Btw Sawyer, did you read the new interview Oda had with Aoyama. There he talked about how the older Oda that was interviewed and the Oda now is completely different. Even though ppl keep saying that Oda said "he will not write romance among the crew" despite him NEVER saying that. This has to be one of the most misquoted statements from Oda. What he actually said was that he will not write romance PERIOD in the series, not just among the crew but romance in genera,l since OP is a shonen manga and young boys don't like romance. But when he said that Oda stated in his recent interview that he has since then matured a lot and he doesn't believe that anymore. Hence why you see a lot of romance being implemented ever since the time skip. Also he stated that the reason why he doesn't write romance is not because he doesn't like it or hates romance but because he feels embarrassed writing those scenes. He's not against it, just super shy about it. There was a lot more discussed in that interview besides just romance and shipping which I highly recommend you read it. He talks about fan theories, gear5 and his abilities being inspired by Tom and Jerry, end of OP and a lot more. This was probably one of Oda's best interview.
Tbf writing good romance is hella tough. Trying his hand at this while handling everything else may be difficult. Though I did like how he handled Pudding, so who knows.
Makes sense, since Reiwa era (current era in Japan) is the era when a lot of romance manga actually focus on after the relationship happened rather than the whole will they wont they. So I take that even Oda finally understood it now.

I do feel it and I don’t like it. We don’t know everything and not everything that we don’t know has to be obviously hinted at. It just has to make sense with the narrative. Like why can’t y’all just enjoy the story if it makes sense. Technically the most direct hint at the devil fruit being more important was when Burgess announced BB wanted it back in Dressrosa. We don’t know how he knows it’s important when so few people knew anything at all. So if so little of the characters knew the fruits true power, how was it expected to be foreshadowed?? Even in wano the only one with the most direct knowledge was a member of kaidos crew stationed in one of the hardest to get to places of the world government. As for the film red stuff I could care less, it’s one small silhouette that took nothing from the story it’s fun extra stuff. Like jeez

I really liked the chapter! Green Bull is a terrifying force; but we are in the endgame. The players who stand by Luffy should also be fierce. We can't keep putting the Admirals and Yonko on an untouchable pedestal, which I see too many people doing. The moment Luffy and Law joined forces, I knew they were stepping up on that pedestal. I'm not one to care for wins and losses in a story, as long as everything is compelling. Momo stepping up as a leader is awesome, and maybe will convince Green Bull that balance is possible. Raizo is fine, since Luffy and the gang are chill. And Shanks' Haki feat here also gives us a glimpse into Luffy's psyche. He's excited to meet Shanks, but like the One Piece, isn't trying to force it to happen. Love seeing more Robin and Law, i think they jive well together, being more on the serious side of the crew. Can't wait for the next chapter!

I believe Shanks will die due to the WG and Blackbeard teaming up to stop him from going for the One Piece. BB will do anything to reach his goal even if it's temporarily teaming up with the WG. In the words of Ragnar Lothbrok, Shanks will be "drinking Ale from curved horns in Valhalla and he will not enter Oden's home with fear"! He's going to give the WG and BB hell before he goes.

A lot of the other reviewers that I see in the OP community always seem to forget that Momo is a kid mentally. Like clearly Momo will not master his DF anytime soon but a lot of people are missing that and assume the wildest theories lol.
It's because Sabo knows Mera Mera soon after he gets it and not long afterwards use it's attacks variations. So it's not a long stretch if a lot of people assume someone will know how to use the DF after eating it.

And Momo is just a child who knows nothing. But the discussion is about why people expect Momo to master / know about his power when he's just a child. People expect it because a DF seems to impart knowledge to it's eater.
Your mentioning of the all blue reminded me of a theory that I read recently about the deep sea currents. The fact that shanks might be using these to get to other parts of the world very quickly like he did in Marineford ETc. To activate Pluton, you need Kozuki Clan blood. Momonosuke and Oden were able to activate it. The WG knew Kaido killed Oden and was satisfied with him if he killed Momo because that would mean no one could access the original Pluton. With Kaido down and Momo alive, they now have reason to fear again.
It would be interesting if the quake fruit and the darkness fruit mimic conquerors haki’s various forms. Thereby blackbeard bypasses the training needed for that type of haki. Which is why blackbeard figured he could fight shanks later when he know how to use the quake powers well.
So Shanks recruited some new people since the last time we saw him. They're seemingly mere deck scrubbers, but this may be important. I only bring this up because they bring his roster to 13. 1. shanks has way more people on his crew, we saw that from chapter one those 9 others are his top dogs but he does have a bunch of smaller time recruits on his crew
I don't think that inherently means anything from a strength perspective but moreso Luffy's personality. This is the same guy who casually walked in between both Kaido and Big Mom just to make sure Kinemon was alright. Luffy's spirit has always radiated no matter what his current power level was

Implying that he would have jumped in had it got too bad for Momo. So again, moment was more of an emphasis of character than power

I’m all for honesty and Sawyer is more than allowed to not like the decisions that Oda makes. But the constant sarcasm makes him come off as “I’m upset because the story isn’t going how I want it to”. Even if he doesn’t feel like this, it does feel like he’s whining more than criticizing
Oda currently has a narrative issue with how poorly the marines plays into the tension of the story in the endgame. Everything is conveniently going so well for the straw hats, while the marines has been on the backfoot going into the final saga. The reverie outcome was pretty disappointing to me, where i hoped it'd deliver some kind of tragedy in the narrative or just some good victories for the marines. It kind of fits into how Oda struggles to kill off characters, especially in Wano (Kin'emon being just a bait) and not being able to make it more diverse tension wise. It feels like Oda is pushing Luffy to the One Piece rather than Luffy actualy having to face emotional adversity. (Yes, i wished Sabo wouldn't have had the outcome he did at the reverie!). Green Bull ended up being more of a character to promote Shanks and Film Red, rather than the intimidating entry like the other admirals has been in the past. I don't feel like hes a character the readers will feel intimidated by at this point. Maybe Oda should've just introduced him later than now?
Literally everyone was hyped when they saw Ryokugyu and thought he was a major threat, until it Oda used him as a hype tool this chapter. And its not a bad thing, since we know Luffy has to fight Shanks at some point, making him be even more hype than an Admiral actually adds tension to a story, not takes away from it. What is up with this really bad habit of readers dismissing any antagonist as not intimidating the moment they arent one shotting everyone left and right?
This feels like you wanting a tragedy for the sake of a tragedy, the Straw Hats have always been on the back foot and the Marines have always been the dominant force but now for the first time they have the advantage and for the first time they can be shown as one of the big league players. The Marines are still a treat since not even the SHs can beat the full force of the Marines and the admirals as well as the SSG being unknown still and including Blackbeard and the WG. The tension is still there, you can't look at one situation and just ignore everything else just cause the Straw hats aren't underdogs anymore. They can't be the underdogs for 26 years.
It's a post victory arc. Green Bull was not going to beat anyone with the 3 Supernova crew still at Wano. Luffy is at the point where he can beat Yonkos who are stronger than Admirals now. Luffy already said it in Dressrosa when he challenged Fujitora. The main villains are going to be Black Beard and Imu, not the admirals. Admirals are going to be side fights for Sanji, Zoro, and probably Sabo. Sabo winning is a good thing for the Revolutionaries and the new Gen. Also, Sabo making himself standout from Ace and Luffy where he actually has a major role to play in the final saga. Also, did you really want Sabo to get captured again?

We've just had a major war with two Yonko but the alliance didn't suffer much repercussions at all. The deaths (can't remember their names of top of my head) felt more like an afterthought. That's the thing, I didn't want the revolutionaries to take the victory in the reverie. I hoped it'd be a situation where Luffy won his battle on Wano, and the marines won theirs to make it more... spicy? What I am trying to imply is that everything is very much smooth sailing towards the end game. There is no emotional adversity or some kind of upper hand for the marines since Oda makes everything rather convenient. That goes back to when Oda didn't kill Kin'emon which absolutely should've been done. He struggles a bit to kill his characters for some reason which is important for tension to the readers. Feels like im ranting now lmao

Sukiyaki said that Kaido was aware of the poneglyph because Jack is a fishman who could explore the underwater ruins. But Jack is a Devil Fruit user, does that mean he able to move freely in water? 2 possibilities I can think of is wano was flooded by rain water and Devil User weak only against sea water like stated. Or Jack found the poneglyph before he consume a devil fruit.
I always assumed that Jack was waiting to be pulled out of the water because it was too far to walk to another island. I always thought Fishman with devil fruits could just walk on the ocean floor and just not users there fruits powers. I know that Luffy in Alabasta was sick in like waste high water but since Jack is a Fishman I just thought he felt fine.

Basically Greenbull was hyped up for years and brought to Wano just to be a hype tool for Shanks lol. New plot hole after this chapter: We now know you must go down the secret path to get to the rode poneglyph in Wano. so why didn't Roger and Oden see the chained-up Kozuki Sukiyaki at the entrance? like they just missed him? Just a bit more details, Go back to chapter 967, Oden and Roger went back to Wano but only for a few hours, for the poneglyph. While being there, Oden sensed something went wrong with Wano already, and you can see the factory emitting polluted gas in the background, but he decided to not look for what was going on, and continued his journey with Roger. We also got a second confirmation in chapter 968 that Orochi took over Wano way before Oden first got back to Wano (it took him 4 years), and we got confirmation in chapter 1053 that Sukiyaki was captured and put in that room right after Orochi took power and he didn't break out until Oden was dead. So we know for sure the Sukiyaki was captured at the entrance when Oden first got back to Wano, while getting the info on the Road Poneglyph, but why didn't he see his dad? the only explanation I can think of is that they didn't go through the secret path but rather straight down the ocean. but this is a little far fetched considering how would they do that without a ship cause only Roger and Oden was on Wano for information on the road poneglyph
I think Oden didn't wanna show his face in Wano,the secret room where Sukiyaki was kept can only be accessed through the Castle if I am not wrong.So,no way Oden was going to the castle and then going down to get the rubbing of the Poneglyph.He probably swam his way to the Poneglyph.
as a former Fisher man I can state for a fact shanks had to be at least 50-60 mills out at sea, wano Kuni is by no means a small Island and my home country of Dominica is approximately (750 km2) and it is about 29 miles (47 km) long and 16 miles (26 km) wide. and at the 50-60 mill mark you can only spot a rough shadow of the island so imagine how far shanks had to be to not have any visage of wano in their line of sight.
Yonko > Admiral is redundant now. But even still, in my psyche since forever Aokiji/Akainu and especially Kizaru are all untouchable. It has nothing to do with Logic at this point, this is something my psychiatrist has to help me with (who is Oda at this point lol) but really it has to do with their portrayal as untouchable since forever. I mean come on, He hears BM and Kaido are together and the first thing Kizaru says "Shall I go?" ready to rumble. That's what I mean by portrayal. Also Shanks' 5G haki talk? I think Luffy did the same thing when he was drowning after losing to Kaido in Onigashima, Law's crew heard him through his Haki. EDIT: Is Uta canon now?
Akainu orders Kizaru to stand down because of the potential power of the samurai though lol. They are powerful but the most they could hope to do is interfere like that one CP0 agent did and affect the fight is a favourable way for the WG. With the power of the top people at Wano, no single admiral could just walk in and handle business. The 5G thing was forshadowed by Luffy but shanks did it on an incomparable level. Miles away, out of sight, clear communication, visible haki streaks and making low level members of his own crew pass out. No one has even come close

Yes, Ch. 1044 was horrific. Ch. 1052 (7 day "timeskip") adds to that, and now Film Red promotion, with an actual worthless new canon character (Uta), who feels completely artifical. I understand his disappointment

I do feel it and I don’t like it. We don’t know everything and not everything that we don’t know has to be obviously hinted at. It just has to make sense with the narrative. Like why can’t y’all just enjoy the story if it makes sense. Technically the most direct hint at the devil fruit being more important was when Burgess announced BB wanted it back in Dressrosa. We don’t know how he knows it’s important when so few people knew anything at all. So if so little of the characters knew the fruits true power, how was it expected to be foreshadowed?? Even in wano the only one with the most direct knowledge was a member of kaidos crew stationed in one of the hardest to get to places of the world government.
As for the film red stuff I could care less, it’s one small silhouette that took nothing from the story it’s fun extra stuff. Like jeez
@@123Leetz I also had expectations and criticism. I am self aware that the issues i have with the arc is based on myself and this has allowed me to continue enjoy the story without any saltiness. If all my expectations as met, then i wouldn’t get surprised and it will be become predictable.

I really liked the chapter! Green Bull is a terrifying force; but we are in the endgame. The players who stand by Luffy should also be fierce. We can't keep putting the Admirals and Yonko on an untouchable pedestal, which I see too many people doing. The moment Luffy and Law joined forces, I knew they were stepping up on that pedestal. I'm not one to care for wins and losses in a story, as long as everything is compelling. Momo stepping up as a leader is awesome, and maybe will convince Green Bull that balance is possible. Raizo is fine, since Luffy and the gang are chill. And Shanks' Haki feat here also gives us a glimpse into Luffy's psyche. He's excited to meet Shanks, but like the One Piece, isn't trying to force it to happen. Love seeing more Robin and Law, i think they jive well together, being more on the serious side of the crew. Can't wait for the next chapter!

I believe Shanks will die due to the WG and Blackbeard teaming up to stop him from going for the One Piece. BB will do anything to reach his goal even if it's temporarily teaming up with the WG. I feel like Shanks' role was to usher in the new era and that's it. He's not meant to find the One Piece and he's too powerful to keep alive in this story. In the words of Ragnar Lothbrok, Shanks will be "drinking Ale from curved horns in Valhalla and he will not enter Oden's home with fear"! He's going to give the WG and BB hell before he goes.

A lot of the other reviewers that I see in the OP community always seem to forget that Momo is a kid mentally. Like clearly Momo will not master his DF anytime soon but a lot of people are missing that and assume the wildest theories lol.
It's because Sabo knows Mera Mera soon after he gets it and not long afterwards use it's attacks variations. So it's not a long stretch if a lot of people assume someone will know how to use the DF after eating it.

To activate Pluton, you need Kozuki Clan blood. Momonosuke and Oden were able to activate it. The WG knew Kaido killed Oden and was satisfied with him if he killed Momo because that would mean no one could access the original Pluton. With Kaido down and Momo alive, they now have reason to fear again.
It would be interesting if the quake fruit and the darkness fruit mimic conquerors haki’s various forms. Thereby blackbeard bypasses the training needed for that type of haki. Which is why blackbeard figured he could fight shanks later when he know how to use the quake powers well.

@@malikmonk5240 First of all, Momo wasn't by himself. Secondly, you're ignoring the context. Luffy was allowing Momo to be a man and stand on his own two feet for the sake of his country. This was a character moment for Momo. Luffy even said while watching from afar that since Greenbull was turning tail (due to Shanks) that he didn't have to help Momo out. Implying that he would have jumped in had it got too bad for Momo. So again, moment was more of an emphasis of character than power

I’m all for honesty and Sawyer is more than allowed to not like the decisions that Oda makes. But the constant sarcasm makes him come off as “I’m upset because the story isn’t going how I want it to”.
Even if he doesn’t feel like this, it does feel like he’s whining more than criticizing
Oda currently has a narrative issue with how poorly the marines plays into the tension of the story in the endgame. Everything is conveniently going so well for the straw hats, while the marines has been on the backfoot going into the final saga. The reverie outcome was pretty disappointing to me, where i hoped it'd deliver some kind of tragedy in the narrative or just some good victories for the marines.
It kind of fits into how Oda struggles to kill off characters, especially in Wano (Kin'emon being just a bait) and not being able to make it more diverse tension wise. It feels like Oda is pushing Luffy to the One Piece rather than Luffy actualy having to face emotional adversity. (Yes, i wished Sabo wouldn't have had the outcome he did at the reverie!).
Green Bull ended up being more of a character to promote Shanks and Film Red, rather than the intimidating entry like the other admirals has been in the past. I don't feel like hes a character the readers will feel intimidated by at this point. Maybe Oda should've just introduced him later than now?
Literally everyone was hyped when they saw Ryokugyu and thought he was a major threat, until it Oda used him as a hype tool this chapter. And its not a bad thing, since we know Luffy has to fight Shanks at some point, making him be even more hype than an Admiral actually adds tension to a story, not takes away from it.
What is up with this really bad habit of readers dismissing any antagonist as not intimidating the moment they arent one shotting everyone left and right?
This feels like you wanting a tragedy for the sake of a tragedy, the Straw Hats have always been on the back foot and the Marines have always been the dominant force but now for the first time they have the advantage and for the first time they can be shown as one of the big league players. The Marines are still a treat since not even the SHs can beat the full force of the Marines and the admirals as well as the SSG being unknown still and including Blackbeard and the WG. The tension is still there, you can't look at one situation and just ignore everything else just cause the Straw hats aren't underdogs anymore. They can't be the underdogs for 26 years.
It's a post victory arc. Green Bull was not going to beat anyone with the 3 Supernova crew still at Wano. Luffy is at the point where he can beat Yonkos who are stronger than Admirals now. Luffy already said it in Dressrosa when he challenged Fujitora. The main villains are going to be Black Beard and Imu, not the admirals. Admirals are going to be side fights for Sanji, Zoro, and probably Sabo.
Sabo winning is a good thing for the Revolutionaries and the new Gen. Also, Sabo making himself standout from Ace and Luffy where he actually has a major role to play in the final saga. Also, did you really want Sabo to get captured again?
@@YightLagami It's not as much about who can beat who, but how the tension is integrated to the story. We've just had a major war with two Yonko but the alliance didn't suffer much repercussions at all. The deaths (can't remember their names of top of my head) felt more like an afterthought.
That's the thing, I didn't want the revolutionaries to take the victory in the reverie. I hoped it'd be a situation where Luffy won his battle on Wano, and the marines won theirs to make it more... spicy? What I am trying to imply is that everything is very much smooth sailing towards the end game. There is no emotional adversity or some kind of upper hand for the marines since Oda makes everything rather convenient. That goes back to when Oda didn't kill Kin'emon which absolutely should've been done. He struggles a bit to kill his characters for some reason which is important for tension to the readers. Feels like im ranting now lmao

Sukiyaki said that Kaido was aware of the poneglyph because Jack is a fishman who could explore the underwater ruins. But Jack is a Devil Fruit user, does that mean he able to move freely in water?
2 possibilities I can think of is wano was flooded by rain water and Devil User weak only against sea water like stated. Or Jack found the poneglyph before he consume a devil fruit.

I always assumed that Jack was waiting to be pulled out of the water because it was too far to walk to another island. I always thought Fishman with devil fruits could just walk on the ocean floor and just not users there fruits powers. I know that Luffy in Alabasta was sick in like waste high water but since Jack is a Fishman I just thought he felt fine.

Basically Greenbull was hyped up for years and brought to Wano just to be a hype tool for Shanks lol. I guess now he can report back that Kaido had a child and that Momo devil fruit wasn’t a failure but CP0 could’ve done that. Great chapter but I’m just disappointed with how Oda handled Greenbull. Didn’t add anything to the arc besides hyping up someone we already know is very powerful.

We now know you must go down the secret path to get to the rode poneglyph in Wano. so why didn't Roger and Oden see the chained-up Kozuki Sukiyaki at the entrance? like they just missed him?
Just a bit more details, Go back to chapter 967, Oden and Roger went back to Wano but only for a few hours, for the poneglyph. While being there, Oden sensed something went wrong with Wano already, and you can see the factory emitting polluted gas in the background, but he decided to not look for what was going on, and continued his journey with Roger. We also got a second confirmation in chapter 968 that Orochi took over Wano way before Oden first got back to Wano (it took him 4 years), and we got confirmation in chapter 1053 that Sukiyaki was captured and put in that room right after Orochi took power and he didn't break out until Oden was dead. So we know for sure the Sukiyaki was captured at the entrance when Oden first got back to Wano, while getting the info on the Road Poneglyph, but why didn't he see his dad?
the only explanation I can think of is that they didn't go through the secret path but rather straight down the ocean. but this is a little far fetched considering how would they do that without a ship cause only Roger and Oden was on Wano for information on the road poneglyph

as a former Fisher man I can state for a fact shanks had to be at least 50-60 mills out at sea, wano Kuni is by no means a small Island and my home country of Dominica is approximately (750 km2) and it is about 29 miles (47 km) long and 16 miles (26 km) wide. and at the 50-60 mill mark you can only spot a rough shadow of the island so imagine how far shanks had to be to not have any visage of wano in their line of sight.

It has nothing to do with Logic at this point, this is something my psychiatrist has to help me with (who is Oda at this point lol) but really it has to do with their portrayal as untouchable since forever. I mean come on, He hears BM and Kaido are together and the first thing Kizaru says "Shall I go?" ready to rumble. That's what I mean by portrayal.
Also Shanks' 5G haki talk? I think Luffy did the same thing when he was drowning after losing to Kaido in Onigashima, Law's crew heard him through his Haki.

Akainu orders Kizaru to stand down because of the potential power of the samurai though lol. They are powerful but the most they could hope to do is interfere like that one CP0 agent did and affect the fight is a favourable way for the WG. With the power of the top people at Wano, no single admiral could just walk in and handle business.
The 5G thing was forshadowed by Luffy but shanks did it on an incomparable level. Miles away, out of sight, clear communication, visible haki streaks and making low level members of his own crew pass out. No one has even come close

@@FireAngelChris Yes they have been. The OG Admirals, that is. They all were shown untouchable by anyone other than Yonko. Top commanders could skirmish with them at best, but that's it.

@@mohamedab9033 lol hence them not being untouchable plus people keep judging the new admirals as if the old admirals is in some different tier from them. New admirals are being debuted in nine war setting and in post time skip . The resistance level is different. People thought green bull would do what Kizaru did on sabody and that’s no longer happening. Strawhats are more powerful plus Yonkos like shanks are still Yonkos.
