- Today I finally had the chance to attempt this hike, which has been on my list for a few months. I'd originally planned to join an organised group hike a few weeks ago but ended up missing it. Today i was determined to give a go. Solo.
Blackden Brook is a hidden gem of a hike with several waterfalls cascading down the rock creating a fairytale, hobbit-like backdrop for this awesome walk.
Part one takes you with me on my journey to the North Side of Kinder via the challenging scramble up the top end of Blackden Brook.
A grade 1 scramble which will be my first....Will I make it or do I turn back?

Hiya. It was me and my friend that you helped pull up and we did appreciate your help. We saw you scrambling up the left side clough, as we continued to navigate forward, up Blackden Brook. We did hope you were alright and we asked a couple who were following in your similar tracks to keep an eye out for you. By the time we got back to our car you had gone, so we were relieved to see you had made it back.
Oh wow, no way! Thanks for the nessage, Bless you for worrying...I was ok..I wasn't sure which way to go and the scramble actually wasn't too bad once i got to the top. I lost sight of you both then tho and wasn't sure which way you went. I got talking to a guy with a golden retriever for a bit before heading along the top. My legs were killing when I finally found the car haha...hope you got back okay too? Sorry I yanked you hard up the rock.. my intention was to help you not get you muddy..oops! Can't believe u found my video haha 😂
Ha ha, i honestly did not think you would be able to pull me up, little did I know your arms are made of pumped dynamite. We continued in the opposite direction to you at the top and went towards mad woman stones which would be an amazing wild camping spot.
@alibongo2494 was it a long way to find your way down? I'm not familiar with that side of Kinder. Fairbrook seemed a long walk bavk to the car and I ended up seeing 5 dead sheep in total.. awful! I must try the hike again and go the way you went maybe... thanks again!
@@AdventuresWithLilu The route down from madwoman stones was a gentle walk, compared to Fairbrook (which is a grade 1 scramble). So yeah, no comparison lol! Finding 5 dead sheep is disturbing, especially because I've NEVER seen a dead sheep, only a bloated one, and that was pretty unsettling enough. Were they all in the same area? Bizarre!

Lovely day out even though the path can be a bit dodgy in parts. A pair of walking poles make it all a lot easier. They give you extra points of balance.🙏
Very true! Not sure why I forgot them on this hike as they're always in the car 🙈
