Towards the end, I was trying to work out what was making it look so real, apart from the brilliant modelling - then it clicked, the lighting! So I went to myself "how has he done that? LEDs? Spots? Fades?" Then the shot changed, and you showed us it was done outdoors! Superb job! Really got me!
Thanks very much John. You can't beat natural light outside when taking the photos, it brings the model to life especially with the clouds and backdrop. I've done another model recently and the video is out called Stuck in the Mud. Think you'd probably enjoy the 2 videos on that thanks again Andy
Excellent. For me, it does everything a diorama should, and it does it superbly. A relaxed, and therefore natural representation of the subject, captures the atmosphere of the real thing, it tells a story, and last but not least, it is brought to life with people, animals, vehicles, and all the detail of life. A worthy winner in my book. Cheers. Mike.
Wow Mike thanks so much for those lovely comments and wish you were the judge lol. I've really enjoyed taking part and modelling a subject close to my heart having worked there. Thanks again for your comments cheers Andy
That is a beautiful piece of work. Fantastic detail but more importantly, it just oozes atmosphere and feeling. It’s a good thing that you’re going to give away the one already on your layout too. Good stuff. -Michael.
Unbelievably excellent. That is just a piece of art worthy of any display, magazine, calendar, layout, whatever. The detail and artistry are just sublimely brilliant! ANdy, you never cease to amaze, sir!!
Thank you so much for your kind comments Anthony. I've really enjoyed building it and I'm very pleased with the result. It has been tense at times working to such a tight time frame but it's kept me off the streets atb Andy
I think the same as everyone else Andy it’s a beautiful model, it is a work of art in it’s own right. I hope you win something in the competition as it would be thoroughly deserved but more importantly the joy and satisfaction it has given you in making it. I have started my first major scratch build and I’m hooked! Cheers for now Andy, John
Hi John thank you very much for your lovely comments. I really enjoyed building the scene there's so much satisfaction at the end knowing that's its fairly unique. I use a mixture of Slater's and Wills plasticard sheets although it's all Wills on this build. Slater's is thinner and easier to use but lacks the depth in the detail so I tend to use that when cladding existing card buildings. Good luck with your build I'll look forward to seeing your next video cheers Andy
I have seen a few Diorama`s over the years but this totally out standing Absolutely superb Andy. TOP MAN.This needs to be in an exhibition .this is above and beyond.
Hi Allan thanks so much. I was just going to give it away but the wife talked me into putting it onto the layout in place of the other one. There's some really top class entries in the competition so I'll just wait and see but I won't be disappointed as I've really enjoyed taking part atb Andy
Hello Andy, absolutely great upload, loved the farm, and the background music very fitting, a fine job, what else can I say, that your other viewers haven't already said, stay safe, Allan
Hi from New Zealand. Not only have you done a brilliant job on the diorama but also great photography. Great inspiration for my next phase of my layout - an agricultural area.
What an absolutely superb diorama, thanks for sharing, thoroughly enjoyed the video. I can see why you swapped it in, superb! Love the sense of movement and life. Cheers!!
Thank you very much for your kind comments they're much appreciated. I actually enjoyed doing the build although it was a bit of a rush. It's fully on the layout now and I'm working on the surrounding area thanks again Andy
Wow Wow Andy, what an absolutely amazing diorama. I have watched it three times and see different things every time. Your modelling skills and techniques are somthing for us all to try and aspire too. Good luck with the competition Andy.
Thank you Steve. I've really enjoyed being a part of this competition and have learned so much through the process. I'm not used to working to schedules these days lol. I'll definitely be entering again. Thanks again Steve atb Andy
Hi Andy, found the channel and subbed. This is a great work of art sir..well done 👏🏼👏🏼.. My brother wants me to make him a farm scene diorama so I can grab inspiration from this video..thank you, regards, Chris
You have really managed to get a very nice moorland farm there, particularly impressed by your "wet" meadow with the various tufts of grass, I can actually visualise the mud sucking at my feet walking across such a field. Can I ask where the quad bike came from ?
Thanks David I used to work in those conditions so know what you mean about the mud sucking at your boots. The quad bike is either Priesler or noch and I got it from the Gaugemaster shop. Hope that helps atb Andy
@@moorlandmodelrailwayandy many thanks, helps a lot as either will be HO which is perfect for the Alpine layout I want to create, turns out it's a Wiking one 0230129 if anyone else is after one :)
Hi Alex thank you very much for your comments and subscribing. I have seen your photos on the Wws Facebook page and they are amazing. Your English is better than my Swiss. Although I have visited Switzerland, I based myself in Interlaken and walked for 2 weeks from there. Thanks again Andy
Great video Andy, lots of atmosphere in the scene! Which WWS water product did you use for the fast flowing stream and how did you apply it as I want to do something similar on my layout and you have done it so well! Cheers Gary
Thanks Gary. I used the clear water paste from WWS. I applied it with a paint brush and wooden lollipop stick. It takes ages to clear, but it does. I've found later that it's better to build up thin layers that dry quicker then do the thicker detailing on top. Martyn did a good live stream using it, worth watching before you have a go but it's a great product. It can be painted once dry to bring out the detail. Hope that helps cheers Andy
Very realistic, being able to position it outside with natural light always adds to the realism.
Thank you very much atb Andy
