Remember to cover the ends of the sleepers with ballast. In real life this is to stop the rails from moving the sleeper when the rails expand due to the heat of the sun in summer. Nothing worse than your nice straight piece of garden railway track developing a curve after a particularly hot summers day

Very nice work and enjoyable video. I like those thyme twigs too, as a restaurant chef I worked with thyme often but never knew the real treasure is in the branches haha!
What an absolutely satisfying video mate! (I watched it , as I've a stonking headache, so took my mind off it.. so to speak). I love to see how dioramas are created (like being god!). I never really got into trainsets when I was a kid... I lost interest very very quickly just seeing it go round in a circle. But I loved building Airfix models. But I stopped absolutely when I was 19. One day, I thought to myself.. "This is childish!!!!". Then gave away all my carefully built and painted models away. (I even packed the fuselage with plasticine to give them some proper weight. Fast forward 43 years, I woud still like to build the odd plane or even tank etc, and build a diorama around it. BUT.... the little bugger on my shoulder would be bellowing in my earhole. "Don't, it's bloody childish!!" So, I doubt I'll ever get around to it, with the 'time' I've got left on this planet......... Anybody think my conscience is being hyper critical, or is it well founded. Ill be interested what your positive and, negative arguments are!😉
You can add an old sock to the end of your vacuum to catch your grass. Seen others do it and seems to work, loved the video and you do a great job! Subscribing right now!
Really lovely diorama, some gorgeous details in there and especially considering that you took on N scale for your first railway model. And then, for the glamour shots, you pull out the little pannier as your ace. Well played, sir, well played 🙇
Very nice work and great result. Also very well explained on each step. I model in HO scale (1/87 scale) and also use tile grout for ground cover on areas on my Colorado mountain type railroad. Question Please: Could you please tell me what brand tile grout you used on this video. It looks more granular than what I am using (my brand is more of a fine powder). I like the granular look of whatever brand used on your video and finding out what brand it is would be very helpful. Thanks in advance for any information you can share on the brand you used. Very nice work on your video...Well done. Philip
N gauge is 1:160th-scale, T-gauge (strictly contemporary Japanese) is 1:450th-scale; Z-gauge is 1:220th scale; HO-gauge is 1:87th-scale; S-gauge is 1:64th-scale; O-gauge is 1:43rd scale (some use it with 1:48th scale); 1-gauge is 1:32nd scale; G-gauge is 1:22 or 1:24th scale (some use it with 1:24th/1:25th-scale). I am no expert on any of this-just poor at maths!
Awesome! I really appreciate the sooting of the tunnel portal. It's often something that even diehard Railway modellers overlook! 👌
Glad you enjoyed it!
I was never interested in this topic and stumbled onto this video by accident. Now I’m captivated. Great video!
I love it! The trees especially look so lifelike! I love your style in modeling and video-making!
Thank you!
Great video and superb final product, Chris.
Thanks Merrick! I really appreciate it 😁

Beautiful end result and a really enjoyable video. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you buddy. I'm glad you like it 😊
Excelente trabajo. En pocos pasos, un resumen perfecto de como hacer un diorama realista. Felicitaciones y gracias por la clase!
Beautiful diorama, great tutorial as well, nice bit of inspiration for all model makers of all ages.
Glad you enjoyed it
It´s absolutely beautiful!! Just only smoke from locomotive is missing...
Thank you very much!
Smoke is so difficult to glue down

Very nice job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Amazing job. Your methodical attention to detail and sheer patience with the project is inspiring. Thank you!
Thank you so much!

Thank you, buddy! Yes, thyme twigs are great to work with. Plus, they are pretty easy to get hold of here 😁
Love this video thanks for sharing - exactly what was thinking myself as first project for model trains and n scale (new sub)
Very tidy stuff there. Loved it. Many thanks for showing this. All the best

Nice one Chris.

Thanks so much! It was a little daunting, but I'm glad I went with N scale in the end and I love the little gwr pannier 😁 it has such a distinct look!
Really beautiful 😊
Great video. How would you model steam and smoke from the loco?

Thank you!
Amazing work! I bet this scale was a nightmare at times
Thanks! Yeah, it was a bit of a challenge, that's for sure 😅
love the video, but out of curiosity what kind of rails do you use?
Thank you! I've just used some Peco's standard N Gauge flexi track 👍
Can u please make a airport diorama

I wish I wasn't so dark. Excellent otherwise.
