start taking pictures of the world around you." Haha! That's a good one!
Pre-ordered and will be delivered on Thursday.... Can't wait! Great review....
I hate waiting but you guys make the best reviews
To be honest, this really is the first ever Samsung Galaxy phone that has made me consider getting one. My gripes with Samsung phones has always been build quality and touch wiz. They gave the note 4 a metal band, so even though there's a plastic back, I don't really mind even if I'd love to have a fully metal phone. Overall, I'm excited for future Samsung phones and I hope someday they'll build phones with metal unibodies and either remove touch wiz or make it minimalistic.
Anyway you are probably going to get a case or skin on something and the back won't be seen so much but that metal frame tho
Flaviu Daniel pftt why would you want a case or skin? I have never used either, and never broken a phone or tablet.
Buy the samsung phones for the hardware and then flash a custom rom.
To lose the warranty?
Touch Wiz isn't that bad as long as you don't try to do too much with it at once. Like treat it as if it were stock android and it usually flies.
Michael Fisher, thank you for yet another fantastic review!
Lately Pocketnow disapoints me more often than I like, but I think the reason is that the rest of the team is nowhere near your level of professionalism, verve and likeability.
Keep it up, you are awesome!
I love my Note 4 and is a great upgrade from my Note 3. I am extremely happy. Great review Thanks.
this was a pretty good review.
i watched this a few months ago (around november) on my iphone 4s.
My reconmadation is:
If your a power user, get this (like Michael said)
But, if your not a power user, go get the Iphone 6 or Iphone 6 plus.
Thanks Michael Fisher and pocket now!
Best smart phone reviewer IMO. Good in depth review. If I didn't pick up the iPhone 6 Plus, I would have purchased this one.
Hi, I wanna know if there is a way (or application ) to make use to the NOTE4 its "super brightness" it has when completely exposed to the sun. Because sometimes the light sensor doesn’t receive enough light to make start the plus brightness, and this is a problem for me. Thanks!
Im happy with my Note 3 for another year, but the Note 4 looks to be a beast. Can't wait to see what the Note 5 brings to the table next fall.
This guy is the best reviewer at pocket now, hands down.
Your reviews are so inspiring! great job!
LOVE those arch of your eyebrow! Lol. Nice review, love it!
What is the third phone from the left at 0:07? It looks cool.
Do you get used to a phablet like a Note 4 fast? I'm switching from a iPhone 4 to a Note 4 so the difference between those 2 is pretty big.
Pocketnow , is the white model made with a different type of back material (like the note 3)? The white one felt like plastic on the note 3 so when I got one I bought the black that felt almost like leather. Thanks
GPBadjoras The white one does indeed feel smoother and less tacky than the black, once again. ^M
Black it's basically sprayed on

Yes nexus 6 has been announced. But note 4 remains the best of 2014, as google has totally spoiled it with such a big screen!
I will delete any hateful or unproductive comments so don't bother ^^
There's currently only one thing keeping me from buying the Note 4 - because it _is_ the best phone out there - and that is the one-handed use (my other choice would be to wait for the Galaxy S6). All in all I think it's a great device for people, like he said, that wants one device rather tablet, computer, etc.
anthony reed alright thank you for your advice, Oh and by the way, do you use the S Pen a lot?
I do believe it or not. It comes in handy with texting and just some of the basic functions like quick memo and screenshotting is easier with the pen. I also like to draw too so I'm constantly using the sketchpad. But it's a nice device and I think it's a good 2 year keeper. By then the note 5 will be out and I can just upgrade to that lol
***** I'm using it one handed right now lol
I use it one handed as well and I think it is manageable. I use the s view cover and while one handed I hold it in between 2 fingers. Extra grip and because it attaches directly to the back of the phone it's very secure. The s pen is brilliant if you take the time to learn how to use it.
thanks for show... please i want to know if the processor snapdragon & exynos have 64 bit
Getting mine on saturday, so hyped!
As always.. Great review Mr. Fisher.
Love your reviews, always on point !!
Bought mine yesterday because it seems to be still the #1 of all Android phones till the S6 arrives.
What brings the question tho for how long will the Note 4 stay in the top league of phones? Is the G4 going to beat it?
Do you have to stick with Samsungs UI just to use all the features of the S-Pen?
It's nice looking back at the past Mr. Mobile ;)
Can you guys tell me how is the battery going with you ? how many hours do you get in average or high usage ?
I'll say it: Michael Fisher, you got the best damn phone reviews out there. Thank you for plying your trades (acting and tech reviews) so well, sir, and thanks for allowing us to benefit from all your good work.
Awesome review man! *round of applause* :D

Fisher you truly are the best reviewer on TH-cam, you are so much better than anyone else it is not even funny.
I have a note 4 and when I get a email or something on instagram how do I make it send me a notification? I don't like how I have to keep checking by sliding my screen down... Please answer!
Please do a comparison of the apple iphone 6/6+ with the sony xperia z3 ! I want to know what to think about the z3 Mr.Fisher ;)
You're fantastic , Micheal .. I like your videos so much, they are so helpful .. when I can't make my mind what to have, I make my mind to watch your video reviews.. you've convinced me to get note 4 .. but only one question: how does note 4 differ from m8?
For better and for worse: S pen, back placed speakers, bigger size, higher res camera, touchwiz, split screen multitasking
I wonder if people can listen to Michael Fishers voice for hours at time and not wanna mute him?
His reviews are so detailed and spot on lol. I want to meet you in person lmfao everytime I watch a review from you there's always pictures taken from the places in Boston that are close to me haha
Michael, what's your personal preference? Note 4 or Moto x?
what is the name of the game that plays on the note 4 at 9:40??
soo loved the review Michael!
1 of the best reviewers out there,in my humble opinion
