I think she shoulda been at least nominated instead of Meryl Streep. I'm glad that Emma won but to be honest the academy just tried to balance things out because Moonlight won best picture. Emma is great but I think she's better in The Help.

Arrival should have won not because moonlight wasn’t good it was but because it was a really difficult adaption that managed to keep such a grounded approach to sci fi while expanding the short story it was based on to be more and more touching on screen than it was even on paper with critical decisions that would draw out maximum connection with the audience ie the perspective element and mainly how they restructure the text so their is more of a twist and emotional impact with determinism being changed to free will (you’ll only understand this if you read and watched the film and novel)
When giving a screenwriting Oscar to Moonlight isn't ridiculous enough, so they make the star of the actual best adapted screenplay announce it. Classic.
