Guys, if you have problems while converting your ellipse into the glow in a white or light background like I did, what helped me was to do a normal gradient (from darker to lighter color) and the last dot of color in the gradient take down all the opacity. Then in opacity option instead of using “screen” use soft light, then go to the effect window, and use Gaussian blur and there you go. Hope it helps

You need to check color mode. Maybe you have CMYK, but you need RGB. And of course check that you have black color with code 000000

Hey, I had the same problem. Then I realised you need a darker background for your gradient to look good. I was trying to do it on white background and it seemed to not work at all. Maybe it'll help someone.
