- Hey everyone! My modded Minecraft experience just took a turn for the better because I'm SO happy our pretty purple grass is back. Thanks to an amazing community member I was able to change a setting in the Quark config file to allow us to have it again so if you're wondering how to change yours back, I explain it at the start of the video.

I think you can either hold a bee in your inventory in a bee cage and hover over it and hold shift to see its stats or you can hover over a bee in the hive and hit shift to see its stats ... these will tell you such things as how productive that bee is, what time of day it works, whether or not it can work in the rain, etc ... diurnal means it works only in the daytime, nocturnal work at night and metanurnal work around the clock ... most bees will only work in non rainy weather ... but the fabled prismarine bee can give you the gene for "any weather" which means it will work even during lightening storms

Bee Productivity: Yes, the bees have traits and one of them is Nocturnal/Diurnal/Metaturnal. You can see the traits a bee has when left+shift the cage that has a bee inside. So if the bee is nocturnal, it will only be productive at night. You can change this trait by leaving the bee leashed to a post outside for both day and then night and it will change it's trait to Metaturnal. Or you can use the poke-poke to get traits from other bees that are metaturnal.
You will also need to pay attention to the weather as bees can have None/Rain/Any for weather which will also affect when they are productive.
If you would like, I can get you a list of bees to target for best genetic stats if you're planning on making "perfect" bee combinations.
For the feeding slab, you only need a single item for all the bees to use. So you can have up to 3 different types of items on the slab to have 3 different types of bees in the Advanced Hive. But if you have all the same type of bee, you only need a single item for them to work.

Hovering over the bee tells you their stats. Not the bees in JEI, but YOUR bees. JEI doesn’t show anything when hovering over them. Here, does it show whether they are nocturnal or diurnal? Diurnal means day time.
But, most importantly, you have to bee patient with the bees. Hahah. I too have trouble with that.
Patience isn't a virtue I have a lot of the time but I'll get there with this mod I'm sure....at least to some extent. xD
put your first draconic dusts into getting the best productivity upgrades you can and put them on your draconic bee hive ... getting these guys speeded up as much as possible is your first priority!

You should be able to pipe the combs out of the nest with the draconic bees into the centrifuge and from their hopper or pipe into a chest with a compacting upgrade. This would effectively automate the production of the draconic chunks.
That has to be the prettiest purple grass ever! So happy for you that your biome is pretty and purple again!

There is an alternative to getting more of the same type of bee. Some of the bees can be bred using the Breeding Chamber. You just put the 2 bees (i.e. Chocolate Mining Bees) into the first 2 spots, add the breeding item (usually flowers) below them and put cages in the lower right spot. This will make a BaBee of that type and you have to put it into the BaBee Incubator with Honey Treats to grow it up. This is a lot slower but will guarantee the type of bee you're looking for. However, not all bees can be bred together and JEI will tell you that.
I have so much to learn about this mod...my brain isn't ready but I sure am. lol
the heated centrifuge process comb blocks (equivalent to four individual combs) ... which is why it shows a higher production ... I process all my individual combs in powered centrifuges since they are easier to make
Carpenter bees are built more like bumblebees IRL, so they get the rounder models. I guess the bees you're letting go are freebees xD

For your templates, I have a separate chest/barrel/nightstand in my bedroom that I keep a single copy of all my templates so I don't accidentally use the last one.
I don't mind going to get them again so it's no big deal. :D
Probably not needed anymore. Though at least a temperary fix for the vanilla beefarm redstone overflow would be to break and replace the redstone that actively works on the dispenser.
Heated centrifudge doesn't actually increase the amount of pieces you get from the draconic combs. The reason the amount was higher was because the input was a comb block instead of a singular comb
Hold shift over bees to see their trades, like productivity, if they are nocturnal etc.
Creo, I used up my last template be like: super easy, barely an inconvenience. In the video: why are you being so inconvenient for me?!?!? :P
Btw with the feeding slab you only need one of the flowering item. Those multiple slots in there is mainly for when you want different kinds of bees into the same hive or multiple hives surrounding a single feeding slab.
To stop yourself being a doofus and sorting the bee chest. you can acutally assign slots in soph. storage/backpacks that won't be sorted when you click the sort button. It is one of the buttons behind the cog and will make those slots green.
Yeah I use that slot button in the series for my chests at the chunk destroyer (pre-auto transferring) but I don't want to spend the time doing it for a temp chest.
I meant the templates were easy to get in the sense of I can fly around and get them and that there's no threat in the nether that I'm worried about...not the time that it takes to get them. xD

@@Creothina Just to make sure there isn't a missunderstanding. If I remember correctly with the chunk destroyer you specified for each item where they would end up with the "memory" mode. However that is not the one I'm refering to there is another one that makes the slots you want not be counted when you sort the inventory. That one is way easier to set up as it doesn't care what item goes in that slot, it just won't get sorted.
@@theganondorf96 Ahhh yes the slot locking stuff you mean...sorry I misread. I've used that a bunch before as well in the backpacks and it's handy when something is in a more permanent spot/used in the backpacks for sure.

you don't need a large collection of solitary bees ... most of the bees you catch in those nests you create and then spam with the honey treats are "solitary" bees that will never live in an advanced nest ... they are used solely for breeding purposes ... combinations of different bees will breed up new bees that will live in hives and produce stuff for you.
the bees with the huge bulbous butt ... those are the bumble bees that you can saddle up and ride ... they have to be a bit bigger or it would look really weird putting a saddle on them ... not to mention you riding on a tiny bee ... would look pretty crazy
Riding a bee period is pretty crazy. xD
If the bees are Diurnal they will only work during the day. You need to make the bees Metaurnal to work both in day and night. Leash the bees out in the open for a few days and they will turn Nocturnal then Metaurnal. It will take some time.
I've been slowly learning that I'll need to adjust my focus and patience levels for this mod but honestly I'm having a ton of fun with it. Thanks for the tip as always! :D
