I published a longplay and review of Turbo OutRun back in 2015, and reading it back, I wasn't a massive fan. I decided to record a new QHD longplay, and I was curious to see whether my attitude toward the game had changed.
Although I still prefer the original, I actually quite enjoyed playing through the sequel. Whether it's because I have a new monitor to play the game on, or whether I was using a proper analogue controller for steering, I found this second playthrough a better experience; I still don't like the massive speed gauges in the bottom left because they take up too much of the visible screen area, but I certainly enjoyed this second playthrough more than I expected.

Awesome and sensational Outrun's second game, exceptionally produced by Yu Suzuki and wonderfully directed by Satoshi Mifune(Virtua Striker)

Not quite a fan of the OST for this game, but I enjoy the nod they did of the parts selection music being a direct nod to Fantasy Zone. Even with the OST not being as memorable, this is still a fun game, but it was HARD for me when I was a kid. Still an awesome playthrough and it was fun watching this. 😎

Gotta love the classic legendary game "outrun", no matter what genre and type of console, never go old this game, collectors gold I'd say.

The turbo boost in the Need for Speed series is very handy at times but in this classic game it just explodes you forward.

The sexy woman in the short white sleeveless dress with red high heel shoes is a great WWE 2K22 wrestler creation.

Yeah I remember enjoying playing it back then as a young lad about to start High School. Thing was, I kept getting 'Game Over' at Denver.

Looks gorgeous, but I think i prefer Jeroen Tel's soundtrack for the C64 version!

    Kind of top gear games.

What does the special turbo upgrade do? Slow to overheat? Cools down faster? Faster speed? What?

Not aged well, it just looks like a mess of sprites. The original 86 outrun on the other hand has aged like fine wine.

Boring, unplayable, badly designed and poorly balanced, ugly crap with horrific noise instead of music. Low camera point of view with too big car sprite, short cliche stages. Laughable excuse of a game. Certainly NOT worthy sequel of FANTASTIC original Outrun.
